Food is always good and of good quality, huge portion sizes and the staff are always very friendly no matter how busy it is.Can’t fault the place or price at all. Excellent. Also extra mention to Michelle who is wonderful and can’t do enough for you.

You’ll be sure to get a generous helping of beef pork or chicken at Toby carvery in Rotherham. That is one of the reasons why many people go there for the freshly roasted Beef & Lamb joints and of the welcoming atmosphere. You will find there’s also a spacious seating area outside where you can dine unhindered during the English summer. Finding it is easy, it’s right by the Mushroom roundabout in Rotherham.

Me and my partner come regularly for our Sunday dinner. Food is always really nice and if there are any issues staff are always prompt on offering a resolution and are extremely nice. One staff member in particular (Michelle) always goes above and beyond and out her way to say hello and have a friendly chat even on days she is not allocated as our server. She always has a smile on her face is and extremely welcoming. It’s always a pleasure to come for our dinner. Thank you from both me and my partner x

We travel all over the country via our football club & it was our first time at this Rotherham TC , straight away the female staff were very friendly & helpful . The chef was excellent ( as a few times , when you ask for a little more meat , it’s frowned upon) but this certainly wasn’t the case & added to our experience. I would recommend to everyone & if your local , your very lucky people .

We went for a carvery for the first time and the lovely lady walked us through how to get the food. Great customer service will definitely be going again. Just wish we knew the name of the lovely woman who took our orders

Incresible food, went in for a carvery and it was all cooked to perfection! Great selection and a top dessert too. The portion sizes are great and they also cater for a healthy appetite! Top class food, will definitely be visiting again!

It's a lovely pub with very welcoming staff. Plenty of room. Clean. Plenty food and veg. Humongous Yorkshire Puddings! You won't be disappointed. The only negative is putting some more meat on our plates. If you have 4 joints on, please put some good sized slices on our plate. Not bits and bats. We know we can fill up with veg but people come for the meat. Otherwise good meal

First time we’ve been to a Toby Carvery as they don’t often get praise from people I’ve spoken to - however, we couldn’t fault our visit at all today and will be going back again. There was enough space even though there were plenty of people in. The staff were all very friendly on each interaction and each went a bit beyond the normal you’d expect. Food was good and plenty of meats offered - all were fresh and weren’t dried out and were quite good joints. Yorkshires were very good and there was a good selection of hot fresh veg and accompaniments. Prices also very reasonable. Dave at the bar sat us, Marie was doing our serving and Matt on the carvery counter.

The experience was dreadful. We ordered drinks on arrival waited 20 mins spoke to Waitress who said they had been ordered. We were brought drinks eventually then after we had finished our meal the Mgr & waitress brought the original drinks we had ordered telling us they were free because they had been sat on wrong table since we arrived!! But was told "They may be a bit warm. But hey a free drinks a drink isn't it!!! 1 chef trying to carve meat, serve Yorkshire puddings, go to kitchen while queue was getting longer & longer! No where near enough staff on duty. Tables had dirty plates on them, food spillages and just generally dirty. Need more staff on especially at a busy time as they couldn't cope with party in restaurant too!! If it hadn't been for causing a scene I would have asked for a full refund. Totally dissatisfied

Attended for all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast, which was tasty and well cooked. Very busy and only one server which was a little overwhelmed with having to do everything. At times when we approached her she was a little snappy however this was to be expected due to her being alone, but our requests didn’t actually get sorted (requested for dairy free milk and ketchup) so did impact the breakfast a little.

I love Toby Carvery and today was no different. The roast potatoes were amazing. We were looked after by Michelle and her kindness went way above and beyond. She even gave me a ten pound off voucher which reduced our bill. I would never have expected that and for her to do that for us was so lovely. The restaurant was busy too but her service never faltered.

