    Disgusting and painstakingly slow and disorganised, itโ€™s like your treated as a different class of citizen when you are a council tenant. Left a whole weekend without heating when temperatures reached -1c, tripped down the stairs because they didnโ€™t maintain the communal area properly and realise lights werenโ€™t working, even after I reported the lights to the council repairs team and filed a civil lawsuit they are trying to denie accountability and say the repair wasnโ€™t reported before the accident. Reported the communal door 12 times since living here as it is not secure the wood frame is damaged and as a result have been burgled multiple times. Corrupt and insensitive, these council needs a major shake up and some light shinning on their dodgy dealings, failing their tenants on a regular basis. If I could give a 0 or minus star rating I would, definitely do not recommened getting a council property of you can avoid it.

    They are a bunch of thieves! All this stupidity over a โ€˜clean air zone!โ€™ What utter rubbish, my satnav took me through this dump today and it cost me ยฃ14 for the privilege.

    Disgraceful labour ran council exploiting the working people of the city as usual, they will not answer the phone (tried several times including once for over 2 hours on hold) and even after submitting a council tax exemption following the sale of our house they are still taking council tax payments from my account even though I no longer live in Sheffield, get the useless Labour lot out so it can be ran by competent people!

    Nearly impossible to get through to. A robot will give you useless advice then end the call on you. Everything is urgent if they want money from you but try to call them about it and you just can't get through. Their website is down currently so I can't even go online like the robot told me to before ditching the call. They don't seem to be able to get simple chronological facts right either. Sending multiple requests via post for differing amounts for the same account then fabricating a balance for last year which is then instantly overdue because they made it up this year. It's ridiculous.

    several calls made, on hold for 40 minutes plus. overcharged council tax and told complete lies by an advisor. Moved house to save money but am still paying the council tax for my old house as they have not amended my account after 2 months. Not happy.

    They are money making leeches! Not only do they charge a fortune for parking in the city centre, but there is no parking near western park museum! So me and my friend have had no other choice but to park on a road that says permit holders only, it's in a student area, but students are only there a few times of the year, the rest of the time the street is completely empty. So with no where else for me to park, I had to park on this street with no other cars on it, I still get a fine from some jobs worth of a traffic warden. They need to sort the parking out around that area or I'll happily park in the permit holders only street again. I've got no other choice. They do owt for money, it's a complete joke!!!

    This city council doesn't work. Even if we have any query or complaints, they don't treat well. The report on line also doesn't work because of their web security problem. There is no way! Sheffield totally lose the function of the council.

    The phone system is clearly not set up for customer service. Long waits. Unhelpful staff. Onus always on the customer to deal with the delays or system issues. "You can call back later when the system might be up". "I can't messages, you need to call back and see if the system is back up". etc etc

    On hold for over 2 hours and then said our lines are now closed and cut me off, rang the day after at 8:55am and still took over an hour to get through. Thought id resolved my issue but then received a letter saying I owe alot more than I do! Because dates wasn't entered as I told them! So I now have to ring back wait another few hours to resolve their mistakes!! Sick of it. Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with!

    Called the 734567 number twice on consecutive days. I waited 45 minutes the first time and over an hour on the second to be answered. I followed the advice I was eventually given, but two weeks later my emails haven't even been acknowledged. If they were a business they'd be closed in a.month when customers found alternative services who showed them some respect. Worst customer service I've ever experienced.

    begrudging the necessary one star. moved into the area, tried to set up council tax. the online system is a rabbit hole and when you try to do it by phone the staff haven't a clue. one daren't go in in person, their incompetence is shocking.

    If I could score 0 I would. Absolutely incompetent, every single staff member Iโ€™ve had the โ€˜honourโ€™ of dealing with. I think thereโ€™s a cap that no phone call should be answered before the customer has been on hold for 20 mins. Iโ€™ve had issues that have been ongoing for months now and Iโ€™m being passed pillar to post and the current staff member that Iโ€™m speaking to doesnโ€™t know what the last member of staff have said and vice versa. Absolutely awful. Sack them all and disband the flipping council. Have no use anyway.

    awful service in every department. doesnโ€™t reply to emails, having to wait hours on the phone just to be hung up on, doesnโ€™t reply on their social media account yet evidently find it SO easy to contact me with letters. not sure what these people are paid to do.

