I heard so many good things about this place. I was surprised to find dated decor and mediocre food. We arrived upon opening time at 5pm. My wife's steak was medium well when we ordered medium rare. The food was good, but for $200+ price point, it should be stellar

This place is a real sleeper and we never would have tried it were it not for neighbors and friends that spoke so highly of it. We were not disappointed. As instructed by friends, I ordered the pork chop the first time we went. Oh my goodness! It was enormous! And cooked to perfection. Everything about our meal was pleasant. Service was conscientious but not overbearing, wait times were reasonable, our meals came out timely and hot. It is a funny place in a converted home but they have done a nice job with it and it felt comfortable. If you have not yet eaten here, it is worth a visit.

Tyler invited us to try his family restaurant and might I say The entire experience was amazing every bite of food melts in your mouth, the steaks are to die for. the service was amazing and Tyler and his brother made sure my boyfriend had the most special birthday when he needed it most. Most memorable dinning experience I’ve ever had. Owned and ran by the most genuine caring family. Spend all your money here you will never regret it.

It’s been a few years since I last ate here. We sat upstairs in the main dining room. I ordered the soup of the day which was a bean less chili. If you don’t like pepper then don’t order this. It reminded me more of a vegetable soup. I ordered the fillet cooked medium with the vegetable of the day which was steamed broccoli with a dusting of parmesean cheese. The steak was cooked nicely but it was lacking flavor. The broccoli was cooked perfectly for me which was just enough so it was not crunchy. The choices for dessert were different flavors of cheesecake, carrot cake, chocolate cake and a kahlua and coffee flan. I tried the flan. The kahlua and coffee flavors were overpowering I couldn’t enjoy the flan. They have parking behind their building and across the street. For the prices they are charging I expect to sit in a comfortable chair. The seat cushion was worn out and the steel back was contributing to my TB (tired butt). I like the vibe of the converted house. It has a lot of character. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive and delivered great service.

What a great place, with a great meatball sub! You can tell these are quality ingredients, with the perfect amount of everything. (The sandwich pictured is only half of what you get because I'm dumb and split it with someone). The staff is super nice and even though it's small (only two tables for dine-in) it's a really neat atmosphere. I definitely recommend it!! ...and it's not expensive!

We met a friend here and had a party of 5 altogether. We started at the bar with a couple of drinks that were top notch! Hubby had a rum and coke and I had a white russian. From there we were seated upstairs in table by the window. The seating was spacious and pleasant. As a group we ordered 2 appetizers for 2 and split them. Everyone raved about the mushrooms being to die for (I don't care for mushrooms and didn't try them). I enjoyed the toasted ravioli and the onion ring. I ordered the ribeye with a baked potato and salad with mayfair dressing. I liked that the salad had cucumbers and black olives - yum! Then the steak came out. This is a big steak - 18oz. The sear was perfect, there were lil crispy edges and perfect marbling. Now I'm an A1 sauce girl, yes even at an upscale restaurant. But I tore into that steak and the next thing I knew it was almost gone! It was AMAZING! One of the best steaks I've ever eaten! The baked potato is nothing to rave about. It's cooked very plainly, no salt or anything on the outside... it's cut and all the toppings are on the side. Which meant they didn't melt into it very easily. I won't order that set up again... I'd really prefer a sweet potato but that is not an option here. Hubby got the pork chop which is massive! He said it was cooked perfect. I tasted it and it was very tender. However neither of us loved the sauce that came with it... My MIL ordered the salmon and I tried it and it was delicious. The sauce was the perfect compliment to the salmon. We ended the night with a chocolate chip cheesecake to share and I added a chocolate martini. The cheesecake was creamy and delicious and something different than you normally see. The martini was perfection as a dessert! Service was top notch all night long. 2 people at our table shared a steak and they cut it and plated it separately which is a nice touch. Drinks stayed filled, leftovers were boxed and we felt spoiled all around.

I write reviews because they are helpful to me when looking for new restaurants. This restaurant came highly rated. The server was very nice and the food was good. For the price and the atmosphere it was not worth the experience. Again, food was good but not “fine dining” we were over dressed. Expected more from the experience for a $200 dinner based on what we’d heard.

Wonderful place for dinner. Suggest reservations. Four in our party all food was cooked to perfection. Quaint and homy place would definitely recommend

The ribeye is coupled with their baked potato (or their green beans and almonds) is amazing for. The filet mignon is to die for. The wine list is decent… one really can’t go wrong with a cab from Caymus.

We think T-bone is tender and more flavorful than the New York strip. Pork chop tastes quite dry. I am not a fan of the dim lighting and the decoration in the restaurant. The outside is cool tonight and their A/C is blazing hard inside. I was feeling cold the whole time during our meal. I did suggest they adjust the indoor temperature but nothing changed. It is just not a cozy restaurant to dine.

Amazing food and service! My ribeye was fantastic, so flavorful and prepared perfectly. My husband really enjoyed his NY strip as well. Salad dressings were wonderful. Only thing was the lighting was too dim that was our only complaint. Wine selection was great too!!

Unique atmosphere, fantastic service, and good but not great food. My wife really enjoyed her steak (filet mignon). My chicken Xanadu didn’t have much flavor. The side of garlic mashed potatoes was delicious, though. My wife enjoyed her salad but I didn’t like the soup (beer cheese soup).

We hadn't visited since before the pandemic started, so glad to be back. The steaks were even better than we remembered. The ribeye here is the best steak anywhere. A nice selection of wines by the glass that complimented both appetizers and entrees, and my wife loved the cocktail list. Hope to return soon!

Amazing food and service!! A great place to go for a date night or celebration dinner. The steaks are so tender and delicious. We absolutely love the BBQ shrimp appetizer in a butter sauce. The staff does a fantastic job of making sure you are taken care of.

If you go to Citizen Kane, order steak. The steaks are great. Shrimp scampi not so much. I would give the steak 5 stars and the scampi 3 stars at best. It is also very noisy.

Great steaks. I had a ribeye and the wife pork. The picture with sauce on the plate is the huge pork loin. The ribeye was great.

Fabulous Ribeye, extremely flavourful and very well prepared. The Cajun shrimp that is off the menu is definitely a must as well. Highly recommend this place based on the food quality and great customer service.

Amazing everything. This was the BEST salmon I've ever had in my life. It was almost like a candied salmon, but fresh. We started with toasted ravioli for an appetizer and the sauce it comes with is the chefs kiss. It's a sweet, savory tomatoe based sauce that is something I would consider bottling up and using forever. My side with salmon was creamed spinach, it was made perfectly. Not too thick and not overdone. Meal accompanied with a glass of cab! This is definitely in my top 5 restaurants for St.Louis!
