(Translated by Google) It is the most beautiful tower in the world, built as a minaret by the Almohads in the year 1184, in the 16th century the part of the Bell Tower was added and its magnificent Giraldillo that is the weather vane of Seville, in its interior some ramps lead to the top where you can see wonderful views of the entire city, highly recommended! 😁😃😀

Do NOT miss it! Do it! Climb it! You will regret if you don't, and yes this is not that easy if you are not young or not that fit. This is high but as you climb ramps (around 34 short ramps) and not stairs, and as you can stop several time on your way up at the many windows, you'll be able to do it. And you'll need patience, not endless but a significant amount as many others will be there, on the way up, on the way down, and especially at the top. They'll stay quite a long time mesmerized by the stunning views on the 4 sides of this tower. But it will be worth your time, patience and effort. Just look at the pictures.

This place is huge, immense in many senses: in beauty, in scale, in architectural expression etc. It's incredibly detailed and impressive, crafted perfectly from micro to macro details. You definitely have to go visit this cathedral no matter what religion or belief you have. It's a place for the humanity in a whole to appreciate and it's in the very heart of enchanting Sevilla.

First thing you do when visiting the Cathedral. There are no steps, just ramps going up on four sides of the square tower. It turned out to easier than I had imagined. So do it! When viewing outside, you can see the 'call to prayer minar' section, with the bell tower added to the top. Was told by guide, that this was a part of the old mosque retained, as it was earthquake proof...which the Christians couldn't master.

The tower looks so beautiful. The views of Seville town are stunning. We had brought a tower ticket along with the cathedral ticket. There is a ramp throughout the length of the tower. the steps are only in the last section. Easy to climb. Unfortunately during our visit it was too crowded. We had to stop everywhere now and then while climbing the tower. It had a big queue. For the views as well we had to wait for our turns. We couldn't wait and enjoy. It was will climb, see, and come down.

Magnificent church and museum, make sure that you don't skip this place if you visit Sevilla. The Giralda is a masterpiece for any art lover, but it's mostly packed with history and narratives that connect to our modern world. It's recommended that you purchase your tickets online and ahead of time, usually it's pretty packed, also you have the option to hire a tour guide, rent an audio guide or even use your cellphone as an audio guide, any of those options are fine, but recommended since the narratives will truly make the most out of your visit. Don't miss the opportunity to climb up the main tower, also check Christopher Columbus Mausoleum along with the stunning views of the chapel.

A must do to get out of the intense midday heat! Be warned, you'll be climbing up the tower for a far while and it's pretty steep but worth it. A really pretty view to admire the cathedral from above and Seville. Pretty busy so book in advance!

A MUST GO IN SEVILLE!! Even tho the climbing in the tower seems endless, but it gives you stunning view when going up and when you are at the top of the tower. It is enough to get a basic ticket with the Cathedral and do not miss the chance to go high and appreciate Seville!

Visiting the cathedral and La Giralda is a must during your time in Sevilla. Originally it was the minaret of the mosque, later turned into the bell tower of the cathedral. Walking to the top of the tower is not as hard as I expected it, it has ramps and plenty of places to stop on your way. The views of the city are magnificent and afterwards you don’t feel guilty getting some tapas after the physical effort :D

It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance for the Giralda and the Cathedral of Seville. From my check I found that there are no tickets online for the next few days, so it is better to purchase in advance. Entry is possible just in time. The climb to the tower is relatively not difficult and is continuous without stairs. The view from the top is very impressive and worth the effort

Do not recommend this climb... Surprised so many people say it's worth it. I'm young and fit and I still didn't find it to be worth my time. The problem is not the climb, as it's just a ramp and barely at an incline. Definitely easier than climbing 40 flights of stairs. The issue is that at the top, there is really not much to see. There are people flooding every corner of the viewpoint so you are competing to get a spot with a view. And not every spot has a good view - most are covered by grates for safety, while others you can barely get a decent view of anything. People are also extremely sweaty after the climb so it does not have a pleasant smell. You are better off spending more time in the beautiful Cathedral.

Worth visiting. If you are healthy and in shape you will enjoy it much more. 35 floor climbing to the top is physically breathtaking. But recommended to be done. Find your way through the cathedral. They will check your ticket at the entrance again.

