I expected more based on the ratings and the way the restaurant looks. Portions are small for the price; my husband ordered a starter of mackerel which came as a 1-inch thin piece in an indeterminate white sauce. The rice special of magret de canard with truffle sauce was a big disappointment: the duck was so underdone I (nor my 6'2" husband) could not cut it with a steak knife and there was a wooden skewer that was impossible to pull out. Needless to say, I sent it back. They pan-fried the pieces which salvaged the dish and made it tastier and easier to cut - better cooked with lightly rare center but I still had to spit out some gristle. Lamb shank was good. The desserts were its saving grace. And throughout, no comment nor apology from the manager who was walking around. Probably just a fluke but should never happen in a restaurant of that reputation or price point.

Very nice restaurant. Totally great. The food, the staff, the environment are perfect. Very nice for a romantic dinner. I really fell for the butter with bone marrow.

This restaurant blew us out of the water! Definitely the best meal we've had in Spain thus far, and honestly one of the best meals we've had anywhere. The servers were so friendly and knowledgeable, and the food...!! We had the jamon to start, followed by the Thai salad, the seafood rice, grilled pork, and finally the cheesecake. Everything was so packed with flavor, and you could clearly taste the beautiful quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend to anyone visiting!!

We had the greatest time at La Cochera del Abuelo. Every detail of the dinner was managed expertly. Every dish was served with different (appropriate) plates and silverware. Food was amazing. All of the staff were helpful and you could tell were proud of the restaurant and the food they were serving. Definitely a highlight of Seville. It was a little hard to find behind a non lighted door, but definitely worth the trip.

Best food I have had in Sevilla. I would expect to see this place on a Michelin list soon, impressive after only opening in the last 4 years. Incredibly friendly and knowlegable staff. I will be back!

We searched carefully for a restaurant which did not serve patatas bravas / small bites. This is an idyllic restaurant with lovely atmosphere. My husband and enjoyed excellent food (taste and presentation) and service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice meal in the area.

Best meal we've had in Seville, the decor seems a bit formal at first but the servers and the music really relax the atmosphere. The food is amazing, everything was cooked perfectly. We had a salmon starter, deer tataki, vegetables, pork and bean stew between, with two glasses of white. The deer and mushroom broth was beautiful.

I visited this beautiful restaurant for a lunch with my boyfriend while being in Sevilla for a day and it was totally worth it! We had delicious and extraordinary food and excellent service. The host and employees were very polite and service oriented. For the food, the signature arroz (rice) was our favorite! Still thinking about this tasty dish, thanks for everything!

We adore this place and the lovely people who deliver the incredible culinary and personal experience. Much more than a delicious dinner - we were treated like family members in this lovely setting. Having our first dinner in Sevilla here started our visit off in a magical fashion! Gracias!!!

Such a special experience dining here. The food was incredible, the apple tarte tartin with black pudding was one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. Beautiful and considered decor too.

Everything they put on our table was absolutely fantastic — and we ate nearly the entire menu! Javier’s an amazing host and Florian does brilliant work in a tiny kitchen and the space is cozy and lovely. Just go!

One of my favourite meals of all time. As soon as the first plate arrived, I knew the restaurant’s reputation is well deserved. The food straddles comfort and elegance - delicious, homey and classy. And thank you to Mery and her server colleagues, who brought such warmth and kindness to our meal.

The beans! I never knew I could love beans so much. Starters were not to be missed. Wine was delicious. Fish excellent. Rice fantastic. Service was homey, which we enjoyed very much. Lovely antique plates. . Wonderful!

Found this place on our way home from another part of town. What a pleasant surprise! The reason why this place isn’t rated higher is because it’s off the beaten path. Best meal we’ve had in Spain. Excellent service and a homey vibe. Eat food made in house from the butter to dessert and you’ll likely be the only tourists. Highly recommend.

Amazing place, good atmosphere and a queso cake which doesn’t have competitors in Spain! You have to find it because is a bit hidden but it is worthy!

One of the best additions to the fine dining scene in Sevilla. The food is on par with what we just had on a trip to Asturias and Galicia and that is high praise. Try the cordero. Best in Sevilla. Next time we want to try the tasting menu. Wine list is short but very well curated and service is excellent.

I have been twice recently. One time for non-vegetarian menu and last night for vegetarian menu. Both were excellent. The place has comfortable ambience, good service, and quality food, wine, and Sherry. Fun for large groups.

Amazing venue. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The sautéed salad was tasty and my friends mushroom salad (special) was perfectly done. Would happily eat here again.
