I always love dining here. The French toast was amazing. Service staff always great. I am still giving them a five star even though their meatloaf was absolutely awful. I have never had such awful meatloaf and that is one of my go to dishes. Huge meatloaf lover. There was more wine in the meat then meat. I took most of it home. My husband ate the leftover meatloaf and he hated it too and he never complains about food. Won't deter me from going again but won't have the meatloaf. Such a charming restaurant.

My wife and I had brunch with my brother and his wife. The service was fantastic and so was the food. We will for sure be back. The chicken was excellent and those biscuits, out of this world!

Review is 2.5 ⭐️ We visited here for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Our reservation was made in advance via telephone. When we arrived, our was taken and we had to wait for ~30 minutes to be seated. The host seemed to be frazzled when we showed up and was quite short with us. They kept us updated as we waiting, which was thoughtful. Once seated, we had 3 employees rotating to take care of us plus a different person to manage our payment. The restaurant was very crowded. I was sitting very close to the person behind me - the backs of our chairs touching. The air conditioning was simply either non existent or not powerful enough to keep the restaurant comfortable. One vegetarian option was available on the main menu, which was lovely. No items were listed for people who have dietary limitations. Our food was all wonderful and we enjoyed it very much. Perhaps our experience was a one time event. The menu is quite expensive and the reviews are too good for this to be a regular occurrence with service. The restaurant is located at the end of a dirt road and there is very limited parking. The parking lot and building are not accessible.

An amazing meal with wonderful service in a cozy setting. It's a little pricey but everything was really delicious. I would love to be back to sit on the beautiful patio in warmer weather.

Located in a house with an outdoor patio to the side. The aesthetics and ambience are fantastic, gives off a nice rustic feel which leads to the overall experience. The service was friendly and servers were quite attentive. Food was great and cooked well. Drinks were done well and the bread was baked wonderfully. Ordered the Rueben sandwich and was not disappointed at the size of it. Would definitely recommend this restaurant especially for a nice meal outside of the city.

If you're planning to dine at Mrs Mitchell's restaurant for brunch on a Sunday, it's highly recommended to make reservations beforehand, as the seating is limited and tends to get pretty full. The service is quick and courteous, ensuring that you have an enjoyable dining experience. As soon as we were seated, we were pleasantly surprised when the waiter served us with some delectable scones and mini muffins, even before we had ordered any food. To complement our meal, we decided to try their famous mimosas. My wife had the orange classic mimosa, which was freshly squeezed and absolutely delicious, while I opted for the mango mimosa, which was equally impressive. Moving on to the mains, my wife ordered the Filet of Sole, which was cooked to perfection and had a generous serving size. I opted for the highly recommended Reuben sandwich, which turned out to be a delight for my taste buds. The meat was of exceptional quality, and the sandwich was both tasty and filling. The restaurant itself has a very quaint and cozy ambiance, making it an excellent fine dining option. It's located about an hour's drive north of Brampton, but there's ample parking space available near the restaurant. Overall, Mrs Mitchell's restaurant is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys quality food, great service, and a lovely dining experience.

This place makes AMAZING FOOD!! I was at a nearby Airbnb for a couple days and the hosts recommended this place AND BOY DO THE FLAVORS GO OFF LIKE FIREWORKS IN MY MOUTH!! The steak. The veggies. The mashed potatoes. The mushroom soup!!! I left full and literally had an experience with this meal, not to mention they gave us a chocolate slice of cake to celebrate our anniversary. I would definitely roll through whenever I'm in the area again. Keep in mind this place can be pricey if you go for apps to dessert. For 2 people we paid $100 total.

They helped our special event go off without a hitch. The food and atmosphere are amazing!! We always love when we go there and are now lifelong customers. Whenever I am nearby, I try to enjoy a meal at Mrs Mitchell's. It's a wonderful gourmet culinary experience with a beautiful setting. The restaurant used to be a school house, and the decor is fantastic. They recommend reservations because this is THE place for any celebration or significant gathering in the region. I don't remember having been to their patio, but it's also lovely. I tried the supreme. No appetizer because I was alone, but got a dessert to go, which I look forward to try later.

It's been three years since we dined here, and yesterday's lunch was even better than we remembered it being back then. Outstanding dining experience for anyone who values authenticity in both meals and staff. Highly recommended.