One of the amazing towers in the world with an incredible view of Seville city! This is one of the highlights & most visited monuments of Seville. It is a bell tower of one of the largest cathedrals in the world. With 37 storeys, the ascend & descend is comfortable.

Definitely visit this tower along with the cathedral. The climb to the top was easy since it was on mostly on ramps. During our visit (September 2019) the east side was covered with scaffolding so you couldn't see views of the city in that direction. This was definitely on my list of places to visit. I'm from Kansas City, Missouri and there is a small version of La Giralda in the Country Club Plaza where I lived. In Kansas City, our La Giralda houses The Cheesecake Factory. :-)

Its a bit crowded you can booked your ticket online. The panoramic view was good. But i was disappointed I thought we will also explore the top of the cathedral. Its was only for the tower and inside the cathedral but its good. The cathedral was huge and also the resting place of Christopher Columbus.

Building is beautiful. You can go all the way to the top. On the way up there is not much to discover. When you reached the top you have a beautiful view over the city.

Don't be discouraged on the way up, the 34 levels of ascending slopes seem endless, but once you get there, you motivate yourself. The panoramic view on the top worth this effort. Regarding the cathedral, it’s one of the most beautiful I have visited in Europe!

A cultural experience to behold, but bring your walking shoes! You enter thru the cathedral and head up an incline that's about 30 stories. It's a challenge but definitely worth the trek. The gift shop does sell water at a very reasonable price, so don't be afraid to get a bottle before heading up. The history, architecture, and views are a highlight of any trip. You can see so much of Seville it's quite an experience!!!

MUST SEE ATTRACTION IN SEVILLA! Climb the tower ramps (not terribly steep but kind of long) to go to the top. The view is breathtaking. I dressed modestly (long pants, shirt with sleeves, and closed-toe shoes) due to other cathedrals I had been in, but many people were dressed in tank tops, shorts and dresses and had no problem.

As i like to say, finish up from the cathedral then head up the tower for the dessert of the view! Keep in mind, it's 30-35 floors up on a ramp (not stairs) so be prepared for that. There are places to stop for a minute and catch your breath, though at the top, the view alone will take it all away again! Wonderful 360 view sight of Seville from a distance, where modern meet the old and vice versa. The cathedral on the other hard, like never seen before. Shockingly, when I first entered I thought this isn't what i expected, but when you walk in the main hall of the cathedral, you start to appreciate it quite nicely. From entry point, all the way inside, keep an eye out on the tainted windows, the ceilings above you and the overall design of the place. Also, walk around in order and look at the beautifully designed walls, Columbus tomb and much more! Always, book in advance your spots to avoid a line and waiting.

Tower is beautiful to look at, but the sheer amount of people that go inside is insane and totally ruins your experience. Also the views are not that special since you are on top of the thing, that you would prefer to see from outside. I would avoid getting the ticket, or going there extremely early

A beautiful tower built in the minaret style. It's part of the stunning Seville Cathedral. I would highly recommend leaving some time to go up to the top as it affords stunning views over the city of Seville.

The history of the tower begins in 1184. Then it was a minaret. It has survived several earthquakes, but with little damage... The height is 104 meters. At the top there is a weather vane - a bronze statue of Giraldillo. She represents Faith. Inside, it was possible to climb to the top on a horse, now only on foot :) Be sure to climb up - from above there are beautiful views of the city in all four directions.

Very nice experience to do in Seville! I fully recommend this tower, however bear in mind that there are 35 floors to climb in a long queue and on the top the view is kinda blocked by dense fences.

Pictures can't depict how spectacular this is. This was a definite high point while visiting Seville. We participated in an audio tour with a guide. I don't think that is necessary. We certainly received information we would not have otherwise and we were able to "skip the line" but I think exploring on your own may be a better option.

The Bell tower for the cathedral of Seville. It was originally built as the minarat for Great Mosque of Seville in al-Andalus, Moorish Spain, during the reign of the Almohad dynasty. During construction at the time I was visiting but still a marvel and historic view of the city.

