Great recreational facility for families, walkers, athletes, mountain bikers, dogs etc. The kids playground even has a zip-wire. You can walk over the hilly terrain for miles on hard path or natural ground. It's actually quite easy to get lost but if you are unfamiliar with the area, there is a ver simple walk over and back from the Cratloe gate to the Meelick gate and it's exactly 4km each way.

Beautiful woodland walk with lake. Stunning views at the top. Definitely recommend for little adventurers. Pack a lunch, feed the ducks and stop off at the playground that is crafted from wood to blend into the natural environment. Great day out.

Perfect for mild hikes, long walks and runs. Beautiful views of river Shannon and limerick city from an altitude. Very peaceful and picturesque. As usual some nuisance by some of the lousy dog owners not keeping dogs on lead .

It's a pleasant walk. The playground is well equipped but could do with a refresh and some maintenance in some areas.

Great place for kids and adults alike, and totally free of charge can't understand why there's not more people using the facilities.

Cratloe Wood ambience parking space, free of cost, best option for the trekkies, gets its name from the Irish for 'Land of Sallow Trees'. Beside the small village of Cratloe are the Cratloe forests, which were originally primeval oak woods. In the ninth century this was a Mc Namara territory and was invaded by warriors from the Kingdom of Aileach in Ulster. These men took wood from Cratloe to build the roof of the royal palace of Aileach in Ulster.

Forest Park with children's playground. Lots of hiking/walking trails for all levels of fitness. Lovely short walk to the lake with picnic tables. Lots of parking available. The biggest issue with the place is people not cleaning up after themselves/dogs. The woods are used as a toilet and people are leaving their waste behind. There is a lot of toilet paper strewn around the place 😑.

Really nice playground and extensive forest walks. Some paths suitable for buggy as well. Great for dog walking. Little lake, if you're lucky there's even ducks..
