Came there with calf running injury, had 8 appointments during 12 months (as waiting times are really long, cause doctors work elsewhere as well), left there a lot of €€€, but no improvement. They gave me steroid injection to my back and my ankle, not sure if it makes sense for calf injury or they just wanted to milk me a bit. Appointments are usually under 10 min, always same examination, and same questions. Last appointment I was asked to send blood test results, which I did, and I also asked for the next steps, but never got any answer, asked again and nothing. So nope, not very impressed, went back to my old physio and things are finally getting better now. Will not bother next time.

I had an appointment with one of consultant there for my painful knees and hips. He did a quick assessment for my knees. I got some advice for my knees. When I was asking about my hips, he told me that he has examined my my hips and they are fine. ( But he didn't.) I told him but I'm in pain. He said he's a surgeon. If you want to have a surgery, then he can help me. He can do nothing for it. Or even didn't offer other options like a X-ray or go for physical therapy. That was so unprofessional and no empathy at all. A terrible experience. I'll never go back again.

I was referred here by my GP for a shoulder injury. An MRA was performed followed by a meeting with the specialist. When asked about the history of the injury I referenced the car accident that caused it. This was met immediately with "I can't prove that" and the tone of the meeting changed. I was forwarded for a cortisone injection. But no follow up, no rehab. I had asked specifically on the day of the injection what should I do as rehab post injection, the response being "give it about 2 weeks and do what you were doing before". I really didn't feel like a paying customer with this place.

Unfriendly staff. The reception was impolite. The therapist was so cold with absolute 0 empathy, 0 smile, no care and no communication. The therapist did some examination and gave me 3 exercises to do. But he didn't explain even a word for me what his diagnosis is. I asked questions, about what muscles are involved in this move, or why is he suggesting this move, each time he left me with no answer. He left me blank. At the end he said come back next week to check the improvement. Obviously , they just wanted me to come back and pay 85 eur again...to get 3 more exercises and be treated this way! Way too expensive for this poor service. Fancy building, equipments and tools, but very poor customer service, consultation and communication.

Very bad experience with the surgery underwent at this clinic as I was left much worse than when I originally went for treatment,. Interesting to see that they are called "Sports surgery Clinic" when they basically destroyed what was left of my athletic life. I would recommend you get a second opinion if you go there, specially out of Ireland. You might be surprised that you might not need surgery and you can get better with conservative and or alternative treatments. Doubt always a place that offers only one solution: Surgery, when surgery should be always the last option when other treatments don't work. What other treatments are offered here and how many options ( other than surgery and physio?) are offered? ask yourself this because there are plenty of options that this place don't offer. Never again will go there, specially to Owen Brady's practice. Neither customer service from the secretary or empathy from the doctor are at work in that place. I can firmly say I have spoken more to the secretary to this doctor. As others have mentioned, money is the priority and not the well being of the patient. Stay away and look for a second opinion always. Possibly outside Ireland. You will be surprised that the Hippocratic Oath is really followed and practiced elsewhere, not here. Thanks.

I put one star because It won’t let me put less. This place is all about money. I went to this clinic in two different occasions, each of them months of duration with a harmstring problem and still like day one. But with a lot less money. Its a rip off place, have to ring reception for the physio to read emails and answer. No follow up, just comeback after exercises a few weeks later and pay more money, sure i can do that through google! Still waiting a month later for one of them to contact me. Don’t care anymore since I won’t touch this place again Stay away!!

Went to see a Dr. there because I'm injuried for a long time now and it is known as the best clinic in ireland but it's way too expensive to get wrong diagnostic, went there with a lower back mri (where the problem actually is) Dr. said my problem was on my hips which I had to take a mri for, summarising left the clinic thinking my hip was the problem as the Dr. said but it actually isn't, that made me try a lot of different technique on my hip for nothing.

Clinic is lovely & clean, staff at reception & day ward not very friendly. The cost for a cubicle that they leave you sitting in for hours waiting for your procedure is ridiculous as well as the cost for the car park! I would not recommend going here, they are one of the reasons our private healthcare is soo expensive over €500 to sit on a chair for over two hours after my appointment time waiting for my procedure, this has now happened me twice so seems to be the norm.