The place was just humongous. It's hard to describe it in words. On the inside the is lots of space and things to see. When you are walking on the street you're nearly all ways next to this cathedral. The altar is beautiful with the back wall filled to the brim with highly detailed ornaments and figures. If you're ever in the old area if Seville the I definitely recommend seeing this place.

Included in the tour of the cathedral. Rather than climbing steps up the tower it is a ramp so a bit easier for some to manage. There are interesting things to stop and look at in your way up and lots of photo opportunities. A must see! Try to go when the bells are due to go off.

Really nice place to visit. It is great that is had a ramp instead of stairs, but get ready to walk up 33 floors. Several spots where to take a picture with a view. In the top gets busy but try to see all the sides.

Fantastic beautiful visit to the Giralda. Splendid experience would definitely recommend to anyone able to walk up. Quite a steep climb, maybe difficult for the elderly. But once atop the tower definitely worth the view. Breathtaking. We were there at the hour and heard the bell chime which was unexpected but an added experience.

The tower is not too high but it offers a nice view of Seville from above. It's easy to climb as there's no stairs but ramps. You don't have to be extremely fit to visit the La Giralda and climb it. The entrance is through the cathedral. No wonder that it's a combo ticket, even it includes a free pass to Salvador church. You probably won't need to be up the tower more than half an hour as it tends to be crowded. 15-20 mins would be just fine.

In the early 16th century, Seville Cathedral supplanted Hagia Sophia as the largest cathedral in the world, a title the Byzantine church had held for a thousand years. Now, It is the fourth-largest church in the world (its size remains a matter of debate) as well as the largest Gothic church. His famous and marvellous tower is an iconic picture from Seville.

Beautiful views, amazing architecture and good value - must do! €12 gets you into the cathedral and the surrounding grounds. Do not miss going up the Giralda Tower - the views are fantastic, also make sure you stop in the side windows and take in some of the unique views of the cathedral and neighbouring buildings! The cathedral itself is rich with artefacts and religious items if you're into that. The intricate workmanship of everything here is amazing and well preserved!

Gorgeous view from above on the 35th floor. Although the rest stops in between with window opening are just as gorgeous and gives you an excellent view of the architecture of the church. Do be careful as the bell does ring occasionally not on the hour… noticeably around the :45 mark.

You can access the top of the tower with the ticket to visit the Cathedral and the Tower. It costs €12 and worth it. The view from the city from the top is amazing. Just be careful to not have your phone outside the fences for photograph near full times when the bell rings 😅

This was spectacular. Be aware that it’s about 35 flights up but very easy grade of steps. It was pretty packed when I went up. The views are pretty amazing from the tower. Oh and when I was up there the bells did in fact ring!

You should buy a ticket to visit the Cathedral in advance to get through the line quickly. The bell tower will come with it. Go straight up the bell tower as you arrive. You'll dudge a huge crowd. The only way to get to the top is waking up dozens of ramps. Thankfully the walk up is very spacious for a bell tower. The view from the top is worth your effort.

I went really to see the tallest building in town and a view of the whole city. Most of the views were very Bland with white houses. The View towards the palace is much better with the trees and Greenery. Overall it was not really that worth it but just to check it off your list you can do it once. The ticket was about 12 euros but you can buy online and save one euro. You can buy audio guide phone rental in English and other languages to listen to it while you go to different places and put in the number for information.

Enter in from the Cathedral and walk up about 35 floors which are all via ramps. Once you get to the top, you have to climb stairs. The view itself is great but it was insanely crowded and you had to wait to get into each viewpoint. There is a chain fence that partially obstructs your view and that takes away some of the charm but you can still get pictures in the gaps. The walk down is actually the hard part, especially on your knees since it's all a decline. Many older people went up so it is doable but you do feel rushed while up there.

Great views of the city and a lovely breeze on a hot day. Climbing this tower isn't as difficult as it sounds although there is no lift. Rather than steps, you climb up sloped ramps, 35 of them as you go up. You could see plenty of elderly people and parents with kids so it is well worth it

Amazing cathedral. 100% recommend taking this tour! We had a very enthusiastic guide who was super passionate about her job, which made our experience unforgettable! To take the tour you need to book it ahead!

