The staff service will turn to be really bad when it comes to the check out day. I stayed 5 days in this hostel, before I booked the room I’ve let them know I will do remote work in the free space during the stay.(even on the last day) They treated me really warmly on the very first day but the last day experience was AWFUL!! I checked out on time before 10:00am, no one was at the lobby, which was fine. Since I needed to start remote work, I picked up a seat and started my meeting, also waiting for my flight in the evening. There was a cleaning company visiting when no staff was there in the lobby so I helped to answer the door for the hustle, which was still totally fine. Later on (can’t remember what time was it), there came a female staff, telling me I should move my seat to the very corner place, so they can serve “their customers”.(The attitude was like ever since I checked out, I’m not their customer anymore.) I apologized for the inconvenience and moved right away according her instruction. In the evening, the female staff passed a post it to me, right in the middle of my meeting, saying “申し訳ございませんが、もうそろそろ出てもらっていいですか?” Which means “Sorry, would you please get out any minutes now?” Well, the service really frustrated me. I’ve never experienced this at any other hustles(in Japan or other countries). It’s so rude that to be passed a post-it writing that content when I was proceeded a important meeting… The room was good, other staff and the owner did warmly welcome us during the stay. But I think the last day experience ruined everything. Advice for guests who considering to stay in this hustle, maybe it’s better to get out as soon as possible once checked out. Any minutes you stayed in the lobby, even the reason is because you need to wait for the flight, will be regarded as disturbing.

Small and design hostel in Takamatsu (高松) When I know there is a tent on the roof, I though that is really cool and really want to try. This is the most special hostel I have ever stayed in recent 3 years. I stay in the tent for one night. It was my first time to camp in the city. The hostel is located in the small street, but not far from railway,so you can hear the train passing by. Don't worry about the shower or washroom, you can use it downstair. You can reach wifi signal on the roof, and also has a plug outside of the tent. They provide camping pillow, which is not as comfortable as normal pillow. If you want sleep well in the tent , maybe bring one by yourself. The building was warehouse before. It has 4 floor. No elevator, you may ask the owner to help you if your luggage is heavy. The owner is nice and helpful. The price is not include breakfast. But you can pay for it. Take about 8 to 10 Mins walk from JR Takamatsu station or the harbor. And about 5 mins walk to main shopping street, which is very convenient. If you want a different experience of accommodation, you should try to stay here.

I stayed at Sunny Day hostel for 5 nights in April. The weather was great in Takamatsu at the time, warm and sunny, making April an ideal time visit. I had the pleasure of staying on the fourth floor called Mitate. It’s like a loft apartment, modern and Japanese styles combined. Featuring a cozy raised platform living room and futon space, a nice walkout balcony and a cool private, open air, wooden bath and shower. There’s a smaller balcony at the back too. Highly recommended for a couple or up to four people if you are close friends. There are no elevators so be prepared for a good stair climb. Sunny Day is conveniently located near many must-see sites. Walking distance it’s under 20 minutes to Takamatsu Station; Takamatsu Port for ferries to the Setonaikai islands; Takamatsu castle grounds and park; Kagawa Museum featuring designer Noguchi Osamu-sama; the north end of the vast shotengai shopping arcade; and one of my favourite places, the eclectic Kitahama-cho area. Kitahama is home to quite a few young entrepreneurs with art, fashion, cafes and restaurants having a chill bohemian vibe. Check out Kitahama Blue Story for various artist works, 206 Tsumamu Cafe for the most delicious selection of mini quiches, tarts and great coffee, and don’t miss Umie for dinner and a great view of the port. Takamatsu is a great city to rent a bike, most train stations have bike rental for 200 yen a day, super cheap. Takamatsu is also a great base for visiting the Seto Sea islands like Naoshima, Teshima and Shodoshima, home to art museums and installations and of course quiet island communities with beautiful scenery and great food. Every three years the Setouchi Triennale art festival happens throughout the islands. I’d like to thank Go-sama of Sunny Day for his hospitality. He’s kind and helpful and took care of all my needs and concerns. Takamatsu-shi, greater Kagawa and especially Setonaikai are wonderful places to explore. I will be back.

AMAZING HOSTEL! Very clean, comfortable, and well-decorated. There is good attention to detail. The staff are what made my experience awesome - the owner makes amazing meals (cheap breakfast and dinner and yet so delicious!) and is a super friendly guy. You can tell that he loves his job and really cares about his guests. He allowed people to store their luggage when needed. I cannot recommend this hostel enough.

Great friendly and good value hostel. Small but beautifully designed down to the small details. The shared dorm was quiet, comfortable and semi-private with a curtain for each sleeping pod. Highly recommend the Japanese breakfast. Go san had lots of good local eating recommendations such as local udon for lunch around the corner. We were allowed to check in early and check out late, central for ferry, train and shopping street.

Close enough to JR Takamatsu Station, tram line, and the famous "shōtengai"/shopping street. Rooms are well air-conditioned and clean. Beds are comfy. The staff (Go-san) is very friendly and helpful. The hostel has a minibar and a small common seating area on the 1st floor which is pretty decent. Overall a good stay and recommended to stay here when you are visiting Takamatsu!

👍👍 Waited an hour for this.. but it would say it was well worth it. Ordered the wakadori (young choke now) and oyadori (parent/old chicken) since I had to wait so long. Both were seasoned heavily and went really well with the rice balls. Wakadori was very juicy and meaty, with crispy skin. The seasoni...