Heidi and her team provide repeatable excellent and friendly service that’s always perfectly timed. The food is excellent with generous portions and at a reasonable price considering the entire experience. Side note to the one person that provided a negative review 5 months ago: I am not a staff or family member nor a friend, just a paying customer! I’m someone who typically doesn’t provide a review if my experience meets my expectations but will do so if it doesn’t or exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend Mrs Mitchell’s!

Heard so many amazing things about this spot and was so excited to give it a try! Did not disappoint :) the food was delicious and the service was on point. Really liked the attention to detail in everything, especially the decor. Such a beautiful space with a warm and welcoming feeling. There’s also a cute decor / furniture / gifts store right next to it that is definitely worth a visit! Can’t wait to be back.

If a nice quaint place to relax and enjoy great food this is your place.... An old schoolhouse made into a restaurant, fireplaces decorated for Christmas and great ambient lighting its like heaven when the food touches your tongue. Will be back.

This is by far my favorite go to Dinner spot. Whether it be for a date night with my husband, dinner with friends or even to celebrate an anniversary or birthday. The food is magnificent! The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is so beautiful and relaxing. This is a restaurant you need to try. You will not be disappointed.

With everything so strange these days it was so nice to go and enjoy brunch on my mother’s birthday. Our server seemed a bit stressed and forgot my mom’s birthday but it’s was totally forgivable considering they are struggling to adjust to the new norm. They did an excellent job! The food was great, we felt safe, lots of space between tables. Service was great and they had plenty of lovely spots throughout their gardens outside. Well done and thank you for the lovely afternoon.

After reading the positive reviews here we were excited to try this place for lunch but our experience today was poor. The tiny table we got was in between two other bigger tables and we felt crowded. Especially after three different servers tried to squeeze in between us and the plexi glass, to take our order or to bring out food. The servers were stressed out and rushed us; I think I got asked three times what drink I wanted, while I haven’t even had the chance to look at the menu! The atmosphere was tense and nervous. The server took for ever to clear out items form our tiny table, which is ironic given how she rushed us to order them. The food wasn’t even that good, just full of garlic. Insane amounts of garlic in the clam chowder and the Caesar salad. The sad thing is, we had hoped to maybe have a wedding reception at this place since we have read so much about it and we also have the same last name as the restaurant. Cute, right? But after today’s lunch I don’t think we will come back.

The French Onion Soup and Mushroom Soups were super flavorful and hearty. Garden salad was much more than an afterthought, well balanced fresh and tasty. Burger was really good too.

Unfortunately we were seated on the "patio". Inside this schoolhouse turned fine dining is an amazing atmosphere. The garden patio (necessary because of Corona virus)is a garden heaven and social distancing correct. Wonderful, pretty servers, in spite of masks bringing the most delicious well prepared meals. All of which are a gourmands delight. Prepare to return another time for more food perfection.👍

I’ve dined in and ordered take out from Mrs. Mitchell’s - SO GOOD! The service is impeccable. Dining in is a real treat, the interior of the restaurant is chic and cosy, it reminds me of Europe in some secret countryside getaway. The garden is the summer is stunning and a gorgeous experience for dining. The take out service is heavenly - The quality, care, and even the presentation of take out meals are 5 star. Mrs. Mitchell’s is all about attention to detail to ensure the guests have a fabulous experience, it’s really wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed both experiences, highly recommend!

One of my favorite restaurants for special occasions. Love the casual abundant decor which is cozy and warm. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The owner herself comes around to each table to introduce the specials. I've only ever been in the winter and drive from Durham Region to share in a special day every year! Well worth it!!

I recently MC-ed a wedding there and the staff was great! Heidi was great to talk to, she knew how it organize an event not only to flow with the food but also safely within the Covid restrictions. The partitions are up between tables, only 1 person in the washroom at a time, and masks on when getting out of your seat. The decor right now is winter wonderland. The window sills are decked out and it's absolutely gorgeous!! The food was amazing: Mushroom soup and stuffed chicken. I will definitely try to head out that way again!

