A great little gem of a place, our 2.5 year old loved running around making friends with the dinosaurs and collecting the stamps. Having so many buttons to press was deffinately a hit. Great value for money also.

Not the slickest of Natural History museums but certainly scores very high on the interactive aspect. It’s evident that the proprietors are earnest in the scientific aspects of palaeontology with exhibits dedicated to the feathers we now believe dinosaurs to have had, the K-T boundary, etc. Plenty of craft material abounds and everything is accessible save for a narrow staircase not suited to those with mobility issues. There are loads of auditory, tactile and even olfactory stimuli. For the price, you’ll marvel at how the hours disappeared. Kudos must go out to the team at Creative Briefs!

This was great, its only a small place but don't let that put you off, I think the children have had more fun here than any huge museum. Was there for over 2 hours, well worth it. Parking is on nearly roads, found with a five min walk.

Fantastic little place if you have a Dino fan in the family it's a great place to visit. It's not massive but there is lots to look at and learn about plenty of interactive things to do. Just across the bridge from the deep about a 5 minute walk so we combined the two places. Very inexpensive so even if you only spend an hour it's something different.

Took my 2 grandchildren here today. Ages 4 & 3 . They loved it. Its only small but theres plenty for them to see. It cost £9 for 2 adults and 2 kids . Well worth the money if you have kids that love dinosaurs.

My 5 year old loved it. It's cheap, and small but of your little one loves dinosaurs it's worth a visit. It doesn't take long to walk around so we visited the deep before hand, which is minutes drive away. So if your travelling further a field maybe plan something extra.

I've given Dinostar 5 stars mainly because for the size of the place it has plenty of things to read and see and interact with. Went with my wife and daughter and we loved it. Very reasonably priced aswell. Friendly greeting at an enjoyable place which is full of history regarding dinosaurs. Recommend fully

Small but perfectly formed. Don't rush round, look all around you as there is alot to see in this small space. My kids loved it. If your in Hull for the day with your kids definitely pop by and for £9.00 in total for 2 adults and 2 kids, it's fantastic value for money.

Really enjoyed this and thought it was brilliant for cost. Kids spent an hour or so in it playing with digital sandbox and smelling smells and chasing stamps to collect. Really good fun and not publicised the best as rate very highly.

Great fun little place. Well worth the entry fee and the gift shop is reasonably priced. My favourite museum in Hull by far (I enjoyed it much much more than the Deep).

Well worth a visit, small but interesting. My five year old grandson loved it, it took about an hour to go around and he got involved with all the hands-on stuff and rounded it off with a v.r. trip. It's an absolute bargain.

Definitely worth the £3 pound entry, for kids it’s just £1.50. Loved the sand games, the displays and the interactive activities. My 3 year old enjoyed a lot.

Popped today after saying we would for 10 years 🤦🏼‍♀️ our now teen thought it was cool still and enjoyed a good look around. Really wish we'd brought them before now. Good value, friendly staff member, my 13 year old loved how terrified I was on the stairs (they're a bit creaky and bendy 😂). Love that there's so much interaction for kiddos. I really recommend it to families with young children.

My 6 year old absolutely loves it here. It's such a bargain, especially when you consider you get a free child's admission for next time when you complete the stamp sheet (there are 7 different dino stamps to find while you're walking around, which my son loves stamping on the sheet!) The staff are always really friendly and there's plenty of interactive stuff to do.

Special trip for my son 2nd birthday. He was unsure of the dinosaurs even though he loves dinosaurs. He loved the tv upstairs with the T-Rex on screen. My 8yr daughter loved it and had fun looking at the displays and doing the little trail. Small place but definitely worth the visit and will be going back again!! And the shop! Brilliant small collection of toys and really good prices.

Great place to visit when children love dinosaur and the history of them, or if you like the films and very affordable too. Unfortunately I like magnets and they didn't have any very disappointing in that but overall I loved the experience.

A really brilliant, hands-on museum. Don't expect Jurassic Park (spoiler alert - Jurassic Park was just a story). But you will find loads of interesting and fun things to do with dinosaurs. Get up very close to some superb models (I think some people expect to see real dinosaurs). Lots of information if you want it, but you can enjoy the exhibits without reading everything. Very reasonably priced. An inexpensive way to spend an hour or so. Highly recommended, especially for younger dinosaur enthusiasts.