Visited the carvery last night and couldn't fault it, The best I have had in a while, the meat was nice and tasty, the roast potatoes were lovely and crispy, parsnips are now on the menu which I love and gravy was to my liking ( bright consistency, thick) Great all round, see you Christmas eve. 😊

Friendly staff. Nice, clean dining area. Generous portion and selection of meat. Plenty of choice/ fresh vegetables. Refillable soft drinks a bonus. Too full for pudding. Katie the manager was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

Michelle and Kevina Terrie-ann are kind, understanding, helpful above and beyond. An absolute pleasure to be around while I enjoy my breakfast. They completely put me at ease. Thanks ladies 😄

Absolutely amazing meal this evening, service was amazing and went the extra mile even though having to contend with a minority of moronic customers complaining just for the sake of it ! Felt sorry for the manager she couldn’t have done enough to tend to the needs of certain individuals (morons) to not get no appreciation at all for it! Well done tonight team we throughly enjoyed our experience tonight well deserved 5 *

Well after posting a lovely review a few months ago, I'm sad to say it's all gone down hill after today's visit. We arrived all ready for our carvery, like we have nearly ever week for the last 12 months. We was greeted by the front of house staff, after arriving to our table we was told the latte machine wasn't working. There was coffee available via a over large kettle, we was sarcastically told that we could go over and make our own !! If we wanted one. My friend asked if she could have a fresh orange juice, she was told this also wasn't available. She sarcasticlly was offered orange cordial instead, this was from the front of house staff. Now we decided to move on from this and Que Up for our carvery, what a mistake. The beef & gammon was raw the roast potatoes were hard, the gravy was very watery. We ended up leaving our meals giving up, paying for our meals and just leaving. It was my Birthday yesterday & my Wedding Anniversary today, what a disaster this turned out to be. We have been coming to this carvery most weeks for over 12 months, BUT we're now sadly thinking this maybe our last time. It's my first time I've left a restaurant still feeling hungry, it's just a complete shambles really. I'd like to Michelle and her colleague in the black shirt ( I didn't catch her name ) as usually they were both lovely and a credit to the company. I'd like to say with this review I'm not looking for a free meal or money off vouchers as I won't be returning. I'm not looking for the usual bog standard message from the owner, but I'm guessing that's what I'll get. I just wanted a lovely Birthday and wedding anniversary meal.

First visit here Staff very friendly and helpful. Will not be returning as it was more of a bun fight (eat as much and as quick as possible and out). Not a nice relaxing meal. Plates piled high like a ski slope - no thanks.

Michelle and Kevina were both delightful hosts and were very welcoming and chatty. They both guided our party to our seats and explained how the system works. A great first visit and likely to be the first of many. They are a credit to Toby and are an asset to Toby Rotherham. Bravo to them both, it's a rarity for customer facing staff to be so polite and helpful today.

Not a bad place if you’re wanting a carvery out. Prices reasonable. Veggie option was huge, though it was quite a wait for it to be ready. Some of the food is a bit disappointing from being under heat lamps but others such as the dauphinoise potatoes and mac and cheese (not one I’ve seen before on a carvery!) were actually really nice. When we returned to the table someone had cleared it including our drinks, but they replaced these quickly. Would say best chain I’ve been to for a carvery.

A regular breakfast spot I like to visit. The food is incredibly good value, and a large seating area means I've never struggled to be seated. The layout however is well planned, and prevents you feeling over crowded. Also a big fan of the unlimited soft drink machine!

Family carvery for three. Arrived early so sat down and had some drinks and a chat. At the booked time we went over and were taken to our table and advised how to access the carvery service. The meat was cooked to perfection, was plentiful and the vegetables were self service. The food was tasty and we all enjoyed. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Well done to everyone involved as it was a truly enjoyable experience from beginning to end.

Where do I start.... It was awful. The handles for the food were damaged so the metal was showing and extremely hot my 10 year old son burnt his hand and so did I. The food was a massive disappointment 😞. The mash was dry. The carrots they where so hard I didn't eat them. The sweetcorn was horrible. The macaroni cheese was dry as hell I had to ask for fresh. . I am massively disappointed with our visit especially when it was my girlfriends birthday meal!! The fact that the staff said that she should have a £10 voucher for her birthday and it wasn't in her emails. Just made everything a massive load worse! We will definitely not be back in any hurry. What a let down it was. Oh and not to mention that someone was stood at a fire door with it wide open smoking out the door the smell was just coming into the restaurant putting us of our food even more 🙄

It was a very nice experience. Food was delicious. I had the carvery , my daughter had the vegan melt in the roast and my son had a kids meal. It all was nice and my son couldn’t resist the Chocolate heaven sundae. Michelle and Josh were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Will def be coming back.