Its a great place to try, it's a small place with a nice history. Despite being an old building it's not cold at all with a large wood burining fireplace in the middle of the room. The serivce was great with no problems at all, but if you saw the review only has four out of five stars so there obviously a problem. The problem is that the food doesn't change enough, even though i've only been there twice in a 2 years they've only changed the menu with a couple of different meals. Therefore Mrs. Mitchell's Restaurant is an amazing resurant to celebrate special occasions with friends and family (maybe not children, not child friendly when it comes to the menu).

Wonderful lunch celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary

I was here for lunch. Table was booked 4 days ago and I got an outdoor table... Service was very good, staffs are friendly. Plastic chair not too comfortable and table is very shaky... Signature mushroom soup is good but not much surprise. Risotto and Filet sole both are too salty, a bit disappointed. All in all it’s a nice restaurant, but I would have higher expectation according to their reviews.

If you’re looking to celebrate, Mrs Mitchell’s is the restaurant to go to in Dufferin. What’s sets it apart is the commitment Heidi and her team has to customer service - it’s all about your experience. Dinner is pricier but when you take into account the full experience, it’s not. Brunch/lunch is my favourite as the French toast is unbelievable and those sweet potato rolls to start are heavenly.

A special place...great food, selection & generous portions. A lovely staff.& ambience. Choice of indoor or garden dining (if dressed accordingly) .

Very nice inside, staff is great, food well prepared. My reason for only 4 stars is Delancey's is advertised as a seafood restaurant, however it is not for lunch. Had to settle for Tilapia sandwich or wait till dinner to eat the seafood meal I was looking for. Perhaps a note in description indicating limited lunch menu items would have been very useful for planning.

Excellent food and atmosphere... Food is fresh, drinks were on point, hostesses friendly and attentative...party of 10 and table was ready within half an hour and prepared waiting...would visit again...

I wouldn't say this was the best lunch we've ever had. My aunt's boneless buffalo wings were way too breaded, she ended up peeling some off to get to the chicken! My dad said that his roast beef dip tasted freezer burned. My mom's pasta dish was okay but my turkey burger was very dry. I don't feel that three out of four meals that are imperfect deserve more than a 3-star rating. Also, in the dining room, although the seats are very very comfortable they are also very very low compared to the table heights and we felt that this was a poor design choice as it made it difficult for shorter people to enjoy their meal.

Food great. Service was average. Great ambiance and atmosphere. So noisy at 6:45 on a Friday evening in the dining area that we could barely carry a conversation at our table. Sounded like we were eating in a cafeteria. Would improve the acoustics.

Small wedding - last minute decision to have a small wedding at Delancey's. We had a private room which was nicely set up, excellent food and atmosphere. Friendly staff, our waiter (Manny) was excellent. We will visit again for sure. Wings are the best!!!!

We had our rehearsal dinner here in the banquet room and everything about it was excellent. Oscar was a pleasure to work with and he was very responsive to any and all questions we asked. The entire staff was great and they did a tremendous job making our experience wonderful and COVID-19 friendly. The food was delicious too.

I ordered MILD wings not dry wings!!! They should make it clear that when you order boneless mild wings you’re getting chicken nuggets.

We had a party of 7, everyone wanted wings..Delanceys wings are delicious! Crispy and flavorful! We had a variety of food in addition to the wings, and everything was delicious. Food and service were great! Only negative was the 45 minute wait to be seated in the bar, but this is to be expected during covid, and at a place where the bar food is this good.

Great Foood

Food was excellent. Sat in the bar, little noisy but not a problem. Our waitress was terrific, really friendly and was always there when we needed something.

Food here is good but don't bother placing an order online because they don't start making your order until you show up to pick up. I placed an order online at 3pm for a 6:15pm pickup, I got there at 6:10 and didn't get my food until 6:40. The whole time I'm waiting they're getting phone in orders and telling people their orders will be ready in 25min. Hostess told me to just call in an order instead and not bother with the online ordering because they don't look at those.

My boyfriend and I had a spectacular Valentine’s dinner. The staff were professional and friendly. The food was amazing. The ambiance was romantic especially with the wood burning fire place. It was an amazing evening that we will cherish. We look forward to many more amazing dinner experiences. Thank you!

