Having used this place for take-away in the past, we found ourselves popping in on a Saturday evening hoping for a table as we were in a bit of a rush to eat before heading out to a party. We were advised there were no tables available, so we ordered a few bits to take-away as didn’t have time to mess about. As we were waiting I noticed one of the empty tables had a note on it for a booking 50 mins time - so I had a word with who I presume is the manager and promised we would vacate before the booking, meaning we could eat at a table! The food was served very quickly, only a few dishes like I say but it’s one of our more common choices. Satay chicken, beef & mushrooms and a chicken fried rice. £33-ish with a £3 service charge. We enjoyed the food, perfectly hot and also tasty. My partner did say her satay chicken could of done with a bit more sauce as it comes with more when we order it as a takeout. (So she could put it on the rice more..) but I think next time when we’re not in so much of a rush we would probably just request a bit more sauce - I’m sure that wouldn’t take the kitchen a minute to knock up. Just before writing this review I took a look through others and notice some giving 1-star reviews on the account they were ill from the food here, which I personally find a little odd as knowing a bit about the food industry from my family owning their own take-away in the past, if one person was ill then a hell of a lot more would of been too - therefore the restaurant would of known about it. I do a lot of Google reviews and always give a fair rating, and I do my best to explain experiences positive or negative. I won’t be influenced by other reviews or intimidated by owners/managers as I firmly believe this ruins the trust the public have in reviews. Admittedly this is our first dining-in experience here, however we’ve used Yum Yum probably 3-4 times in the last 18 months for takeaway and neither of us have ever been sick after, or had a complaint about the food.

Went here with a mate and some family. A restaurant to remember but NOT for the right reasons. The restaurant is FREEZING. And when I mentioned this to our server they just shrugged and walked away. RUDE. Secondly, the food took over AN HOUR to come. Whilst I know weekends can be busy, we were not informed we would have a delay which would have been the courteous thing to do. After 45 minutes I went to the bar (which we shouldn’t have to have done) to query this - they just said they were busy. When the food arrived it was COLD and the chicken in particular was DRY. We sent it back after an argument with the server which was surprising and shocking, and when it did return, it was WORSE than before. At this point we realised there was little hope for the rest of the meal so we left early. Sadly the staff, in particular one server and the elderly gentlemen, were the RUDEST staff I have ever met in the hospitality industry. DO NOT VISIT.

We came to this place for a birthday celebration. Whilst looking at the buffet menu and the drinks menu, we asked for some tap water for the table. Manager said we had to pay for tap water. I asked why as it is illegal to charge for tap water especially in a place where alcohol is served. Also because we were going to order other drinks. He got aggressive and was extremely rude. There was 7 of us including an elderly person (who's birthday it was) and 2 toddlers and it was a very hot day. They started to cry because of the manager's behaviour. We weren't happy with his behaviour and not happy to pay for the tap water and hence we left. Shame this was the case as we knew this restaurant from its previous location. Bad service, illegal charging of water and unpleasant experience. Would not recommend.

