Castle is lovely but pub they have built there feels completely out of place it ruins the look and feel of it's surroundings.

When you're stuck for something to do - this is the place to visit. At the botyom there's a large car park, pub/restaurant, snack shop, childrens playground and an animal park. The snack shop are a bit dliw and disorganised, but OK. The walk up to the castle is lovely anf there's a lovely view. The castles opening hours are a bit old fashioned e.g. not open until April! I don't think the Czech have quite understood this capitalism thing :-) But when they are open there's a little snacks shop, tours and quite often kids activities and events such as falconry, archery, beer festivals etc.) Highly recommended!

Amazing place for hike. Close to Pardubice (around 8 km) - you can catch a bus from Pardubice or Hradec Kralove. Castle is on the hill (beautiful view), so short walk from bus stop or parking is required. Restored part of castle is open for visitors. Inside you can find exhibition about castle history, archeological works, restoration. Tower with panoramical view. Not sure about guided tours - might be only in Czech language.

Nice and chill guided tour in English. Interesting facts about the place. Very pleasant view from the tower.

Very nice castle/chateau with beautiful view to the country. You can see even Sněžka from there.

This is a great place for a tour or if you only have time to walk around it without a guide. Beautiful place.

The Arabela series was shot there! The hill is full of grazing goats (oh, those little cheeky devils) and there are handsome stags and cute fallow deer in a nearby enclosure to watch. A great place to visit with children or for a picnic.

Due to the previous neglect the castle practically ended up being a ruin. I loved the modern take on giving the buildings a new purpose and the way the renovations are executed. Many people will however disagree. So be prepared for something different. If you enjoy the typical styrofoam 3D model and some "period-correct" junk piled up in the rooms better visit some other castle.

Nice castle, but could do with more information panels so the visitors know what they're looking at and its history.

Place closed, generally no bicycle-friendly. I sincerely hope, the dragon I saw there 20 years ago is still there!
