The best place for absolutely fresh, decadent sushi in all of Visalia! Classic sushi options as well as a great list of signature rolls. I tried the lemon drop roll(comes with sliced raw scallop)—a true litmus test for freshness, and I was not disappointed! I will come back time and time again. Service is quick and kind as well!

I am always looking for new places to try, and when I saw this restaurant on "dine and dish," it was a must. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and service on point. The popcorn shrimp 🍤 was a must-have. We would have had 2 of them. The dragon rolls were very good that we had 2 of them. The sashimi was OK, but in all fairness, it was fresh and very tasty. Would we come back? Most definitely. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated and was worth the weight.

A small dumpling appetizer 1 soda A Katsu bento box A basic spicy tuna roll with no extra frills 2 pieces of mochi for dessert The total with basic tip just under $60.. the waiting area up at the front is small and can be cramped. We got seated right in the middle of the restaurant and it was pretty loud. You could hear both parties convos next to you like you were eating with them lmao. My sushi roll was a basic non premium tuna roll and it was boring and for almost $10 I could have gotten a more exciting sushi roll at the grocery store. The chicken katsu bento box was pretty good though and although it was $20ish dollars for that alone it was enough to share between two people. The dumplings were mid and over priced as an app. The two pieces of mochi as a dessert were dressed up with some whip cream and was a sad excuse for a $5 dollar dessert. The service was mediocre, they do not dedicate servers to tables and a few servers all float around and help all tables which can be chaotic and cause order confusion. The guy owner walking around with a lady who was shadowing him was very nice. The servers were kind but very busy and curt but not rude. Super busy for a Tuesday evening. Would I go again? Not unless I absolutely wanted to.

They don’t do reservations which makes sense they are always packed so it said the food is great ! Our go to are green goblin, oo la la, Tiger and Newnew. The service is amazing, the workers always make sure to come to your table even if they aren’t your waiter/waitress to see if everything is okay. Depending on the time of day we get seated quickly but they also do takeout as well. Overall best sushi place I’ve tasted!

Green goblin and ooh la la rolls tasted great and fresh. Oh-toro was okay. Side salad has a dressing that beat out almost any other I’ve had. Good prices and good food.

I would describe Sushi Kuu as a fun place to eat. The atmosphere is loud and bustling, so don't expect a quiet meal. Our service was attentive and the wait was only about 5 minutes on a busy Saturday night. We dined on miso soup and sushi rolls...the shrimp tempura roll and the volcano roll. Both were delicious and well presented. I do feel they were a bit small, so my suggestion would be to order 3 rolls for 2 people.

Some of the freshest fish we’ve had! I got the Poprocks roll and a spicy tuna roll, and my husband got the Sushi Nigiri Set. We got there about 10 minutes after they opened for dinner and it was already half way filled up. They have incredible fast service, but we felt rushed out (in and out in less than 30 min). People were already waiting for tables at the front by the time we left — it fills up quickly on a Friday night!

Me and my wife came here for early dinner after a long work week. I am not a big fan of Sushi but I wanted to take my wife out for something a bit different than our usual American food. In short this place really delivered and I was really surprised at how much food we got for the price very unexpected. I will let the pictures tell the story but would recommend but get there early as we were leaving around 6PM there was quite the line forming outside.

Great experience and love the vibes. This is definitely a busy place with great food. Sashimi was not as fresh as I expected, but the bento box did come with a good amount of Sashimi pieces. Ramen and calamari were not the best I had but enjoyable.

Bento box is filling comes with a side salad as well. Chicken teriyaki is flavorful and tender. Beef slices are thin and melt in your mouth. California rolls are good and taste like most California rolls I've tried. Called ahead to order and picked up but I would like to dine in soon; the atmosphere was very inviting and tables are spaced out nicely. Staff is quick to greet each customer and make sure everyone has been helped.

Incredible sushi restaurant located in Visalia CA. Was not expecting this to be honest. The sushi was full of flavor, very fresh, and the roll options were creative in design and flavors. The ramen (spicy pork ramen) was also a must! The flavors were bold yet complimenting of all the ingredients. The pork slices where a bit think for my liking but I will say I prefer too think then too thin. It's a hard balance but too thin tends to overcook in the broth too quickly so if has to be, I'd rather it be too thick. The staff was super friendly and everyone of the staff was co Stanly on top of things to make sure guests never waited for anything. For a packed restaurant this was an incredible feat and proof of the pride here. The only gripe was the Wasabi paste can vary in potency from night to night. Our first visit it was very weak but the next night. ... well... it was packing punches, which we all enjoyed. If you are in the area you must try this location out! Get the spicy pork ramen and swap in Udon noodles! Also try my favorite roll there, the green goblin.

