Beautiful monastery just outside Seville. Well preserved frescoes. Peaceful cloister. Brought together by an altar emblematic of the Sevillan golden age. Free to visit and all explanation signs have an English translation. Do not miss.

If you are visiting Italica make sure you come here. They have just started to open the doors only every hour on the hour. So do not not turn up at 12.15 or you will have a 45 minute wait.

Free to visit this is a good example of a medieval church and monastery with some amazing paintings and murals. Unfortunately much of it is currently being restored so not all the place is accessible- however it is definitely worth a visit

V impressive frescoes, altar sculptures by Martínez Montañés, and general architecture. Not a well-known spot, but I do recommend combining a visit here with a trip to nearby Itálica if you are in Santiponce anyway. No entrance fee. No English explanations but luckily had an extremely knowledgeable pair of friends with me. Refurbishment is ongoing so I hope more of the site will open in due course.

There was a lot of history to be seen here. I didn't do a tour but still felt I learned a lot. The whole game of thrones scene was pretty nice to see as well.

Casiodoro de Reina, 500th anniversary of his birth in 2020, was a monk here who translated the Bible into Spanish.

It's free and definitely worth a quick visit coming from the Roman Amphitheater in Itálica. Has a lot of potential if more of the monastery is recovered and open to the public.

This beautiful mostly medieval monastery will take your breath away. One trillion percent worth the hike out of Seville proper. The general level of repair and restoration are excellent, the amount of tourist crowd and press is minimal, and the actual site itself is gorgeous and inspirational. Take the time to walk around the surrounding township, as well, which has some lovely landscaping and is a good archetype of suburban Spanish life.

No access granted within official opening hours in the middle of the afternoon. Very disappointing experience due to poor hospitality of staff.
