Have been going to this lifetime for 8 years. The hours just keep getting cut down. Extremely unhappy that this location is now closing at 10pm on the weekends. Part of the luxury of lifetime, part of the reason we pay the amount we do, is for the flexibility of hours. The covid excuse has expired. whats your excuse this time lifetime? For three weeks now they have switched men to the women's locker room because of plumbing issues - no water, toilets, razors, etc. I'm writing this on a Monday and the hot tub is closed. I suppose this is in addition to its weekly Friday closing from 12pm - 6pm?

This is a really great gym. I was concerned about the price, but after doing the 1 day guest pass, I now believe this place is worth the $139/month. They have about a dozen power racks with Olympic bar sets, barbells up to 120 lbs, dozens and dozens of cardio machines and an extremely nice locker room with great showers, towels and a nice spa included.

Not a very nice lifetime location though the membership fees make it seem that it should be. The front desk people are very nice but the 5 star experience ends there. The facility is extremely outdated & old looking. The images shown here on Yelp are very strategic angles - be prepared to be disappointed when you see this place in person. The amenities are the only things I like about this gym & even that feels outdated. I signed up for a barre class once and the teacher never showed. I never bothered rebooking another class. The parking lot has been in ongoing construction for a year at this point. To my knowledge it’s a simple parking garage not sure why it’s taking so long but you will need a car wash from driving on the gravel and makeshift parking spaces. I recently got an email that my membership rate is going up $10. I responded asking what upgrades I can expect to see but never received a response. It’s just an okay gym I think the fees are a bit steep for what you actually get. If they were looking for ways to put money back into the facility the parking garage was probably the least of concerns but go off lifetime.

The parking situation at this gym is absolutely unacceptable. The construction is making parking worse by the week. Not every spot is properly paved, or marked. Expect to spend a while finding a parking spot. Beware that construction debris are not properly contained from damaging your car. Paying a premium to accommodate to construction is not fair. Even $10 a month Planet Fitness has better parking. If your not willing to potentially have to skip a workout due to lack of spots, have construction debris go on your vehicle, park in unpaved / unmarked spots, have a decent car you care about, then this gym is CERTAINLY not for you.

Love this gym went here for years. Nice cafe, nice workers, very good gym overall. A lot of high schoolers though. Here’s some old pics of what inside looks like but it’s mostly me posing lol. To be completely honest I would come back here and recommend it even more if this place was 24/7 and I could come whenever and use the hot tub after a workout at 1am. That was your selling point for me last time and I promise if you did that it would set you out compared to the rest of gyms in area.

This club has gone down the drain. The past 13 years I have been a member I have seen this club get worse while dues keep increasing. Gaithersburg patrons are similar to Sports & Health due to corporate discounts they give out. The have even put up a sign to dress appropriately on the floor of the gym, that is how bad the crowd has gotten in Gaithersburg. Meanwhile while services are going down, the expense of construction of a parking garage (which should have happened during covid), and other capital expenditures are being past down to the customers by 10-15% yearly increases in dues. The keep selling the "spa" feel gym will not keep patrons paying monthly dues in the several hundred per month.

This is a really nice gym. The front desk is friendly, and the cleaning staff are meticulous and on a constant cleaning rotation to keep the locker facilities clean. The weight lifting area on the main floor is a little small but never crowded with everything you'll need. All machines are upstairs and will have everything you would like to see from a gym. The current parking situation is not great, but that's due to the construction to add more spots. Some wish list items that I wish the gym had would be a pool, basketball court, and keyless lockers. However, you do have the option with the membership here to visit the Gaithersburg Lifetime if you want those facilities.

This used to be a great gym but it's steadily going downhill. The dues are becoming astronmical while the services are declining. Neither the classes nor the instructors are what they were before Covid. The facilities are not being maintained properly; The ladies restrooms were out of order for weeks, the locks in the locker room have beens semi replaced for months, the water coming from the water fountains tastes of chlorine and is not cold; not to even mention the inconvenience of the seemingly never-ending construction yet the dues keep rising. Very disappointing!

I miss the good old days. Used to be a member since they opened. Nothing is the same after covid. One of my favorite features of this gym is that they were 24 hours. One of my most favorite moments in my like were when I could walk in at 1am when the world was asleep and have a nice workout and go to the sauna / hot tub / steam room after a long hard day with no one bothering me, then come home around 2:30am and sleep like a baby. Those days are over. They involuntarily jacked up the price of the membership for current members to double the price or more, and that was not a cool move. Although I understand the desire for exclusivity since it appears these gyms just get way too busy but I think there is a better way around it. The lifetime cafe here is one of the best features of the gym because they have healthy moderately priced options so you don’t have to worry about a pit stop for nutrition before or after. This place is a one stop shop. I wish I could join back up at my old membership price because I do miss this place a lot and I wish they remained a 24 hour gym. Also, theft is a HUGE problem here. Lockers get smashed and ransacked almost constantly. Happened to alot of people here. I personally had my stuff stolen before. But generally I like this place given the few setbacks. The 24 hour feature was a huge deal for me. I’m willing to pay a premium just to have that back but I can’t justify paying more than double the price of a membership for half the features offered. COVID was a nice excuse for corporations to tread on their clients and this is a good example.