Worst place I have EVER been to. Ordered starters and when they came the meat/veg were all mixed up. Pointed this out and apologised saying that unfortunately I can’t eat anything as I’m vegetarian. Expected to have a new uncontaminated version offered but instead I was just yelled at by multiple members of staff. Said I’d like to leave and just pay for what we’d had and yet was yelled at some more and told to pay for starters which I couldn’t eat. Left in tears even though all I said was that I couldn’t eat food mixed with meat which there was no pre warning it would be. Then had several servers make rude comments until we left. Still really upset. AVOID AVOID AVOID. If I could give 0 stars I would. I literally expected a sorry and the food to be replaced but instead had several members of staff yell at me. Update: I did actually advise that I was vegetarian as I asked if the seaweed came with fish flakes as I’m vegetarian. We had also visited before and our starters had gone individually as you would expect with two separate people dining. The gentleman I was with certainly did not apologise on my behalf as he was as shocked at your behaviour as I was - I see that this is a tactic you have tried to use before though. I was also not shouting or was I even rude. When I pointed out that the customer is always right it was after you had spent a long time being rude to me and when you were refusing to stop. I at no point shouted but merely responded to the continuous round of rude and aggressive questions that were being thrown at me non-stop. We were also only ‘offered’ a replacement after we had been made to feel so uncomfortable and upset that we wanted to leave. This wasn’t really even so much as offered as was just shouted back at us as the elderly rude gentleman eventually headed to the kitchen. The reason I said I didn’t want to pay was, as you have just pointed out, we’d had a glass of Prosecco each and then felt so uncomfortable we just wanted to leave. As this was due to your behaviour, I did not and still do not see why we should have to pay…but we did and left. Then when we were paying the bill, the younger waiter was kind and apologised to us, to which he was then nastily told not to by another female member of staff who had been huffing and puffing under her breath and again being rude. I’m still in shock at how it escalated like this just from pointing out that I couldn’t eat some of the starters…on an ‘All you can eat’ where you can order as much as you like anyway!! It just makes no sense. You can twist things and lie as much as you like but I’m absolutely disgusted by how we were treated and am still upset about it two days later. It’s disappointing that you think it’s okay to be this rude to people like this, whether in a restaurant or not. As I said, worst restaurant experience we’ve ever had. Try if you want to but you better hope no mistakes are made and if they are DON’T point them out.

We went here on a Thursday eve and had their all you can eat offer. I was a bit skeptical as I was used to a conventional buffet where you serve yourself with food. However the food turned out to be really delicious, everything we ordered was top notch, I wouldn’t say there was one thing that I didn’t like. What stood out especially for me were the entrees. Very nice selection of choices, especially for pescatarians, as there are many types of prawns and mussels to choose from. Don’t forget to book a table in advance. Will definitely go back!

Best Chinese restaurant I’ve been to London. My favourite place to eat out for both casual and smart occasions. It’s a bit of a trek away for me but the journey is always worth it. Can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to come back!

Went for a family birthday meal. We're served promptly but most individually chosen starters we're all piled up together on a plate. Aside from the duck which was OK the rest of the food was very average for a restaurant. The experience wasn't helped as there was a huge party at a table near us with uncontrolled young children making a real din.

This is the first time I've dined here, and I would happily dine there again ,service was good there was a very good selection on the menu and the food arrived hot It needs to be remembered that what you order is for one, so if you are a party of 4 then you need to order say 2 of the dish to go around ,that said ,there was no problem with doing that All in all it was a very good meal and a very enjoyable nite

We had a really lovely meal here for my son's 16th birthday. We opted from the buffet menu and every dish was delicious. Service was friendly, and atmosphere good and tasteful decor. Others have mentioned the place being cold inside; I thought it was cool, but not cold, but worth bearing in mind if you're the type to feel the cold more and take a cardi! Prices were reasonabl - about as I would realistically expect for dining out in 2023. A most enjoyable evening.

Good food and atmosphere, friendly staff, service was a tad slow but it was a full house of customers so that may explain why. Overall I enjoyed my evening

I always come here with my family every time we see each other and the food is wonderful! The staff are very friendly and although we don’t come very often they always remember us. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants to go to! Always very clean and very fast service, I would definitely recommend Yum Yums for family meals. I would definitely recommend the Toffee Bananas for dessert too. Thank you guys for your amazing food/drinks and your amazing service! We will all definitely be coming again very soon!

Been here a few times, but this would be the first time we didn't really enjoy our meal. It's £23 person for all you can eat, in total our bill for 4 people, including drinks was £130. The service and atmosphere were absolutely fine, just the food was a letdown.