Food was absolutely disgusting no spices and no salt whatsoever. Cooks were changing apparently when we just came but dont know if it would make it any better. Service was really good though apologised few times for the quality of food and overall experience and charged us less.

Beautiful food for the carvery, plenty of options and the meat was gorgeous! The lamb practically melted in your mouth. Laura was great the whole way through our meal, she was a delight to talk to! Lovely atmosphere all around. Would definitely recommend.

This used to be my favourite Toby in South Yorkshire. Not been a while, and I can't believe how down hill it's got, the food was bland and tastless, tats was burnt, mash was brown and burnt. The carver looked depressed and didn't want to be here. Another chef didn't have a beard hair net. But the waiters was cheerful and helpful, we was offered to have a fresh plate, but by that time, we was already put off. Yorkshire puds was still up to standards and the gravy was excellent, very thick. See you again some time, hopefully by then you will have improved.

Jen our server was lovely, really warm and friendly but not pushy. The food was good and the choice of Lamb was a nice surprise. I also liked the way Jen looked after an older gentlemen seated near to us. He was eating alone and and she kept checking in as she passed. Great service and good value.

Our overall experience was excellent, nothing too much trouble for the staff. As my friend and I are on diets we asked if we could have our vegetables cooked without any added fats which they obliged us with. Our server Abi was very pleasant and efficient

Went for breakfast and had unlimited hot drinks. Well planned restaurant didn’t feel cramped or crowded. Fresh coffee available in pot and it’s good coffee. Pg tip tea bags for the tea drinkers. Toaster for toast that didn’t go super slow like most seem too. Jam and marmalade in large pots - honey in sealed mini pots and butter in single pots. Hot plates as you would expect for a breakfast buffet style. Super friendly staff Food was replenished as it should be. Yorkshire puddings with breakfast love these Very good quality sausage Bacon was cooked perfectly for me and had a variety from cooked to crispy Scramble eggs needs to ordered Beans and tomatoes Potatoes and bacon mixture hash browns Plenty of parking mid week and a large car park Very clean toilets

Recently visited with an old school friend, my elderly mum & her friend. The staff were super helpful, polite & friendly, even engaging in our cheeky banter when we tried to present a voucher which we made out of a napkin. 😂 Our server, Michelle, was an absolute diamond! The food was delicious & plentiful. Highly recommended.

Great place for a tasty carvery. Great selection of meat and Veg all done very well. Gravy was delicious. Staff were brilliant, especially Michelle who was attentive and chatty without being over bearing. Do not think I saw her not smiling.

We've been visiting Toby Carvery regularly for about 8/9 years, but recently the quality of our 2 nearest one's have declined. So a couple of weeks ago we decided to try this one. Omg the food is out of this world and all the staff are relaxed polite and friendly. We came back last week for dinner and once again I cannot praise this place enough. Then this morning we though we would try the breakfast. Absolutely well done you guys. The food was perfect and the staff were lovely. We have to travel an extra 5 miles to come to this restaurant but it worth it and is now gonna be our regular eating out place. Thank you!

Plenty of choice to choose from. Eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast were great. Bacon, sausage, potato, hash and black pudding were overcooked and hard so you couldn't eat it.

Went in for a carvery last night and everything was as you'd expect. Good choice of items on the carvery, really nice and tasty. The staff were very polite and friendly, couldn't do enough for you. The male manager on the front desk was really friendly and polite and really went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Overall excellent service and food, would definitely recommend.

The waitress that served me was absolutely brilliant, I can't remember her name but she was a bit older, shortish and had a nose ring. She was sound as a pound and helped me do something on my phone, her Dad called her booboo so we shared a little laughter because my nickname is Yogie. We'd just finished work and she got us seated very quickly and right in the middle of the restaurant which was a bonus. Anyway she was sound and made my day.
