Best food I had in Shanghai hands down. There is no English menu on the wall, if you ask politely the server at the door will show you a printed english version so you can make your choices. I would recommend the pork and crab xiaolongbao and the plain pork version. Each are as good, if not better, than the far more expensive restaurants like Din Tai Fung which is so overpriced it's crazy. It's super cheap, incredible flavour and a good chance to see a traditional district of Shanghai (Laoximen) before they move everyone out to open a few more Starbucks and McDonalds stores instead. Well worth a visit.

Fresh soup dumplings with thin skins at a super affordable price. Turns out that I don't appreciate the freshness of pork so getting the mixed dumpling set helped to mask the flavour. It is a little out of the way but I enjoy wandering around neighbourhoods.

While tourists and amateurs go to overrated Yuyuan Garden or even worse: DTF. Shanghai locals go to Lin Long Fang. Found out abt this place on Dianping, rated five stars, went to try it and it did not disappoint. Go for the simplest no-frill pork xiaolongbao, get the sweet vinegar with ginger slices (美丝)and a bowl of noodle or soup. For those who don’t read Hanzi/Chinese, ask for English menu (英文菜单-yingwen caidan). Accepts Alipay and cash. The cashier lady aka #GIRLBOSS is extremely helpful and funny, bless her! The most amazing thing is you get to see how these baozi are made, perfect material for your Instagram.

Great spot, highly recommend! I’ve been staying in and exploring this area of Shanghai for the last three weeks and have gone to Lin Long Fang at least four times. Very reasonably priced and authentic. You’ll definitely see locals there, a sign that the food is on point! Some of my favorites: -Xiao Long Bao (go early if you want just plain pork, they sell out fast!) -La Rou Mian (spicy meat noodles) they have a BBQ pork taste to them and the noodles are perfectly chewy The wontons are also really tasty!

Visited this small, local restaurant in Shanghai! Xiaolongbao have been very good and tasty (we had pork and crab). It is very cheap compared to other restaurants and the taste is really good if you want to try something local. Close to the restaurant (~1 km) is Tianzefang which is worth a visit - it shows a part of old Shanghai (very narrow streets) but it is full of tourists 😉

👍👍 The best place for Xiao Long Bao - soup dumplings. You will most likely need to queue here. We arrived on a weekday at around 12.20pm and didn't get seated until around 1.15pm. Although, we walked past here the next day at around the same time to visit a soup dumpling place opposite, and the queue...

👍 Basically, it fits well with Koreans. The representative foods are Mapo tofu and Dongpa meat, so you can add a side dish of vegetables. And I will recommend deusigil as white rice rather than fried. It was more delicious.

👍 The buns are good especially the crab juice one is one of the best. The environment is ok and during the meal time there’s a line so it’s better to avoid meal time.