    Absolutely disgusting by Veolia ! After paying ยฃ67.00 for 12 items to be removed the drivers came and looked and refused to remove the items because there was one empty box on top of a freezer! Now the customer services advisors are saying they will not come back and are refusing to refund my money . When the council are trying be more environmentally friendly why ask people to double bag items (which I did ) !!! Tie up pieces of wood (which I did ) remove tv from stand (which I did ) . So itโ€™s unbelievable to me that they think I purposefully โ€œstackedโ€ items !! When people try and do the right thing we are penalised . The council need to retrain the people who answer the phone and teach them how to have a bit of empathy towards the public .

    Charged me over 4 times the amount they should have. To make matters worse, the call centre is totally shambolic. This "operation" (which I use in the loosest sense of the word possible) is rife with inexplicable line disconnections, characters who don't want to man the phones and literally horrendous wait times - 35 minutes at the time of writing. It's that bad it makes you want to leave Sheffield.

    Absolutely shocking customer service. The customer service dep needs more funding or someone else needs to take over. Clearly they have 1 person waiting on the phone or something mad. I have tried countless days to get through now I am in a que for 50 minutes counting. No one has picked up yet and I'll be recording the whole thing. I suggest you do the same this is a shambles of a service.

    less than one star , had an emergency situation , the guy on the switchboard said he didn't know which department I would need so put me through to adult services who had me waiting for 20 mins before they said too busy to take call and ended it ---- really not impressed at all

    Parking, Sheffield Centre on Love Street. Despite signage that parking meter is across the road, in reality it is about 1/4 mile away on adjacent street. Rang parking services and abruptly told that if I left the vehicle with no ticket I would receive a penalty. What a helpful service. Advised that a written complaint would follow the same day, with photographs. I will update as and when I receive redress.

    Impossible to get hold of, you will be on hold for over 2 hours. The location is wrong and opening times are wrong, they close at 3pm!! If you want to speak to anyone in the council good luck, Iโ€™ve spent so many hours just trying to speak to a human and feel extremely frustrated. Most useful council, absolutely shocking and I would give 0 stars if possible

    I worked for SCC for 23yrs..so I've seen a lot of changes .. nobody listens.. the repairs and maintenance department is garbage,housing,Yr just a number.ive been waiting 4yrs sinced I downsized for work to be done...this property was inspected by Mr Darren Oldfield..rude lied over and over again..

    I wish I could but lower. The council is a joke. You have run the city centre into the ground. You don't support small businesses that are in and around the centre and don't even get me started on this new clean air zone stuff. But you will still threaten people for payment when you don't get your council tax. Absolutely disgraceful

    The city of Sheffield = amazing. Sheffield sh###y council = not so amazing. Absolutely no common sense and pretty much all they do is "tick boxing excercises". I could list all that is wrong but you don't have the time to read it all. If you have a genuine concern you always seem to get the same generic reply back. You know what, I'm going to try get on the council and I'll make a difference.

    I have tried repeatedly to contact my neighbourhood housing officer Sabrina for the last 5 or 6 weeks. I have left messages on every scc telephone answering service available in order for her to contact me. She has received 2 e mails stating that she needs to contact me urgently. I have contacted the general enquiries 3 times this week and on each occasion the waiting time for the call to be answered has been at least 1 hour 45 mins. This is absoluely appalling service by scc. Perhaps i should stop my DD for my rent and council tax, maybe that would grab their attention. I am absolutely fuming.

    Been promised two letters regarding council tax have been sent out to me first class two weeks ago, both still havent arrived, called to question this, waited on hold for 47 minutes, only to when someone answer the line be completely dead, did not hang up as I was waiting so long to speak to someone, then heard someone hang up the phone minutes later?! Called back up got through to a switch board and all I was told was sorry can only put you back in the queue again. Appalling service from sheffield city council yet again

    council commited fraud, by falsely representing me. they claimed to be me and claimed i want to take part in their religion. and regestered me to vote. with that false misrepresentation came a data breach. as anyone can, now, have acces to my personal data. next year i will be informing the council, that the use of my data will carry a fee, of ยฃ100 per day. when you register something, you pass ownership to the registry (the regency). when you register your car, you then become the 'the keeper'. so what happens to your child, home, land & vote.

