    Ben and his crew have raised the standard of what I expect from a training facility. This place is not just a “gym”. They’ve cultivated a fitness community that caters to all. If you are an absolute beginner, an elite athlete or anything in between, you will will receive the highest level of coaching and advice that is simply unmatched anywhere else you’ve been. My personal results after Just 6 weeks with Athlete Theory have shocked me to be honest. If you are serious about making your health a priority, this place is where you need to be. Equipment aside, it’s people that make it great. Congrats Ben and team on producing the best facility on the south coast.

    As a former F45 girl- I never really knew what Crossfit was all about. Covid got me out of my groove with a healthy lifestyle and I decided to join Athlete Theory at the end of 2022, for no other reason that it was close to home, and I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. *It was time*. My expectations were fairly neutral at first. Like any other gym I'd been to before, go in, do a class, say hi to the people next to you (but never really knew their name). But not at Athlete Theory... Athlete Theory is by far, the most supportive, community driven gym I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. I expected to join a gym, get a little fitter and healthier. What I got was SO MUCH MORE. In a short space of time, I'm over 10kg down, stronger, fitter and healthier than I have ever been in my ( almost 40 years) of life. I bounce out of bed each and every morning at 4:30am knowing that I get to start my day with happy and positive, like minded people. People I now call my friends. Friends I actually see socially outside of the gym! I see amazing strength progress each and every week. You work at your own level of strength and fitness- it's almost like each workout is tailored to your needs in an easy to follow, colour coded format. You really don't have to be the fittest of the fit to enjoy a cross fit workout! All the coaches are amazing and very supportive at giving you valuable feedback and adjustments along the way. Being self employed I'm very cautious to train to prevent injury and I feel very supported when I'm on the floor whether that be in a class or a private PT session. I also enjoy that the gym is accessible 24/7 . To have the option of classes as well as the gym in my own time is such a bonus. No matter your fitness level, if you have a determined spirit you'll love it. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. I can't recommend AT highly enough!

    I have been a member here for just over 3 years, and I have never looked back. Athlete Theory has more than any other gym going for it. Group classes are closer to personal training because the coaches give real coaching. From helping with technique to encouragement. The community is beautiful, so friendly and fun. My health and fitness has improved and progressed ten fold and I would recommend Athlete Theory to EVERYONE, of any level of fitness, that wants to achieve their goals!

    Walked into the doors of Athlete Theory just over 3 years ago and it was the best decision i had made. I’m constantly noticing the improvement in my fitness level and strength. Everyone is super friendly and the coaches are absolutely phenomenal and always help to push and motivate you. This has become my second home and I’m so grateful to be part of an awesome community and culture. Definitely highly recommend Athlete Theory Billie

    Best gym I have been a part of. Super friendly atmosphere with coaches and members. Training program is scaled for every workout so no matter what skill level, they will always hurt and help you progress. Again, such a great gym and community.

    I have been at this gym for many years, coaches are very knowledgeable and cater for all fitness levels. We have an amazing supportive community and I couldn’t imagine being any where else. Love my gym ❤️

    This is the perfect gym to come back to training after a long break, take it from a fat man. If you wondering if this is the place to make that comeback or even start from scratch, it is. They have a custom personalised approach to getting that confidence up. The people who work out here are your normal run of the mill people, all just genuinely looking to make themselves better. It's as supportive as you can get without all the cringe.

    Athlete Theory is my favourite place, not only do they have every piece of equipment to better yourself, but they make you feel the most welcome and create an amazing environment. I travel a lot for sport so I’ve been to many gyms and I must say no one comes close to Athlete Theory, Thank you to Ben and Sarah.

    I started at Athlete Theory in September and haven't looked back. when starting a new gym there is always that nervous feeling of if you will fit in. Walking into Athlete Theory instantly felt like a second home there's NO clicky groups everyone is encouraging and supportive and the community created is second to none. The workouts are designed for all levels of fitness from beginner to advanced. The coaches are full of knowledge and experience and are always happy to provide feedback and tips. The thing I love most about Athlete Theory is the culture it's a culture built on working hard but done with a smile and always some friendly banter.

    I have been a member of Athlete Theory for years and couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The workouts are always different and for all fitness levels which keeps me motivated. The coaches are amazing and always so helpful when giving advice. I also LOVE that we have 24hour access to the gym! Best place, best vibe, best people!

