Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib in Dehradun is a philanthropic organization of the Udaseen sect . Sri Guru Ram Rai ji, the eldest son of the seventh Guru of the Sikhs- Sri Har Rai ji, had established it for protecting and spreading the traditions, ideals and philosophies of Hinduism Dehradun owes its name and history to the emergence of Sri Guru Ram Rai ji who came to this then small , green Arcadian abode way back in 1676. This is based in Jhanda Mohalla and there is a very High Jhanda which is replaced every year around Holi. After Holi there is a Jhanda Mela every year where there are lots of shops near the Gurdwara which sell toys and other stuff. Enjoyed this paceful space. Lovely well cared for the garden with shaded paths about the Temple. this is a very nice temple and very well maintained and also not very crowded. It is less popular among the tourists. The unique thing is a Guru Granth Saheb which you have to use by pointing at a table. The number of the box which you touch is then located on the opposite page and read. It is supposed to tell you what your future holds in store for you. The Gurudwara is named after the elder son of seventh Sikh Guru Guru Har Rai. Guru Ram Rai is the founder of Dehradun. An annual "Jhanda fair" is held at this gurudwra near holi when lakhs of people visit the place. It is said that the Jhanda or the flag, itself mounts and stands erect during the fair. Recommnded this place.

Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib is a Sikh place of worship dedicated to Baba Ram Rai, the eldest son of Guru Har Rai, the seventh of the ten Sikh Gurus. What amazed me the most is the architecture, including both Islamic architecture and Sikh architecture Do visit this place if you're in Dehradun, you'll get to learn more things about this place. It was an amazing experience

Peaceful place, a must visit for everyone if u visiting dehradun. Historical place. U will get lot of information about Islamic Architecture Whileย Sikh architecture, in general, drew inspiration from Mughal styles, the Darbar Sahib was unique in that it relied more heavily on elements that give it the appearance of a mosque than a conventionalย gurudwara.

Gurudwara Sahib is the foundation of Dehradun. It is here that Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji came and put his jhanda (flag) and built his gurudwara. It is here that unhone apna dera dala tha, thats whay this place was known was dera doon, which eventually turned to Dehradun. The annual Jhande ji ka mela is celebrated here every day, 5 days after Holi and it has a lot of manyata. If you are coming to Dehradun during this time, its a must visit place. You can enjoy the mela with a lot of swings, things to buy at a cheap cost and enjoy the delicacies of dehradun. The gurudwara itself is adorned with lights and is a wonderful sight to see.

Really beautiful historical place and quite clean & maintained but in the main city of Dehradun, Uttrakhand. Worth visiting and easily approachable from the Railway station, just a walking distance. The best thing is that the heritage has been preserved and well maintained.

Very calm and full of relaxation, this is one of my favorite Guru Dwara in Dehradun, this is best for meditation and mental peace. You can always come here whenever you want. Shree Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib is aslo famous for its Carnival, which is held every year after 5-14 days after Holi.

All the history of dehradun revolve arround this place, the most beautiful place at the heart of dehradun. There are beautiful historic paintings and inscriptions on the walls of this place. There is soo much to explore there. Like garden and ponds with beautiful fishes. And the markets near that place is too much crowdy but still aura and calmness of this place is pure and pious.

A popular attraction among devotees and tourists, Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara is visited by people from all states and religions. This illustrious holy place is also the oldest of its kind in Dehradun. The Gurudwara showcases a stunning blend of Indo-Islamic architecture with domes, minarets and murals adding a distinctive charm to it. When you step inside, you can see many religious inscriptions as well as murals and portraits of gods, goddesses, saints and sages on the walls. The Gurudwara premises has a huge pond as well.

Not very easily locatable. Although it is very beautiful, but was very dark means had very limited lights. No proper marking of where to go was there. For first time, it was like a bhul bhulaya. A vibe when one visit religious place e was totally missing