    They lied to us about our council tax bill, saying we have a discount applied. We are now receiving letters saying we owe ยฃ400 and we have to pay within 2 weeks. The staff have no remorse whatsoever. Horrible people, you can only get through when you owe them money. Get out of this city whilst you can. Frauds

    Just a useless organisation, incapable of updating their council tax records despite doing it numerous times online. Tried to ring to rectify the error but stuck in a queue for hours. Canโ€™t even spell our names correctly on the council tax bills even though we have provide it in writing. I completely a written complaint online and no one even bothered to respond. Try and avoid at all costs for the sake of your sanity.

    Try to register to pay council tax. Called countless times last week but canโ€™t get through. Emailed them a week ago, NO response. Tried their website to register, itโ€™s broken and doesnโ€™t allow me to complete the registration. No doubt I get a reminder through the post soon demanding I pay council tax! I am not sure why I am leaving a google review as they wonโ€™t care one bit.

    Good luck trying to speak to anyone on the phone. I've been hung up on 3 times so far after being on hold for over 10 minutes. This happens every time. And if you're lucky enough to get through to someone, then chances are their 'systems are down' and so they can't help. Totally shambolic and highly infuriating.

    Sheffields failure to help homeless British people who are on there own is disgusting. If you arent in a relationship and without children you are put into a bracket of (none priority) and therefore will be spoken to like you are nothing. Best thing to do is cut up your passport and pretend to be a refugee

    Would have given no stars if possible . As a labour supporter all my life I have to say this council must be amongst the worst in the country . Parking charges in town are extortionate yet all the city toilets have now been closed down so precious time is wasted looking for a store with one in ! How are shops in the centre to compete with meadowhall ? They don't care as long as they keep paying rates they can get away with their abysmal mismanagement of this city it's disgraceful

    Entered a bus gate for a moment, it was not obvious and was not sign posted clearly. I soon corrected this mistake and left the road on a side street. They still decided to enforce a ยฃ30.00 fine for this. They put up the monthly rates on tax also and you see nothing from it. Awful!

    Impossible to contact them on the phone at times, and they don't respond to some emails at all by choice. Plus their computer system often seems to have errors, and it's difficult to get them to acknowledge you've spoken to them previously about one issue or the other.

    Tried to paid council tax via there portal failed yet again. Nothing about this council works, having grown up in Sheffield, and having gone on to work in other towns and cities after University, it saddens me to see how underdeveloped, and rundown Sheffield has become. Itโ€™s councillors are made up of citizen khan types and citizen smith types. Sheffield council is a inefficient, uninspired over paid organisation, and I have worked for them in the past and I can tell you most of there managers would not last 2 mins in a private business. The organisation needs a complete overhaul, from top to bottom.

    Me and my wife are both disabled and stuck in house. Had a problem with heating came out to repair. Went again two weeks later. Said it will be sorted. Went to front door to find a note posted through saying no one in so cancelled job. Fraser never knocked at my door. Probably decided to have an early lunch. Now we are left without heating.

    Private Housing Standards ignored mould in my Guinness Partnership property which turned out to be 3 leaks which had to cause harm to me and flood a year later before the landlord repairs team would look for them. PHS ignored evidence of rats. Allun Whittaker told me that he is omnipotent-no one will see the few photos he took of my flat. I pointed to my dyeing budgerigar- dyeing of aspergilosis. Allun Whitaker HISSED. They accuse me of not living in my flat - absolute rubbish. I have pursued the communal repairs and support for neighbours that give the impression Guinness are attentive when the opposite is true. I don't have much hope for the Housing Ombudsman Service (who will never attend the property) after the input of Sheffield Council Housing Standards. The Council, Capita (and Guinness) gave the wrong address to the police to break my front door down looking for a drug dealer. Who are these people that work for the council?!

    Despite me applying for council tax on line applying for a discount and setting up a direct debit the bill came with nothing of the sort. Obviously can't call them or email and complain in anyway. Abysmal.