We chose this restaurant as was close to where we were staying and the menu looked lovely. They were busy which is normally a good sign, having not booked they set us up a table by the door which we were grateful for. Shortly after we were seated another couple arrived who had also not booked and were obviously regulars, they were offered a table we were told was reserved and during the meal we noticed a few tables not being used, one blatantly covered with menus in much better location and would have prevented my partner getting a cold back from the draft by the door. We opted for the buffet menu and decided to order a couple of starters to get an idea of portion sizes (as did not want to over order & waste food) when ordering we were asked to order several starters at once as was easier for the kitchen (that had been our plan) an hour and half later we were still waiting on our main which eventually arrived. It was obvious the staff were looking after the regulars above us as the couple that came in after us had eaten there starters and mains and left by the time our mains arrived. The quality of the food was not the best, the plates were cold making the food cold. I ordered Pad Thai (one of my favourite dishes) what arrived was nothing like a Pad Thai I've ever had before. The chow main noodles had not been cooked properly either. When we got the bill having said on the menu service charge not included (therefore you expect to add at your discretion) the bill had a service charge added. At this point we decided to ask to speak to the manager and politely mentioned the service charge and were told he'd take it off without actually listening to what we were saying, we then started to express our experience thinking the manager should be aware but have never known a manager be so rude, he kept cutting us off and said you've been here 2 hours and are complaining to which we said yes as we shouldn't have been there for 2 hours but waited so long for our food. He assumed that by being there that long we had enjoyed the food to which we said no we hadn't and were asked if we planned to go back we said no his response was good I'm sick of people like you and couldn't get us out quick enough. I do not recommend eating here.

How do I start with this review I took My family out to this place place was so cold, we couldn’t take our coats off it was like they couldn’t afford to put the heating on the food was horrific the chickens came out cold the Salt-N-Pepa squid came out, slimy when I ask them this, they could not give me an answer then tried to charge me adult price for a kid I literally had to give them my daughter’s birthdate i’ve never had a worse experience in a restaurant would never use again avoid avoid avoid. If it would give me the option, I would give no stars and that is not being hard.

We visited this evening (Saturday). It was packed and they had to turn people away. We ate from the buffet menu and every dish was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The staff were polite and intentive. We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends

The buffet is only available for 2 people at least! It's not reasonable that you can't order buffet if you are a single person! Soap in the toilet was mixed with water and was useless! They deliver a general hand written bill that contains the number you should pay and service charge, without any more details! I paid more than £28 for 1/4 dock and a sizzling prawn starter that didn't worth it to be honest.

Had a lovely meal last night. First time we’ve been to this restaurant. Food was delicious. So much to choose from on the buffet menu and all freshly cooked. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will be coming back for my partner’s birthday

Food was OK, but great customer service. The soup ordered was far below par, however, when the waitress was informed about this she took my feedback on board and promised to inform the chef.

We ate at this restaurant and it was not worth the £81 for 2 adults and a child. The menu is limited. The quality of the food is average nothing to sing home about. The best part of the restaurant is the friendly staff. I will not be returning. You have to order then the food is bought to you. Its not the traditional buffet where the food is laid out and you choose.

  • 5/5 Alex M. 2 years ago on Google
Really excellent. They call it a buffet. It is much better than that. Buffets are horrible. If they haven't run out of what you wanted, they are full of food that is either dried out, cold or touched by God knows who. What they call a buffet here is actually a full menu, all cooked fresh to order but you just pay a fixed price for the food, however much you want. That means you can have nice selection of lovely dishes and not worry about mounting costs. All that, and the quality of the food served was really very good.

Came here for take-out while we stayed in Sunbury for the weekend. The prices were reasonable and the waitress was friendly. The food came out at a reasonable time, we ordered fried rice and two meats dishes. The size was smaller than I expected but it was still enough for two people maybe we should have ordered more rice though. As for the flavors, it is decent. For me, it tasted like food-court quality. I still enjoyed my meal but not sure if I would come back.

This is me and my fiancee's favourite resturant! Excellent and well mannered service! Very welcoming and friendly owner. Beautiful food to match the wonderful warm atmosphere this location has.

Poor food, bad service. They also charge for tap water ..... who does that in this country??. Managers excuse is he also has to pay a water bill. So he can pick a menu to charge it on. Its funny how they just started doing this in covid.