Dinostar, located in the trendy Fruit Market district near the Hull Marina, is truly memorable. If you read a few of the reviews here, you will get the impression it is small. Perhaps that it is a touch on the faded side. Or that it is basically in someone's house. And you would be largely correct. However, until you stand in the slightly musty atrium, take in the 70s era decor, pay your £3 entry cost (£1.50 if you're a minor, in which case get off your parent/guardian's phone you scamp!), and step forth into a new and unknown adventure, you won't truly appreciate this classic of modern day Hull. Dinostar perfects the art of being disappointing in nearly every regard, but making you feel a bit warm inside in the process. Warm enough for a cold morning by the Humber? Maybe if you have a good fleece. The experience consists of a series of rooms, spread over the ground floor and first floor. Honestly, the contents mostly consist of large plastic replicas of dinosaurs. If you had a large stride you could cover the footprint in around 90 seconds, perhaps adding 10+ for the staircase if you took them 2-by-2 (I did). We're talking equivalent to a small Tesco Express in terms of square footage. If you're with little ones with a short attention span, bring biscuits and plan something for after. Highlights of Dinostar: (1) There is an iSandbox on the ground floor, which is an interactive sand pit/projector. It's brilliant. Probably going to eat up 8-12 minutes depending on the attention span. (2) There is a treasure hunt / stamp collecting "game" that you can play as you go round. The stamps are easy to find and a child over the age of 4 could easily complete it unaided. As a Brucie bonus, it allows you a heady £1.50 off at the gift shop* if you spend over £10. (3) There is a "dig up your own fossil" exhibit upstairs, where you brush sand off yet more plastic bones. I would say it's a highlight because you get to wear a hat whilst doing it. Although I had to suspend my love of good hygiene practice to enjoy it. And another thing - that's another sand based activity. Why not call it Sandstar and be done with it? Probably quite a short highlight reel, but there you have it. A note on the staff: the man behind the till greeted us with a warmth that comes from a real satisfaction with life. Good for him. He tip-tapped our ticket requirements into the till like he'd done it a thousand times and still found it stimulating. I was actually a touch jealous of his self-assured demeanour, and panache. In summary, if you have the following requirements/attributes, Dinostar will suit you well: (either/or) -You have 15-20 minutes to kill -You are free on a weekend or half term -You LOVE plastic dinosaur replicas -You like sand Please note: -Opens at 11am, which is odd. -Only open on weekends and half terms. Say goodbye to your Wednesday morning Dino party. -There is some sort of "Virtual Reality" room (it's walls are curtains) which costs ANOTHER £3 to partake in. Needless to say we skipped that. Please note again: *The gift shop is located in the aforementioned atrium. I would say it has an insufficient amount of choice for the size of establishment, and given the establishment is unusually small, you get the picture.

Unfortunately there are free, better, more interesting museums in the area. My 2 year old enjoyed drawing pictures and that's about it. Even collecting stamps when walking round didn't earn him a sticker like similar activities at Streetlife. Glad we went but it definitely wasn't worth the £7.50 to get in.

Super museum. My 6 year old enjoyed it so much. He enjoyed pressing the buttons to hear the noises. He also really enjoyed collecting the stamps and finding all the dinosaurs. The upstairs activities were great. He enjoyed drawing and the other art activities. But the best bit was finding the Dinosaur bones in the sand. Just a brilliant wee museum which perfectly catered to a 6 year old.

Great place for your Dino-obsessed child. Lots of dinosaur related facts as well as a 'stamp sheet' for you to find stamps in return for a prize. It is a good mix of small dinosaur museum and the owners personal collection of dinosaur bones, models and Jurassic Park/world items. At the end of the museum there is a 'play room' of sorts where your child can play with toy dinosaurs, dig up bone replicas as well as play a very nostalgic Jurassic park Computer Game. Only Complaint is that it is a tiny bit tacky, but we have all got to start somewhere. Good place to kill time. would recommend to a dinosaur fan!

Disappointed when I arrived we had to pay £3 adults,£1.50 kids entry after reading it was free entry.Decent enough place for kids upto 10 years old I would say. Myself and kids who are 6 and 11 stayed for just over and hour which was more than enough time.

It was good fair, small because it looked like it used to be a normal 2 storey house so you could stretch the visit our to an hour at a push, but the kids enjoyed it and they had to find the hidden stamps which if you find them all you get a free future admission(this is not a free entry museum as I was wrongly informed)

Although it's small, the kids really enjoyed it. There's interactive things to do such as digging for a skeleton and an interactive sand pit which is great fun for all the family. There's an accessable toilet with baby change. It's cheap and cheerful and will keep the kids entertained for an hour.
