Fernando’s is my favorite of all the Mexican food trucks in Champaign. Through talking to the owner and tasting the food, you can tell there was intention in the way it was prepared. I really like their Torta Al Pastor, but the Tacos are good too! The ingredients taste like they are good quality and they all complement one another. Even the salsas are great, I highly recommend trying both of them. I wish they had more selection of the different Mexican styles of meat - because I know they would do them justice. Overall I’d give it a 4.8/5 - super delicious. The only thing holding it back from perfection is: I’d like it if the meat was slightly more tender. (Granted, what I’m looking for is probably hard to do for a food truck… so not that big of a deal)

I ordered the Nachos and 3 steak tacos. I had it delivered via Uber Eats. And everything was really delicious. The only thing is I requested sauces. And they didn't put them in the bag. But..everything was really good.

Fernandos is the best of the Burrito Trucks the way Real Mexico Burritos in Chicago are made, some add Beans in the Burrito that's just a cheap filler for the bad Meat some places use, FERNANDOS IS FANTASTIC AND ALWAYS FRESH INGREDIENTS, 🤠👍🏽🤟🏽

Craveable. These are the best tacos I’ve ever had. I do think they are a bit pricey, but they are so yummy.

As someone who grew up in Mexico, I have to say these are the best tacos in Champaign. They taste as good as any street taco you can get in Mexico. Also, the owner always greets you with a smile and makes you feel like a valued customer. Can't recommend this place enough.

I can not say it enough, this food is amazing. I love it every single time, they go above and beyond!! I usually get the nachos, the meat is tender and well seasoned. All the ingredients are fresh and perfect.

One of the best quick Mexican food places in Urbana Champaign. I tried almost all Mexican restaurants in this area, and usually I have tons of nachos remaining when the topping is gone. But here, the topping portion is a lot so I finish topping and nachos at the same time! I recommend avocado topping addition if you like avocado. Their tacos are amazing too. It is worth it.

We stumbled upon fernandos after trying to find another location. So glad we stopped. Delicious food, friendly workers and so quick! Wish we lived closer! This would be a staple for sure. You are missing out if you haven't had it before.

I ordered steak tacos, the tacos were very dry with a weird texture couldn’t even chew it, it wasn’t seasoned at all… very disappointing because I had them before…

Really good! Got a burrito and a quesadilla, split both, loved both. Burrito had some cilantro that I love but not for everyone. Pork on both delicious. Parking was easy and service fast.

I went there last weekend after a night out to go get an elote. It was $3. However, I checked my back account days later and saw that they charged me $6. It wasn’t a big deal, only 3 dollar difference. I left it at that & did not do or say anything at the moment. I went back tonight after a night out to get an elote. I paid the 3 dollars like usual. Since I was there I decided to give the worker a heads up that last time they had charged me more. I did it as a heads up to be more cautious with other clients, I was smiling & relaxed as I said this. The employees demeanor changed & instantly was aggressive, saying in Spanish “honey, your money is leftovers to me. I don’t need your money. Are you sure it was me? It doesn’t matter because I don’t need your money. Here’s your money back. Take your money, I don’t need this money.” While doing this he was aggressively laughing & kept talking over me & getting louder. He kept on trying to shove the money back at me while I repeated “no no no, that isnt what I wanted. I wanted to just give you guys a heads up” He finally gave up trying to shove the money in my hand & opted to put it in the elote bag & shoved it in my hand as he closed the little door in face as I kept saying “I just wanted to give you a heads up.” All the kitchen guys were behind him as he closed the door in my face while I was still speaking.

Excellent every time! The nachos are *phenomenal* with just the right amount of cheese so that the chips aren’t soggy and the chips retain their crunch.

Good service, I got my food fast, but the seasoning and cilantro was overpowering and the only thing I could taste. The street corn was good. If I was hungry I would eat here but if I had another choice down the road I would go there instead.

The food is tasty and really great for the price. They give it almost instantaneously. I really liked the nachos and tacos but I am going to try other options too.

holy moly these are some good tacos. and so reasonably priced!!!! the chorizo especially was unreal, but the pastor was bomb and the asada was solid too! will definitely come back if I'm in Champaign again

No photos because it was soooo freaking good. The elote is just delicious. This reminds me of the street food in Nogales, Sonora. The torta was perfection with a pillowy bread and incredible ingredients. This is a food truck that should never be skipped.

One of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time. Wish I didn’t live 2 hours away

Fernandos filled the void when a downtown diner closed. They were the first food truck that visited downtown after lockdown and provided quick, delicious food. I always get their chicken burritos but if you like steak instead I hear that's pretty good too. They put the salsa in containers so for someone who can't handle spicy foods this is perfect.

Ordered three Mexican tacos with Chorizo. Very tasty. I went on a memory trip of when I visited Cabo San Lucas so many years ago. Perhaps the memory could have jasted longer if I took the time to savor every bite, but they were so good. I was with a friend who I shared this memory with and IMO this is what good food is all about; breaking bread with friends, enjoying each others company and talking about what once was

Everyone everywhere is complaining about inflation, but this magical food truck has LOWERED their already low prices. Honestly deserve an award for proving that most of inflation is just greedy companies. Their tacos and tortas are so good that even as someone who overvalues novelty I haven't gotten anything else on the menu in dozens of visits. Both salsas are delicious. Note that sometimes the truck is at Neil/University (I think lunch?) and otherwise is in the parking lot of Main/Walnut as indicated by Google maps.

I don’t write reviews but baby!! I used to go to Fernando’s often when they had it on campus but they shut it down. I decided to go to their food truck to see if it was as good as I remember it. Let me tell you -- one of the best burritos in town! Everything down to the vegetables tastes fresh and the steak wasn’t dry. I didn’t even add sour cream but it was still really juicy and flavorful, unlike most restaurants. They’re also a few dollars cheaper than most restaurants but obviously better quality. Would definitely recommend!