Excellent quality of fishes! Very fresh! They use real Wasabi instead fake powder. My first time ever see a restaurant write down each of fish name on the take out box by the their positions, this give me a hint that clearly knows what I’m having. Definitely worth every penny. Keep up the good work!!

Ok there is good sushi places then there are GREAT SUSHI PLACES!!! This one falls under great. They have the coolest no section service which means every server is your server and they all are so helpful and kind. We tried the pineapple saki and Man it was good. With a light beer. We had the lion king roll, green goblin (not pictured) and another super awesome one. But they were all so delicious. The environment was fun in downtown visalia. Also the owner Albert (I believe that was his name) was front and center making sushi. Also the other sushi chefs were so kind and helpful. We ended up needing our 3rd roll to go. And they boxed it up no problems. If I could this place would get a 10 out of 5. I will be back fs.

When I came in with my sister, we had 2 strollers, one for my 10 month old and one for her 4 year old with autism. They asked us how many and we said only us as the two adults would be eating. The waitress then snapped at us and said "Okay so four??? They're people too." we said oh okay yeah four. Then she told us because of our strollers we would either have to sit with them lined up against the table or leave. We had no problem doing this at all, but just thought her tone was off putting. Then, she GRABBED my daughter's stroller to try and move it herself. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. I don't understand why anyone in their right mind as a STRANGER would grab someone's stroller with their child in it. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told that there was no manager and then that the boss in the back would not come out if they asked her to. I've been here so many times and had otherwise great experiences so this is super shocking to me. I would understand if the strollers were an inconvenience in a packed restaurant, but it was just us and one other guy at the time + we abided by fire department rules. So confused and sad.

Nice fresh sushi. Really good food, interesting selection of beers. Broths for hot dishes were delicious. Sushi had good flavor and nice combinations of textures. Wish you could order half rolls to be able to try more kinds. Will definitely be back!

Sushi Kuu has been on my "to try" list for months. Highly recommended by colleagues and hailed as probably the best sushi in the central valley. I was warned early on to expect a wait and they weren't kidding. But I could tell that it is the kind of waiting people are willing to ensure for good food, because we went during peak dinner hours and the place was packed out the whole time but cooks and employees were constantly serving and cooking. The wait wasn't a problem of efficiency, just a symptom of high demand! I really appreciated their wait staff service model. No specific waiter was designated (if they were, it was tough to tell) because everyone was checking on all tables. Someone new was always checking what food needed to be sent out, someone else checked on us to bus the table, and someone else took care of our ticket. This was extremely efficient, and showed that all were invested in quick quality service. Finally, the food was fresh and top notch! I normally dislike the shoyu sauce that accompanies tempura but theirs is flavorful! I normally dislike pickled ginger with my sushi but theirs you could tell was either made in house or is a much higher quality purchased product than other sushi places around. It was the only thing I needed with my baked scallop sushi roll. I will definitely be bringing my family here when I get the chance!

The service was really nice! The waitresses and waiters genuinely care and are sweet. This was my first time trying it here! The lighting and atmosphere was cozy. The food got to us fairly quickly. I had the spicy pork ramen. I asked for no pork belly because I’m not the biggest fan of it, though the broth still tasted pretty strong of pork belly. My sister loved her bento box! We also got some California Rolls with Spicy Mayo and it was YUM! Hence the “Sushi” in the name, I’d say it’s the main dish to get :) I’d recommend going between 11am-1:45 for faster service if that is what you are looking for. I understand why it would get pretty busy after 4:30. I’d definitely come again if I’m craving some Sushi!

Have always heard good things and finally went in to check it out. The service was amazing, I barely had the words out of my mouth and the dishes began appearing. Everything was absolutely delicious. They were easily able to accommodate vegetarian needs and made special rolls on request. Great selection of craft beers as well. I will be coming here again!

On September 22, around 1 pm, I came in to eat and ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. I ate about a quarter of my food and took home left overs and upon looking more closely at the food, I FOUND A PRESS ON NAIL! Absolutely disgusting. I felt so sick. The entire nail was mixed into the food. I called SushiKu the next day and spoke to DIANA. She told me servers are not allowed to wear nails. Obviously they do since I was staring at one in my food. They offered me NO REFUND or ANY type of help. I will not come back. I have been ignored multiple times through phone calls and emails. NO one provided me any resolution. So if you decide to eat here and find something in your food, or are simply unhappy, do not expect any help. VERY UNSANITARY.
