This
is
a
wonderful
park
for
a
short
walk
through
or
a
long
visit,
especially
with
children.
It
is
a
block
away
from
either
Yu
Yuan
or
the
Bund.
It's
a
great
spot
for
a
short
break
in
the
middle
of
the
downtown
bustle
with
lots
of
shade
and
peaceful
scenery.
In
late
September/early
October
it
is
Osmanthus
season
and
this
park
is
full
of
the
beautiful
smelling
trees.
In
my
experience
it
has
the
most
and
densest
number
of
them
close
to
central/
Bund
area
of
Shanghai.
I've
tried
describing
the
unique
scent
but
words
fall
short
-
sweet
nectarine/peaches
doesn't
capture
half
of
it,
the
best
description
I've
heard
is:
If
dreams
of
paradise
have
a
scent,
this
is
it.
The
land
comprising
the
park
has
an
interesting
recent
history
and
there
are
several
nooks
and
areas
that
make
exploring
the
park
worthwhile.
Our
young
children
like
coming
here
to
walk
in
the
bamboo
area
(a
mini
bamboo
forest),
run
on
the
mini-path
and
climb
the
rocks
on
the
south-east
edge,
run
in
the
open
area,
and
clamber
about
everywhere
in
between.
If
you
have
a
stroller
you
may
need
to
wander
around
to
find
the
ramped
areas
unless
it
is
light
enough
to
lift
4-5
steps
at
a
time,
and
some
paths
you
will
have
to
leave
it
behind.
