One of the most scenic, well maintained trails to take in the Avila/San Luis Obispo area! The trail is a 5.1 mile trail out to the ocean and back to main trail head. Beautiful scenic views including walking past a Buddhist temple, the Sycamore Hot Springs, and a cute watering hole called the Secret Garden! The trail ends just past the golf course and takes you directly to the main cross streets for beach access in Avila. The trail allows bicyclists and dogs on leashes.

Great paved, accessible trail for walking, bikes, etc. My wife has CP and limited leg mobility and had a great time with her electric assist trike, as I walked along. Signs, benches and stopping points along the way. Some moderate incline may be hard with wheelchair. Was a lovely trek. Trail ends at pier near many restaurants and bars.

A local favorite trail. Beautiful scenery, free parking, paved trails and ample shaded parts of the path. I chose to ride my bike and my girlfriend walked with the dog. Good for biking, skating or walking. Bring water as it can be a little warm in the summer months and there are no faucets for drinking water until you get to Avila. Also, try and get there early or be prepared to wait to find a parking spot!

Huge parking area and safe but I wouldn't leave items lose in the back of an open truck. Paved walking path ahhh the way to downtown Avila and back is about 5 miles. Bicycles and golf carts fly through there, mostly respectable but be careful when you have lose dogs or kids cause they could get hurt. Saw a snake too, it is nature so just be alert 😎

Great hiking, jogging, and bike riding trail. Asphalt trail, lined with beautiful Sycamore trees and an adjacent creek. There is plenty of parking even on weekends. Mid-trail is a beautiful garden with refreshments, including beer, wine, and cocktails, and a place to relax. This is provided by Sycamore Springs Resort. It's usually open around 11 am. I'm not sure when it closes. It doesn't have set hours. The Sycamore Springs Trail branches off here and heads up the mountain to a beautiful overlook of the ocean. Sycamore Springs Trail is more of a moderate trail because of the incline. It's less than a mile to the top where there are 2 coastal oak trees, each with a swing!

Wonderful paved path that always feels safe! Good distance great for walking jogging or bike ride. Have done all of them. Winds parallel to the creek that through a beautiful gold course, over the creek and plops you out literally at the beach!

The trail is pretty easy and paved all the way through. I would not really call this a hike. It is a leisurely walk along a trail with some good views of a golf course and some wooded areas. It ends in downtown Avila Beach and is a good couple mile walk and did with ice cream. There's a secret garden along the trail where you can get alcohol or snacks and play games. It's a nice little stop and rest point and just a place to hang out. There's also a little restaurant and store about Midway through the trail, which is good if you're going on a little hacking date. All in all, a nice leisurely walk with decent views.
