Got some arepas and empanadas to go. Most items are $5-10. They heat up the corn cakes on the griddle and stuff them according to order. The chorizo is a little greasy and messy but that's probably what makes it taste so good!

Delicious! Best arepa place I've been to so far and I live in NYC where we have many choices! They're food is prepared with authentic Venezuelan flavor which makes all the difference. Staff is very friendly, great hospitality! When in Pittsburgh, definitely visit Arepittas!

Found this spot online, it was a few blocks from my hotel so I decided to give it a try since I grew up in Venezuela. Nice and cozy place, not too big, not too small. Great food options, the attention was very nice. I decided to try the Pabellon Criollo which is a typical dish from Venezuela and it did not disappoint. The place is run by a family, it felt like I was visiting relatives in my own country, very nice vibe. Definitely give it a try if you are visiting the Steel City or if you are a local, the food is legit, take it from a Venezuelan national.

So delicious. Not that I would know what authentic Venezuelan food tastes like, but I’m pretty sure this is it. The shredded chicken I had on my taco may be one of the most delicious chicken dishes I’ve ever had. Looks to be a family-run business and we had exceptionally kind service. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

I got one of the vegetarian bowls and a chicha, and I'm in love! It was all so good. It was the perfect end to my day. So many delicious flavors, and it was made right then while I waited. And the chicha, if you're not familiar, tastes (to me) like a thicker version of horchata (which is my favorite drink). This drink ties for first place on my list of favorite beverages. Thank you!

We loved the authentic arepas and taquenos at Arepitta. Very friendly service and delicious food. We always get the taquenos to share between a handful of folks and an arepa per person. We will be back soon!

This place is quite cheap and very high quality! From the outside, it does look like a small, hole in the wall place. The inside is pretty unassuming, too. However, this seems like a family run place which is always great. I ordered a shredded chicken empanada, 2 shredded beef empanadas, a cachapa, choriqueso empanada, and churros. I really quite liked everything! First of all, I account capitalize the value you get for this place. These empanadas are hefty and can make a decent meal in and of themselves. I especially recommend this spot if you are a student. The shredded beef empanadas were definitely my favorites. It was flavorful, filling, and the corn was not too gritty. In fact, it was more silky. The shredded chicken was also great. Neither of the meat based empanadas had chewy beef. The meat was tender and delicious. I took a risk with the choriqueso empanada, and had mixed feelings about it. If you like chorizo, definitely give it a try, since it is full of chorizo! However, I never tried chorizo, so it was an odd flavor. The cheese was great, though. The garlic sauce was tasty, and so was the pink sauce, and it is a bit sweet. The sauce portions are small but one sauce comes free with each item. The cachapa was a bit sweeter than I expected (comparing it to Cilantro and Ajo), but was still very good. It's a little small but also very inexpensive. I ordered the plain version and thought the cheese was delicious, and it had a ton of cheese. The churros were quite good as well (first time having churros). They made them right in front of me as I was picking up the order. You get 6 and a choice of sauce. They were still warm, but a bit too hard. There wasn't a whole lot of sauce on them, too, but they were still soft and tasty in the inside. Overall, this is a great value place and there is a decently large menu. Seems like an authentic Venezuelan place. I recommend trying the beef empanadas most!

Great authentic Venezuelan food, with plenty of vegan options as well! I particularly like the eggplant arepa, which I ate so quickly I didn't have a chance to take a photo. Pictured is the vegan chorizo arepa with cilantro sauce.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had! This hidden gem is ran by super nice folks who deliver great food at a reasonable price. We make sure to stop here each time we are in or passing through Pittsburgh.

Good fresh food , freshly made on the spot , liked the vegetarian option, staff was friendly but it’s a small place to have dinner with limited seating, better to pick up your lunch or dinner and have it in your home….I liked the bowl with grilled veggies, beans and sweet plantains.. tasty and filling… staff’s communication can be better…

this has to be one of the BEST Venezuelan-style restaurant at Pittsburgh. It's a family owned restaurant and the family really care about their food. I had a great opportunity to join a group of friends to eat here. We interviewed the family and one of the guy told us, "my father once told me that to make food when you're happy and not when you're mad because when you're happy, you make food out of love" well this is very true because the food that i received was incredibly good for a good price! I got a tradition chicken taco, quesillo, and a passion fruit juice! I asked the server at the front if they have orange juice but they told me that today's special was passion juice and my first reaction was "okay this is new let me give it a try" turns out i made a great decision because the passion fruit juice was SO refreshing and good! I can't stress how good this place is! 10/10 :)

Me and my girlfriend wanted to grab a quick bite before continuing on our adventures through Pittsburgh and this hit the spot. It was sooo freakin good haha. We got two of the most popular items on the menu, one had beef and the other was veggie. They made them quickly and we were on our way after gulping them down. The only downside was the price was a bit high but it seems like that is becoming more of a recurring theme nowadays.

While staying downtown for work, I sought an interesting lunch and found Arepittas on Google and when I saw they were a Venezuelan restaurant and the reviews were amazing, I walked here to give them a try. Service was excellent… friendly and helpful! Their menu is quite nice and varied, with empanadas and arepas, as well as many other delicious options. I opted for their Reina Pepiada arepa and a side of yuca, with sides of their avocado green sauce and spicy green sauce. Everything was excellent! The sauces were tasty and the arepa was excellent! Yuca we really good too. Definitely recommend stopping in… Really good eats here!!

Love this little place! I've had the eggplant empanadas twice! Excellent caramelized corn flour slightly sweet shell! Also had the homemade tres leches desert very good. Opened till 8pm , I believe they're closed Sunday. The place seems to be getting busier and busier.

Incredible! So fresh and delicious. Whoever said it was the best lunch in Pittsburgh was 100% correct! So good! Get the cilantro sauce with whatever dish you order.

Arepa and empanada were delicious. Arepa was overpriced by a few dollars. Service incredibly friendly. Tres leches had an unpleasant cream cheese icing that we’ve never had on tres leches before - and was tiny for the price. Took a while for food to be prepared, but that meant it was fresh! Would order empanadas and arepas again.

There are quite a few tables inside and a few sidewalk seating. The food is freshly made and absolutely delicious! I got an arepa with vegan chorizo and a black bean empanada.

Absolutely the best Empanadas I've ever tried. We don't live in Pittsburgh and now my greatest desire is to find somewhere semi-local making Venezuelan food!!!!

Out of towner review, to go review: Ordered some arepas through door dash the other day. Only rating on food quality. Overall, the food was pretty good. The arepa with avocado, chicken, and cheese was fantastic (Arepa Sifrina) That was very good and I’d imagine that with eggs is just as good if not better. The Arepa Vegan Chorizo, however, was not that good. More sloppy Joe like, very greasy and oily. I’m sure is better with pork but I don’t eat that. Finally, ended things off with the plantains, which were good but not the best I’ve had. I probably won’t go with getting the cheese on top the next time. Oh, and the spicy cilantro was good and not too spicy, while the garlic sauce had a powerful garlic kick. Enjoy!