Unbelievable. 38 case of ramps. Thousands of people in narrow hallways. For what? Just a few bells and an extraordinary small and narrow balcony. Avoid it. Especially, if you are not fit.

You can go right to the top, an additional ticket to the Cathedral. Both well worth it. It's the brother of a minaret in Marrakesh, modified since the Christian conquest of Seville. Great views easy climb in ramps, not hard at all.

Through the ages this is testimony of reverance for God by the Spanish people. An amazing edifice that human hands crafted in worship. A must-visit place for all coming to Spain

Breathtaking architecture, connected to the cathedral, it was the minaret for the Great Mosque at the Islamic era then became a bell tower of the Cathedral of Seville, what a beautiful mixture between islam and Christianity. Must visit, even if you can't climb it, just sit facing it and enjoy the beauty.

Bell Tower of the Seville Cathedral. Amazing 360° views of the city, well worth the climb of 35 ramps and a few stairs. Entry ticket can be bought in combination with the Cathedral ticket.

It is quite a climb to get up there but the view is worth it. Up on the tower you have a good view over the city.

The largest gothic cathedral in the world. Quite astounding inside, with not only the tomb of Christopher Columbus but some features from the 16th century that wouldn’t look out of place in a David Lynch film. Well worth the visit. Students of all ages get reduced entry prices.

Really historical land mark, as it was a minaret that was turned into a church tower, a real witness of changing of times! For 34 ramp, you will reach the top, along the path there are multiple windows and views If you are not fit, or have limited mobility, you may find it challenging

Easier tower to climb than most due to it being mostly ramps to the top with a few stairs, very busy at top at you had to wait to take photos. Not the best view overall the bars and fence made it difficult to take picture properly

The Giralda is the bell tower of Seville Cathedral. It is the former minaret of a mosque completed in 1198. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a bit of a climb up, but we'll worth it. There are fantastic views of Seville from the top. Make sure to include when buying ticket for the cathedral.

You need to be physically fit to get to the top, as it's a 35 staircase equivalent (ramps, not stairs, so technically wheelchair accessible, but the incline is steep) up to the top. The views were gorgeous and worth it though! Buy tickets in advance

Honestly underwhelmed. The tower was really busy even in late September. The netting across top means it's really difficult to get decent photos, and one side Is covered in scaffolding meaning you can't see out it at all.

  • 5/5 Ararat M. 6 months ago on Google
It takes 35 staircase equivalent height to reach the top. Prepare yourself for the workout. The view is really worth it.

La Giralda is theBell tower of Seville Cathedral and included in the ticket. Though 342 feet tall, the climb to the (Giralda) bell tower was much easier and busier than I expected - it's an incline hill almost all the way up, and only the last ~15 steps are stairs. It was quite a line both directions inside, so single file up and down. There are cutouts along the way up where you can take a brief pause if needed. It took us 7 minutes to walk upstairs continuous pace, about 10 minutes to get a view, then the walk down. At the top it was hard to get any photos as there is a chain linked protection area. A few people would sneak their phones under the bottom part as a 5 cm gap, but guessing several people per day lose them that way so wouldn't recommend it.

This was a brilliant place to visit and well worth the climb to the top to see the fantastic views over Seville. Historically very important and super-interesting too. Would definitely recommend the audio guide to enhance the experience.

Worth climbing more than 30 slopes. View is fantastic. Buy tickets in advance, although it is not compulsory and not nearly as busy as the Alcazar.

Full of Gothic style details, very tall and majestic, perfect and with attractive proportions. Be sure to buy ticket in advance to climb the minaret. Unfortunately, I could not get a ticket and I missed the experience of seeing sky line of Seville 🥺😔

34 flights of a continuous ramp plus another flight of stairs to the top of this minaret-turned-bell-tower. Honestly the views are very obstructed by fencing which makes the long hike maybe not worth it. The history of this Ottoman time Muslim-Christian tower is very cool though!

Very interesting tower which has ramps to the top rather than steps, amazing views on the way up and from the top of the city and over the roof of the cathedral. First time I visited was in the summer many years ago when it was quiet, visited again in November 23 and was very very busy. Not as good an experience when busy as it's literally just standing in a slow moving queue for 30mins.