I had a terrible experience at the SSC & would nother recommend anyone to go here for any procedure. It is more like a buisness than a hospital. From the minute I landed at level 3 things went downhill. My treatment for ACL reconstruction was almost €9000 . Even the day of my surgery I was charged €100. I was shown zero empathy and found the whole experience terrifying. I was visibly anxious and upset and not one person consoled me. I had to share a small room & the nurses were all filipino. When I went down on the lift for my ACL surgery I was upset in the lift and while I waited for the anesthetic. My surgeon arrived after the injection was put in my hand to deliver the anaesthetic I was crying to myself & he said to me ' we don't have to go through with this it's up to you' next I knew I was out for count and woke in a large recovery room with a sea of beds .I was eventually wheeled upstairs and put into bed. 30 min later I was given tea & toast. I was absolutely starving and was told I missed the evening meal. Nobody came near me & eventually a nurse passed and I shouted that I needed to go to the toliet...I was lying on bed for 5 hrs bef I was taken out of bed & the nurse told me the reason my leg was so sore was because I hadn't moved it in hours...ah this wasn't my fault . My consultant arrived around 6.30 am he said well how are you & I proceeded to tell him that my leg was extremely painful .his reply was just unreal he said ' well it was your own decision to have the surgery' gave me a handshake & off he went. A physio arrived for 10 min told me wiggle my toes and showed me how to walk with crutches. I rang buzzer for someone to take jnjectuon out if hand it was painful. My husband came got me out of bed dressed & we left .An older foreign woman with glasses was at desk she looked up then back down as we passed by .no checkout no goodbye nothing. It was the worst experience of my life...I have heard of so many negative experiences since...& advice given was to go private in a public hospital I wish I knew this before my doctor recommended this place#SCARY

I recently left the SSC after a sucessful hip relacement operation. The care I received from all the medical staff, nurses and consultant was amazing. I am only back home one day, and I am already pain free. I can't thank them enough, and I am more than happy to recommend the SSC to anyone requiring surgery.

Went in because I was having trouble with my left leg. GP referred me. Spent €250 to see one of the doctors, who after 20 minutes, told me my left leg is weaker than my right, I've known that since I learnt I was right footed 40 years ago!! Then wanted another €150 to come back in and get some exercises to do. Rip off ireland is alive and well in this place. Avoid

If you use this clinic stay away from Ronan Mckeown, he will charge you big money and do nothing. On my second visit he didn't do anything but charged me and now he is threatening to bring me on court for 150 that he didn't do anything for... Stay away from this clinic, you can find better...

Maybe this place has got enough business. Been trying to ring for many times - never got an answer. When finally got through, the girl didn’t really care what you needed then jumped straight to ask whether you wanna book an appointment. Showed no passion as if she hated her job! That’s not how customer service works!

modern clinic and nice doctors. however.. not impressed at all with service at the Radiology desk, and the secretary of my Doctor. Huge communication gaps.. not answering emails or phones... have to keep ringing other departments to escalate... for 200 euro a visit an expectation is a bit higher.

My mother Patricia had osteo arthritis in both her knees for a number of years and was in a lot of pain. She had a bi-lateral knee replacement in January performed by Mr. Ray Moran & returned yesterday March 15 for her post op review & got the all clear. She is now pain free & walking unaided. She would like to pay tribute to Mr. Moran & his excellent staff who are all so pleasant & professional.

Visited Maxillofacial Surgeon Cliff Beirne to discuss options regarding the repair of a deviated septum. To set this appointment up was initially extremely frustrating. The secretary was slow in response to e-mails, and sometimes did not respond at all. I paid 180 Euros to get a 5 min meeting where the doctor told me to set up an appointment for scans and to return once that was done. I E-Mailed once again to set up an appointment for the scans and yet again, no response. As a direct result of this poor customer service I decided to not waste my time further. I visited another surgery and was told that there was no need for the additional scans. Overall, the doctor himself seemed friendly, however the extremely poor manner in which admin is handled is not worth the frustration. Highly advise seeking treatment for this elsewhere.