    When Sheffield Council ask you to send your ID to them, Don't they lost all my families ID 2 driving licences, 6 birth certificates and utility bills and after them claiming they hadn't received them the recorded delivery said differently, which they still tried to deny they recieved. After months they took responsibility and accepted they had signed for our ID and they took receipt of it. What's gotta be 12-18 months later their last response to us was if you need to change your details which we do, you'll need to restart the claim and of course send them our ID which we don't have because they either lost it or someone stole it because how do they misplace 6 birth certificates 2 driving licences and utility bills. Well get more then was their response. Its your responsibility you asked for our ID and then lose it and its our responsibility. I thought that was the point in having recorded delivery, you took delivery of our ID and you lost it. How is it on us to sort, we were trying to sort things which you asked for ID and you lot lost all the ID we have but it's on us.. keep digging your hole, I'm sure if we start getting bills that we don't recognise you'll have something to say about that then because rather than incompetent people working for you, you'll also have a thief too. You caused this now you sort it. SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL HEALTH AND HOUSING DEPT not fit for purpose. Disgraceful.

    I do not live in Sheffield nor ever have I but I used to just do day trip visit s to an inherited friend and colleague of my late husband's there and as the very formal acquaintance that we had went on for fifteen years.he being twenty years my senior we just obviously got older I was very concerned about the friend as the family objected most ..well it's best to say violently to our association and they set out to destroy me personally even though I used to make DAY TRIPS there to see this man I enquired as to did they know if he as a person was still living there as a solicitor agreed ..even after lots of extreme untrue allegations that these the man's adult children had made against me even to all of the neighbours in his road my road some over two hundred miles away and even lies told about me to his GP and the police and organisations who they thought could damage and did damage my life.I asked the Sheffield Council after the family had prevented me from visiting or even speaking to him by setting up CCTV camera all around his house inside and out and not even registered mail git to him if he was still living there asi was merely trying to o check the electoral role registration and was as a trained psychologist and counsellor genuinely concerned about him as I used to take him shopping and had delivered all at my own expense and gifts as he as a former architect .. alongside my husband also a chartered architect knew the Yorkshire area where half of my family had hailed from and he had thought it would be good for me to move there as I was to move after my husband died. This friend encouraged even ordered me to visit.If you get the drift you readeers may be amazed that the Sheffield City Council put me through to their social services who I a very able bodied qualified still practicing counselling for charity was reported to my area social services because of as well as to the police.They say fools rush is but I have been described and I only quote this as an angel in my work for churches tip London organisation s where I used to work...fear to tread here as I my life in ruins by this now being prosecuted should have definitely Solicitor aware.

    The Photo says it all ๐Ÿ˜จ number 25th in queue 2hours ago. 2HOURS PLUS ON HOLD!!!!! Now 3rd person in the queue for the last half hour. Threatening letters by the gas service team for their own fault changing dates AND want to service appliances the day it expires?! Some people have to work or have appointments and cant be in but they cant take this into account. Causing inconvenience. Shocking. Will be complaining and taking this further.

    Sheffield City Council are fining road users to drive on the road in the city. Iโ€™ve been fined twice now (in the space of 7 days) on the Arundel Gate (Northeast Bound) Near St Paulโ€™s Place Service Road. The Red warning sign is NOT lit and not visible at night. The whole purpose of reducing emissions is pointless as the traffic gets โ€˜zig zaggedโ€™ through built up areas and filtered into the road past the train station. By following this route it increases the amount of traffic travelling on that road. Accompanied with pedestrian crossings, traffic lights and addition vehicles getting filtered, it will increases the emissions in that area. In addition to this, if you follow the other routes available they all take you through the city to get to your destination, which again increases the emissions produced in Sheffield. Which renders the closing of the Arundel Gate utterly useless and just shows itโ€™s a money grabbing exercise for the council. For people thatโ€™s not from that area or familiar with the cityโ€™s traffic rules itโ€™s easy for them to be caught out.

    Have had the displeasure of being on hold for over an hour on the Council Tax line before being able to speak to a representative. Sheffield City Council need to make their phone lines much much more efficient. VERY frustrating for someone who is moving into the city after a gap year to start work.