Wonderful service from beginning to end. We dined for lunch spontaneously on the outdoor garden patio. Ambience was wonderful. Delicious baked muffins and delectable entrees. Serving sizes were generous. As I was wearing a black skirt and black tank top with my hair pulled nearly back I was mistaken for one of the employees on several occasions - it was the same sentiment from each guest, "thank you, it was delicious!" So you can take the recommendation from me or the several other patrons who also expressed deep satisfaction with their meal and dining experience! Haha

Nice spot, nothing really stuck out good or bad. We ate out in the garden which was quite nice but for a $100 per plate I would expect a level turf/flagstaff or interlock! Such a minor detail... I wonder, anything else?. That aside, the menu was very good. You have to go find the cashier inside to pay. I didn't notice were the restrooms were...guess it's mostly locals here? All in all it's worth stopping in once at least :) .

It is always a fine-dining experience at Mrs. Mitchell’s and their outdoor patio is right in the middle of a beautiful garden. Must make reservations. We had the Mango Mojito and the Filet of Soul. Get this - the filet was stuffed with lobster and cream cheese and it was covered in the most delicious sauce. It also came with a beautiful garden salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and alfalfa sprouts. When you are seated at the table they also bring you warm, fresh out of the oven sweet potatoe muffins and a tea biscuit.

Not been here since before the pandemic, not disappointed! Tried a few times the last few times we were either to late for lunch or to early for supper, this time we were there in time for mother's Day brunch. It opens at eleven, we got there at 11:06 and almost had to wait for a table. Cheryl had the chicken Caesar, I had the special which was pork schnitzel, both didn't disappoint! As busy as it was staff were unshaken, and calm. On the high end as to cost but worth every penny!!!

Fabulous farm to table food, orders come out piping hot. Service is superb. Quaint, family atmosphere with antique furniture and a large stone fireplace, even has squeaky wood floor boards! Perfect place for a special dinner or a delicious lunch. All food is freshly prepared with gourmet selections. It’s a busy place and quite popular, reservations are recommended.

We had friends tell us this was their favourite restaurant and now I know why. We originally booked because they were going to have live music, and though the artist had to back out, we still went. And boy are we glad we did. My wife and I are celebrating our 19th anniversary and Heidi, Mattie(?) and the other server (I don't recall her name) were all attentive and made the evening spectacular. Each course was delectable and when dessert came out, they had put candles on them for that extra special touch. I have to make a special mention of the butter tart cheesecake. It was... beyond words. All in all, this was worth every dollar spent and we'll definitely be back sooner than later. Thank you to the whole Mrs. Mitchell's team, including the kitchen staff. You made a wonderful evening something truly remarkable and my wife said it was magical.

I can not say enough good things about Mrs. Mitchell’s. The atmosphere, service and food are all such top notch! My husband and I just got married here over the weekend and everything was so perfect and it’s all thanks to Heidi and her staff! Getting married in that beautiful garden is one of my favourite memories. Come dinner time, the staff is so quick and efficient with taking everyone’s orders and delivering it to the guests in a timely manner. When you are cooking and serving a big group, this is not always an easy job to do but they did it so flawlessly with every meal being nice and hot! Our guests can’t stop talking about how great the food was! I could go on and on about how amazing this restaurant is, but it wouldn’t even do it justice. Not only would I recommend getting married here, but I would recommend eating here as well for any meal. Thank you so much Heidi, the servers and the chefs for an awesome afternoon/evening ❤️ our day wouldn’t have been the same without all your hard work!

Three of us left severely disappointed but kept up appearances that we enjoyed it. In the car it finally came out that each of our dishes was nearly inedible because it was so salty. Each of us would have liked to send the dish back but we didn’t want to cause a fuss as the others seemed to enjoy it. Now we know that everything for the whole table should have been returned. Goes to show that trying to be nice doesn’t always pay off. Nice-enough settings, though quite dark and crowded, but forget about the food. I can only hope that the chef had a bad day.

Excellent meal, service & atmosphere! If I could find fault it would be that it is not handicapped friendly, stairs to enter the building & stairs inside the building if you are seated in the lower level. Food was perfectly cooked & presented - our table had lobster & crab stuffed soul, trout & 1 special - prime rib beef dip - every one was delicious. Really should make reservations - seats 75 & was almost full for Sunday lunch. Keep up the great work was a pleasure, can't wait to go back!