A state of the art facility with exceptional staff . Can not fault the care or procedures given . After such attention to detail by the medical team and clerical team ,it was ruined my the attempt to get a cup of coffee in the cafe . No staff training was in evidence ! I waited as a lady was being served ( she was quite elderly so it took some time ) I waited patiently , not once did the server make eye contact with me , acknowledge me perhaps a β€œ with you in a moment β€œ or even call on other member of staff ( there were 3 staff in total ) I waited in line for at least 5 minuets .... but feeling invisible I sat for 5 minuets for the β€œqueue β€œ to clear . I returned to the counter a gentleman before me waiting on coffee . I waited and waited and waited , was not acknowledged by a staff member. One member of staff was tidying up around the coffee area one on the till . They had neither interest nor concern about their customers . I left . I walked to costa coffee got an excellent welcome & service with a smile . Surely this can be improved on !

I had a sports injury which was imaged by SSC, followed by physio. The facility is top class and the physios were very nice. I'm giving one star because of administrative errors on their end. Their mistakes, on more than one occasion, have delayed my recovery by at least four weeks, which is unacceptable. Reading the other comments, it is clear they have administration problems.

Covered under health insurance and referred by GP for an MRI and they refused to do it. Same thing happened a family member a few months ago. Apparently they are too busy. Would go elsewhere if you need treatment. Not impressed.

I couldn't recommend the hospital enough. The staff was amazing , the orthopaedic surgeon Mr. Withers took an excellent care of my knee , I wouldn’t go anywhere else for an orthopaedic surgery. The hospital is very modern, with super comfortable rooms. Staff was very supportive and friendly. I am very pleased with the service. *****

After being bed bound with crippling sciatica for over a month, recovering through exercise, then relapsing back to being bed bound, I decided to get a gp referral to the SSC for a specialist opinion. SSC were highly recommended by a friend who had a lot of work done on his ankle. I had to get my initial MRI scan done externally for the referral as SSC were too busy to handle out patients. Once referred, I met my surgeon (Michael Kelleher) who found an extremely herniated lumbar disc, and I was given the option for surgery, which I agreed to. I went in for surgery literally 7 days later (a miracle given Ireland's rep for medical backlogs), and I haven't looked back since. Sciatica was gone immediately post-surgery, and the pain from the surgery itself was a minor inconvenience in comparison. I am now nearly 4 weeks post op and have regained full movement, ability to drive etc. I still need to take it easy to prevent the risk of re-herniation, but I can definitely say I have my life back again, and I am incredibly grateful to all the staff at SSC. Edit : I am now 9 months post op and going for surgery was still the best decision I ever made. My back is perfect!

I couldn't have been put off more from the initial call. I rang to enquire about the cost and how do I see a consultant, I was put through the a woman with the worst attitude I have ever seen in my life. I actually ended saying to her that She was clearly in extremely bad form or hated her job. I would rather go anywhere else than SSC. I was even told by other people who had visited that when you meet the consultant you get very very little time and they don't really answer any questions. It is clearly bad management 0 out of 5 if they let me

I had an unrepairable torn shoulder tendon. I needed my shoulder for my Ironman swim. I was told it could not be fixed. Went to SCC for a 2nd opinion. Met Dr FRANKLYN Miller who reassured me they could help. Was thrilled relieved amazed. Put me on to their shoulder physio the best in Europe. Edel Fanning was so professional and kind. I went from no external rotation of damaged shoulder to competing in the 70.3 World Championships in Nelson Mandela Bay South Africa on Sept 1st 2018 and was ranked 10th in the World in my age group 65-69. Don't waste your valuable training time go to the experts and get sorted whatever it takes.

Excellent sports injury consultants (based in the sports rehab centre not in the main surgery building) - very thorough and experienced. Very good physios and bio-mechanical assessments too. Be aware that you be given a series of exercises to carry out on your own for a couple of weeks first and then you return to monitor progress. This is NOT a weekly physio visit kind of place. There are plenty of those elsewhere in Dublin if that is what you are looking for.

No Ethos. They actually don't work with patients that need rehab, they make money with surgeries. I crossed over the country to get there and their "fantastic & professional" attention was to send me back to the hospital I was coming from. Oh! the doctor is very well able to read & write; he read me out my own file (who I carried a copy myself) and he did a summary letter of it to the same doctors that original wrote it down to my file. What a medical advice I got!!!!. On top of that they were training another doctor on this abilities... absolutely no shame. I got no answers to any of my questions, no information or review about my state or any recommendation about treatment or rehab, or anything to do... nothing, nothing at all except for a reading and a letter of information already known.

