This place is pretty expensive but there is a good reason why: the chocolates and other treats are amazing! Best thing I have eaten here are the dark chocolate salted carmels. Unbelievably tasty! Service is always fast and extremely polite. The whole shop smells like scrumptious treats and specialty coffees. It really isn’t any place to eat or sit down inside or out, but don’t let that stop you. If you find yourself in the Latin Quarter in Galway, make this one of your stops!

My favorite place to grab a coffee when in Shop Street. It’s a little bit more expensive than the other coffee shops in the area, but you get a free chocolate and to be fair the taste it’s worth it. I always hear good feedback when reccomending this place to friends. The hot chocolate is my favourite.

One of the best hot chocolate in town, very nice quality in chocolate, the place is small,, it has only 2 tables, it like a take away place more than a cafe. Depending on the hour you go, it can be really busy.

I have to compliment all the staff in shop street Galway! Always so pleasant. Know my order and listen carefully in case there's a change! It might be a bit pricey but there's a complimentary chocolate!!! Great atmosphere, warm and welcoming! Looking forward to my next visit!!!

The service was good but the chocolates weren't for my taste, either too sweet or too salty.

Please update your closing time , on Friday we were in-front of the shop at 18:40 and it was closed.

The hot chocolates with marshmallows and crème are a must try. Definitely recommend Butlers if you’re out in Galway city!

What Coffee should taste like , creamy foamed milk where you taste coffee and not boiled milk like many Coffee shops , consistently good every time

After lunch, we headed here for hot chocolate. My daughter got the usual hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, while I had the wonderful black hot chocolate. Along with our beverages, we each got to pick two chocolates. Although there isn't much seating inside the café, we were able to find a bench outside. would come back again.

This is a great place for coffee and hot chocolate! However it is a bit of a challenge to get into when it's raining as the canopy spills water all over you. It looks like it needs replacing. My friend and I got soaked by the canopy more so than the rain. At least we got hot chocolates to warn us up!