***Updating my review to 5 stars as it seems that management called and addressed the temp issue which I really appreciate. Thank you lifetime for being proactive and caring about your members concerns! *** As a regular attendee, this gym is getting too hot, I asked staff about this to see if they could adjust the temperature a bit (pretty sure it’s set to the 70s) but haven’t heard back from Lifetime or the manager despite calling and leaving a voicemail. Very disappointed that there hasn’t been any follow up or changes to the temp since this affects people’s performance during weightlifting and leads to faster burnout and fatigue, when it’s too hot inside the alpha section and overall could be a few degrees cooler. Although it’s cold outside that shouldn’t be a reason to crank the heat up, as this is a gym and it should always be cooler (for reference Golds Gym was set to less than 70 degrees). Very disappointed as this is a very simple change but if nothing is done, I’ll have to reconsider this gym for another cheaper gym if this issue continues.

Superb facility with the best staff, from there front desk, to the people who maintain it. Very considerate and welcoming. They service to your needs. By far best gym with the environment there giving you the encouragement to really get work done with spacious room and endless select of machines and tools to facilitate your lifting goals. 10/10.

Love this gym. Always clean, well organized, and with plenty of options for a great workout. The instructors are wonderful and the cafe is very good too. Even though the amenities offered are less compared to the Gaithersburg club, this place is less crowded and is the right size for us.

Generally this is a decent club. It is not too busy when I go, there are fair number of classes for a smallish club, and most of the equipment is in good working order. I enjoy the yoga and pilates classes and the personal training I have received has been helpful and professional. I am growing increasingly frustrated with issues within and outside the gym's control. * For the last month, repairs that were to take a couple days stretched out for four weeks causing the locker rooms to be swapped eliminating toilet facilities in the temporary men's locker room. * Some pieces of equipment are awaiting repair for weeks at a time. * The price of pilates classes went up 15% without notice (had to see it on my bill). * The hot tub has been under repair several times when I wanted to use it post-workout. * Construction projects in the area have made access to the club and parking difficult. * Adjacent construction is disruptive for the yoga and pilates classes. * I have had three classes canceled due to water supply to the building disrupted including once while I was in the middle of a pilates class. * I had a class today cancelled because of an extended power outage likely due to construction in the area. It's not an inexpensive club and the times I have brought up my concerns with the staff, I feel like my concerns have been dismissed. Last time I mentioned it, the nice staff person joked that, "the construction hopefully will be done by end of Summer 2024". It is a convenient club and I think I will continue to patronize the club but my spouse has decided to use a gym closer to his office rather than deal with the hassles.

$50 for a day pass?! Pretty much every gym has free 1 day pass. Sometimes 7. How do you know you will like the gym without trying it out first?! And no a “tour” won’t cut it

The facility is always so clean and not so crowded. For people who just started working out, this is a great place. You would want to go often because you will think you are losing money if you are not going ;)! And the personal trainer Dom is 👍 .

The salon and spa is beautiful, and they offer all sorts of services! The best part is that it is open to the public- you don't have to be a member to get a salon or spa service done- PLUS, you then get access to a day pass for the rest of the club :) Wonderful team members, and always a great experience! Highly recommend!

Bad customer service, dingy and outdated equipment, and overcrowded. Not worth the money whatsoever, take yours elsewhere.

None of the Stages bikes work upstairs except ONE!! I was chased off of this one because there was a class in the area. Fix the bikes! We all pay the same price and I should not have to jump of the only bike that is not working because other “privileged” guests are in a class. You need to pay attention to your equipment.

Good gym for the most part except I don’t know why they had to get rid of the locker room keys. The PIN codes are tedious. Also sometimes some of the showers don’t get hot or have weak pressure.

The facility is always clean independent of time of day. The locker room, similarly, is always spotless. A special thanks to Sung from life café for handling the number of orders he had with professionality, efficiency, and a smile on his face. Had a great meal that was worth the wait.

It's a very old building and it shows on the inside. Dark, carpets could use a tune up and stuff looks just worn. You'll find most equipment on the upper level, while squat racks are on the half level below. You have a variety of classes but nothing really during lunch time, which was surprising since most people still work from home and could take classes during their lunch break. Prices just got increased again, after they had increased them not too long ago. You get access to the Gaithersburg location, which is nice but there was a reason i had signed up at this location and would have rather not have the price increase that included access to Gaithersburg. Fortunately there are other options in the area for less money.

I love this gym and the crew here. The workouts are challenging and fun and keeps me eager and excited to go workout as much as possible. The coaches are considerate and work with me in spite of my limitations and health issues. I feel like they have become a family I love exercising with. In addition to all the supportive coaches, the other patrons are equally supportive and inspiring. I love it here and intend to stay on for a long long time!

Been a member since 2008 and dont mind the price gouges from 85 dollars in 08 to 160+ now in 2024 but the only reason this gym was great was the 24 hour element after covid they reduced to midnight and now on the weekend it closes at 10PM this is ridiculous covid is over some of with small children are only able to come to the gym after 10PM Please bring back the 24 hours since you only had one employee at 15 dollars per hour working from 12 to 4 am

It used to be a great place but current management is destroying any remaining goodwill. How bad is current management? Well, the manager takes photos of female customers without their permission, god knows what for…