I need surgery. My GP referred me to a consultant in SSC, as he believed the wait may be excessive on the public list and I might as well use my insurance. Before the surgery, I require a consultation, naturally. GP referral was sent in 6 weeks ago. I have an appointment to see consultant for the first time in March 2023. God only knows how long the wait for the actual surgery will be afterwards.

Appalling service. My doctor sent them a letter requesting a private consultation for me in early August and I heard nothing until yesterday, almost 5 months later! Thankfully I took action and went elsewhere after waiting in vain for 2 weeks, but this is quite an appalling service for quite an expensive place!I’m sorry to say the negative reviews posted here seem to be true. How on earth are doctors still sending patients to this place is beyond me! I went back to mine after the lack of response from this place I didn’t even know it existed, showed him the reviews from here and asked to be referred as a private patient to a public hospital, and got a reply from them within days with surgery within weeks!! It says a lot that even after all the bad reviews posted here from former patients, the Clinic doesn’t make it a priority to improve and change everything that is clearly not working. But Times are changing and patients are getting wiser and more confident, and we are now making decisions over where to go, regardless of what the GPs are recommending! Sports Surgery Clinic people, if you want to still be around in a few years time I’d recommend you fix everything that is not working ASAP, or you’ll be left fixing Barbies legs for a living! Until then, Avoid!

He has the patience of a saint and answers every question with detailed explanations which helped to put my nerves at ease as I have ptsd and anxiety, going under anasthesia is frightening but Dr Gavin surely made my experience less traumatizing. I'd trust him with my life without a doubt.

I walked into SSC without a limp for a partial knee replacement. Almost seven months later I a in constant pain unable to walk. The response from SSC is that they do not employ surgeons they only rent them rooms. The response of the surgeon is that "my surgery is perfect" BEWARE if surgery goes awry you are on your own. One star awarded because its not possible to write a review with zero stars.

Called your clinic in order to get some help with the booking as I couldn't find the right page and got a woman who instead of supporting me and trying to help started raising her voice and ended up our conversation with the words "poor woman". If this how you treat your potential clients, I don't even want to know what happens when they eventually come for help. Thanks for ruining my mood.

Had a 2 physio appointments with David. He conducted a great consultation, was very thoughtful, able to understand my problems and refer me to a different consultant. Highly recommend the whole team, very professional. Looking forward to my next visits at Sports Injury Clinic. Thank you! Natalia

Just use Google and get yourself some exercises instead dog paying a physio to tell you them. Hand out exercises come back next week give you more and so on......

Today was my second time attending Mr. Beirne for oral surgery here. Such a lovely man and really put my mind at ease especially the first time I attended completely distraught for a broken jaw the morning after being assaulted. My granny has also attended Mr Beirne and found him to be such a lovely man, she was who recommended him. Genuinely caring and fixed my jaw in the least invasive way with a very fast recovery. My most recent visit for wisdom teeth extractions went just as well and the staff are seriously a credit to the clinic, from reception staff to staff nurses and the anesthesiologist, so friendly, attentive and again very caring for the patients they look after. As for the clinic itself it's lovely and modern, spotlessly clean as you would expect and they provide everything you need for a day case, a safe to store your wallet and phone during surgery and even down to providing you with a comfy robe and slippers to relax in before and after your surgery. If you have the money to spend or insurance coverage to choose where you can get your elective surgery done I would highly recommend the sports surgery clinic.

Steer clear breached equality and disability laws. This company is dangerous. They try to force all people to wear masks despite government legislation providing exemptions. They also state a visor must be worse but refuse to provide details of the make / model of visor. The same with hand sanitiser. They ask to use but refuse to provide ingredients or volume to be used. Lastly their reception breached data protection / privacy slaws by discussing my personal / medical needs with a third party.

Got wisdom teeth removed here by Dr Cliffe Beirne. After first surgery I had a constant infection which I was given several antibiotics over weeks with severe pain. After me insisting on looking into it I was told to get an xray only to find there was shattered tooth left in the socket. After the second surgery & bruises healed with very strong pain killers I was left with numbness/tingling/pain that never left over 10 years later. It still flares up & drives me mad. Its like an anesthetic thats only half worn off. Never got even the slightest apology & nothing done to help me, just useless repeat appointments that I had to take time off work for where he shook my hand & said that I wouldn't be charged for. Just told its untreatable!