    Athlete Theory is the absolute best Crossfit gym you will ever come across. This place has the strongest community and it's the most supportive gym environment. The coaching is exceptional and the programming is designed to suit every skill level. I couldn't imagine going to any other gym and you would be doing yourself a favour if you signed up!!

    When I look for a gym, the most important things for me are VIBE, coaches that know what they are doing and can demonstrate the movements and correct technique, great programming, as well as a non-intimidating friendly atmosphere where you can be you, no matter where you are in your fitness journey. ATHLETE THEORY is all that and then some! Head Coach Ben runs a smooth sailing ship and the coaches are AHMAZING and supportive. The levelled system is great because it means that everyone can be successful and work towards achieving their goals. Awesome community! Highly recommend 👌

    Only recently joined athlete theory and from the beginning the coaches and other members made me feel so welcome! The flexibility for every level of fitness the program provides, has taken the pressure off and let me able to enjoy the workouts to the best of my personal ability. Love the positive vibes, and new little family I’ve made 🫶🏽

    Athlete theory is such a welcoming supportive gym with coaches who are dedicated to help you reach your goal. The programming is scaled to everyone’s fitness levels. I absolutely love the classes i have learnt so many new skills! Everyone is so helpful, motivating and friendly which makes coming to each session so much better 😁

    Ben and bree who have both coached my foundations have immensely exceeded my expectations. I feel so welcomed and supported every time I step foot into the gym. To be able to share my goals and get help to achieve them from these guys makes it a whole lot easier to walk into the gym. I haven’t even meet the other members and I’m already getting talked to and included in conversation! Thank you athlete theory for making me feel welcome so quick!

    Athlete Theory is a VIBE! You can go in throw some weights around, have a laugh and is built with great comradery. You feel so supported going into Athlete Theory, the coaches are amazing and guide you through all workouts more-so, inspiring and encouraging through your personal growth. I feel so comfortable with the AT community, they are welcoming and joining AT has been best decision I’ve made.

Caters to all levels of fitness and abilities and everyone is so Uplifting. Can not recommend Athlete Theory enough! I always leave this place happier then when I arrived

    Joined about 6 weeks ago. I have nothing but great things to say about this Gym so far. Staff and people are amazing, super helpful and welcoming. Plenty of equipment to work out with but for me it's all about the classes. It's hard work but there is a level or scaled work out for everybody. 10/10 Really enjoying everything.

    Athlete Theory is an amazing gym. I came here having never lifted weights before and they made me feel so welcome and more comfortable with the movements thanks to the one on one foundations sessions. The community is incredibly friendly and supportive, the classes are always fun and coaches really attentive, always giving tips and feedback. Wouldn't want to train anywhere else!

    Absolutely love going to classes. As a person who needs my workouts adapted, I've never felt so comfortable to safely push myself. I've achieved things I've never dreamt of!     One of the best experiences of my life. After recovering from Acl and being overweight. The coaches here are awesome and motivates you to achieve your targeted goals and never lets you give up on yourself. The community is awesome as well.

    The culture at Athlete Theory is one hundred percent positive. There is so much encouragement from the coaches and members alike. You always feel part of the team and the coaches go above and beyond to ensure you are training safely and reaching your goals. You train at your own level and build confidence to advance your training and set new challenges. Would not train anywhere else!

    I love dropping into different cultfit boxes on my adventures throughout Australia. (I need to be around my people. I'm committed.) Ben (the guy with the beard... And owner) has managed to cultivate a pretty awesome crew of people who come and enjoy getting sweaty, high fiving each other, chalking up and doing the WODs. The facility is a playground that could be more described as an arsenal fit out with ample rig space, shin busters (wooden boxes), gymnastic rings, bars racked for days and the list goes on. The open gym hours surrounding the class schedule allows for plenty of time to familiarise yourself before and after the WOD to also do your own thing. The crew of fellow followers range from newbies to some pretty impressive competing athletes. All with the same welcoming and get down and grind attitude. I really enjoy coming here. Crossfit Shellharbour is really worth your time if you want a place that will keep you motivated, challenged and continuously progressing to be a better functioning human. Cheers T

    We reached out to CrossFit Shellharbour City to host a retreat for our clients. The owner Ben was very accommodating and welcoming into his gym. The space is excellent for training and very well set up for a place to hang out and chill with your friends before and after the workout. The location was really easy to get to and look forward to visiting again in the near future

    As a long time member, it would be easy to say I’m biased, but as other reviewers have said, this place becomes a second home. Encouraging and knowledgeable coaches, workouts customised to your abilities, more equipment than you could ever want (and some I’d happily live without), child friendly and a community of members who love getting sweaty and pushing each other through their workouts. This past year, being a part of CFSC has gotten me through some tough times, both physically and mentally and that’s more than anyone could ever expect of a gym!

