Booked in for one night only as the B&B price was very reasonable. Lovely pub with great beer and food. Super helpful staff and great service. Here on business but would return for pleasure.

We stayed here at the weekend for the racing at Market Rasen. There were three couples and we were all pleased with our rooms, which were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our evening meal and breakfast the next morning were very good and we thoroughly enjoyed them. I'd highly recommend The George for a meal or a stay. Many thanks.

Food was absolutely delicious. Between 4 of us we had a selection of different starters, mains and desserts and everything was delicious. Priced very reasonably as well.

This was a last minute booking as our first reservation in Gainsborough did not suit us. There was a double room available. We were told as it was a small room we could have a reduced rate. It was small but clean. Tea and coffee, hot chocolate, 2 packets of biscuits and two bottles of water. There was an en suite which was small too but we managed OK. Do wish en suites had extra shelving for toiletries. Lots of handy sockets for use with chargers. 1 full length mirror in the bedroom and a large mirror in the bathroom I mention these because I'm small in stature so it was helpful I could actually see myself! The breakfast was help yourself to juice and cereal. I'm not a lover of orange juice, but nothing else was available. Full English breakfast of egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, tomato, beans, mushrooms and toast. Very tasty and a good plateful. All in all as a last minute booking it served us well. Would stay here again, but perhaps opt for a larger room.

The food was very, very good, very plentiful and served in a timely manner considering the place was full. Would definitely recommend this pub restaurant , especially for a special occasion. The only problem is the parking outside; it is very limited.

Went here tonight for a birthday meal, you get a free meal the day before or the day off and day after your birthday. The staff were friendly and polite, there is a main bar area and a restaurant area, the restaurant area is nice but it's quite dark in here dark walls all around even the ceiling. The toilets need a little attention to be honest not the best smelling. Couldn't fault the food.

Great meals and generous portions. Nice clean atmosphere. Reasonably priced and even cheaper if you can make it for an early dinner. Highly recommended. Will visit again when we are in the area.

Great staff, lovely owners, nice room I stayed in, breakfast was brilliant. Not much in the area but the best place to stay and have a meal and drink. Several small shops, morrisons, spar, coop etc. Great value for money and will revisit if in the area again

My husband and I went to the George on Saturday evening for our anniversary dinner. Initially we were impressed, we were seated quickly and the staff were attentive but once we had finished our main meal they completely forgot about us. We eventually went and ordered coffee and desert from the bar. After half an hour my husband checked on our order and was told they would check. After about another 10 to 15 mins (we were the only table left in the restaurant and the bar wasn’t busy) we decided to go to the bar and pay and leave. We were then told our deserts were on their way and their had been a ‘mix up with the ticket’. We had had enough of being ignored at that point and were ready to go so paid for our meal and left. We had been sat there being ignored which was a theme as I noticed the other 3 tables in the restaurant all had to go to the bar after their main meal and eventually had to get up to go and pay at the bar as the staff ignored them after the main. It’s really sad because the food was fantastic but we wouldn’t go back purely for the bad service.

We came for the comedy night and also booked ourselves in for a meal. Didn't know what to expect, but the venue didn't let us down. From arriving early we were greeted by staff who were friendly. The service was great and the food was amazing. The waitresses never stopped and a credit to the hotel. Complements to the Chefs on all the food . Finished the night off with watching 3 comedians who were great which finished off a great night with a great compere. Thank you to all and we will be back.

Me and my partner spent a long weekend at The George and we had the most wonderful time. The room was beautiful, clean and tea/coffee was topped up for us each day. We had breakfast in the restaurant downstairs each morning and they went above and beyond for us. We also had one evening meal, the food all round was amazing! Pretty location, would highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Go for the specials at the restaurant, I had a chicken with gnocchi and mushrooms and it was probably the best meal I've had in a pub since I arrived to the UK seven years ago. The soup was fantastic as well, and the dessert. Everything was so nice and tasty. I will come back for sure.

Very large portions, too much for me. The staff were a delight and made us very welcome. Nice pub restaurant, would go again but would be more careful in my choice.

I phoned up an hour before arriving and despite being a super busy Saturday they kindly found us a table. This place does super food and the team are all polite and friendly. Highly recommended by us

Had a lovely stay at the George, great room, great service and the food was a good sized portion and reasonably priced. Parking was tricky, but once you're in it's fine. Breakfast didn't disappoint either. Would happily stay again. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.

Really pleased to return to the George after a year or so and see how incredible the pub and the food is! A big party of 10 all loved the food and the atmosphere. A credit to the chef and management.

Visited with friends for dinner. Parking is a bit of a nightmare. The main bar is bright but where we ate in the front restaurant was quite dark and felt detached from the rest of the pub. The food was excellent. Huge portions none of us could finish. The prices were very reasonable. Would definitely visit again just prefer to sit in the main area.

10 of us popped in for my partners birthday whilst at the in laws over Christmas. The service was fantastic, food superb and loved the revamp. Attention to detail on each dish was on point. Felt ot was great value for money. The same meal in my area (Devon) would of been 20-25% more. Most importantly the beer was kept well and delicious! Will always pop in for a meal when back visiting family

I spent about a month in all at the George and had a very pleasant time their, all of the staff were amazing 👏 and exceptionally accommodating. The grounds are immaculately clean, I stayed in 3 different rooms over the month and all were spotlessly clean and had amazing showers with constantly hot water. The beds were comfortable and every night we had a great night sleep. The food wasn't to my liking apart from the steak and the breakfasts. Both myself and my little boy thoroughly enjoyed our stay and for the price it really is top class. I would highly recommend 👌

Wonderful food and fantastic service, Our Pork Wellington was superb but we felt, that anything on the menu would have been as good. Lovely friendly staff. An absolute joy.

Booked as a party of six, lovely venue, staff very pleasent, bit slow to start with but they were busy, we waited a while to order drinks. Food was delicious and plentiful, had a fab time and would definately go again

Very pleasant and friendly staff, who let you know they had seen you as the place was very busy. I choose the Beetroot and Quinoa burger, it was delicious. Will definitely eat there again.

Lovely pub, nice and quiet and the food makes it a hidden gem. Only disappointment is they removed the chicken katsu curry from the menu which was absolutely excellent, though they have a pretty solid menu aside from this so we enjoyed other things this time.

Thankyou for a great stay. We stayed for a wedding. Owners were lovely letting us in the room a little earlier as we travelled up 3.5 hours. Spacious family room, clean everywhere, coffee tea facilities. Great price too with breakfast that was continental or cooked which was fab! We will be back thankyou!