    I am a complete CrossFit convert! Have been training at this gym for over a year now and have lost 27kg and still going.. the support, encouragement and knowledge of the staff is amazing and they have everything you need for your own personal fitness & nutrition goals. Never a dull moment with all the laughter, sweat, challenges, crazy warm-ups and friendships. Plenty of classes (fully coached) and they even have a kids room!     Have been training at CFSC for the last 3 months and have never felt as lean, strong and motivated as I do right now. They have helped me regain my love of strength and provide an atmosphere that is full of motivation and dedication.     Where do I start…….. I should have joined Athlete Theory years ago. As a newbie and someone with knee issues I love the scaled approach to the workouts. The coaches are amazing, always happy to help, so accommodating and knowledgeable. Since joining everyone has made me feel so welcome. The community has such an amazing, warm vibe. I wish I had joined years ago!

    Always been more into sporting endeavours to keep fit (soccer, rock climbing etc) rather than any gym based environment for health and fitness. My mate and I joined for the cheaper monthly deal to trial what Crossfit was about without either of us having any real gym, lifting or barbell experience. 2 years on, and now we both attend 3-4 session a week and find we plan our weeks around workout times and specific workouts look fun for us to have a crack at. We found the Shellharbour community open, friendly and super inviting. The coaches have always been attentive and approach their role professionally with great cueing tips on how to stay safe during (what feels like) confronting and uncomfortable lifts, that soon become second nature. In this gym, regardless of your exercise experience, you will feel comfortable and welcomed. I don't think I could do Crossfit anywhere else.

    Coming from a conventional gym background for 5 plus years, I was in the best condition of my life competing in body building, A major pec rupture made my body go from 95kgs at 7% bf over the last three years to 126kgs 40% bf, with my mental state taking the biggest hit I came into the doors and was immediately greeted by Ben, positive and very welcoming. Going from such a high level of fitness to what I am now I was extremely intimidated as I was starting from the complete bottom in a whole new area of fitness movements / techniques & fitness levels. Moving through the foundations, which run through movements step by step, one on one. All my concerns I was worried about slowly faded away. Now I’m into 2 weeks of classes and absolutely loving the gym environment, the coaches and all the other members. Not a single person has made me feel like I shouldn’t be there. Plus I’ve all ready noticed huge improvements in mobility and overall fitness. It’s clear to say I’ve switched over to CrossFit, cancelled existing memberships and I won’t be looking back.

    As a long time member, I have been with the gym and as amazing as it was 4 years ago when I first joined, it is even more amazing now! It is a second home. The coaches are fantastic, being both knowledgeable and supportive and assisting members improve technique and skills. All work outs are differentiated into levels so it takes the guess work out of completing a workout to your current level. The gym is child friendly and the members are some of the most supportive people who have become family! Thanks Ben and Sarah and the rest of the team at CFSC! Can’t wait to see where my training and progress heads in the coming years!

    I have been a member for over 2 years. I love that my personal best is an achievement and reward every visit that I can see. Also having a level to guide my workout version choice means that I’m pushed but have an achievable program. The coaches are very experienced at modifying the exercise for me if I need it for any reason. I love that everyone genuinely care about each other and you feel apart of a supportive community. ‘Stronger together’ as Ben and Sarah’s CFSC motto goes.

    CrossFit Shellharbour is such a supportive environment with coaches who are dedicated to helping you reach your goals. I started as an absolute beginner, who only ever went for short runs as a form of exercise. Being an absolute beginner can be quite intimidating when you’re training with people who have been training for years, but I felt so comfortable and supported by both the coaches and my peers, which was really important to me. Since then I have learned a ridiculous amount and trained muscles I didn’t even know I had. I’ve seen myself become a lot stronger and have had the wonderful coaches continue to educate and encourage me throughout. I highly recommend that if you’re thinking about joining, give it a go!

    Highly recommend! I have never been a 'gym person' and was an avid couch potato and introvert. The beautiful sense of community and support plus the motivational and professional coaching has kept me coming back for over 2 years (and rocking up almost daily to boot). I now can't imagine my life without CFSC in it. Thank you Ben, Sarah and the team for giving me back my life and vitality 👍
