This is not a classically touristy sort of place. A visit is primarily to take in the majestic building of the erstwhile "The Woolen Mills, Cawnpore" and photograph it for posterity. The mills were started in 1876 by a group of Englishmen to supply blankets for the Army among other things. Till the early 80s the brands that the factory made, Lal Imli and Dhariwal, were the de-facto standard in quality woolen blankets and other such products.

Lal Imli, The icon of kanpur. The history of this building gives us the glimpse of the glorious past of the city and its present condition reflects the true condition of the city these days. Who is responsible for this? My personal observation is that.... British government made this city(though for its own benefit) And Indian government destroyed it. It is bitter to digest but true.

(Translated by Google) Lalimally Mill was founded in the year 1876 by George Allen, VE Cooper, Gavin S. Jones, Dr. Condon and Bivan Petman etc. Earlier this mill used to make blankets for the soldiers of the British Army. Its name was then Conpore Wullen Mills. Later, because of the red tamarind tree in the mill premises, it was named Lalaimali. It was also characterized by strong quality. The British India Corporation was established in the year 1920 and Lal Tamarind was registered as a limited company by a board of directors. The board of directors was dissolved in 1956 following the currency scandal. In the nationalization done on 11 June 1981, the mill became under the Government of India, from where it began its decline. This sick unit was declared in the year 1992. Once upon a time, Cawnpore was famous for its Factory work. This city was stablished by Britishers who came here for Cotton and wool. As time passed and India became Independent, this was later occupied by Indian government and big factory 'Lal Imli' was closed because of financial problems. Many workers became Job less but still Kanpur maintain its pace and still known as city of Worker.

British India Corporation Limited (BIC) is a central public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The cpsu produces textiles for use by civilians and the Indian armed forces. It manufactures the popular "Lal-imli" and "Dhariwal" brands of woollen products. Lal Imli Mill is located in Kanpur. It was established in 1920. It manufactures popular brands of Woollen products. Earlier it was known as "The Woollen Mills Cawnpore". The textile industry suffered as as a result of declining investments towards modernisation of the mills. As the owners started incurring losses by the end of 1960s, they decided to shut down their units putting the lives of around 1 lakh workers in jeopardy.

One of the many Heritages in Kanpur(known as Cawnpore when British ruled India). One of the finest examples of the industries that flourished back in time. Now it remains as a standing monument depicting the employment and business it gave sitting those times. The cloth made here was exported to Europe and contributed to the export revenue of the country but most of it going in the British pockets.

First woolen mill of┬аIndia,┬аLal Imli┬аby the┬аBritish India Corporation┬аestablished in 1876 by┬аAlexander MacRobert. The eastern and northern┬аfacades┬аof the mill are reminiscent of the┬аPalace of Westminster, due to their architecture, proximity to the┬аGanges┬аriver and with the north-east corner of the mill being topped by a clock tower similar to┬аBig Ben┬аin┬аLondon. The city is also widely regarded as the┬аLeather City of the World and also nicknamed as the┬аManchester of the East, for its textile industries.

(Translated by Google) The creation of the blanket blanket for the British Army 140 years ago was the establishment of the Red Amli Mill On the basis of its quality, the products of the mill were stored in the whole world. Not only in the country, the woolen products of Lalimili Mills, which used to illuminate the name of Kanpur throughout the world, used to be less than no time in the glory. People visiting the city or visiting relatives will be able to purchase the Lily's blanket, loin, blazer and suit length etc. At the height of its quality, Lalimali had kept its stamina all over the world. Founded in 1876 Lalimli Mill was established in 1876 by the Agnarson as a small company. Including George Allen, Wei Cooper, Gavin S. Jones, Dr.Condon and Bivan Petman. Earlier this mill used to make the blankets of British Army soldiers. Its name was Konpore (Kanpur) woolen mills. Renamed with tamarind Later, the name of Mill got lily. There is a story behind it. According to Lalimli Impliage, many trees of tamarind were engaged in the Lalimili Mill Campus. There were red tamarind other than other trees. Even today there are two campuses and a tree outside the campus. Thousands of people used to work in this 24-hour mill. People who liked them well. These products are being supplied in countries not in Russia, America, China etc. among others. This led to the expansion of the Lalimali. Worsted Plant, Hosiery Plant, Power Looms There was a fire in Lalimili in 1910. There was a lot of damage. Lalimili was rebuilt. The new building of the mill was made from red bricks in the Goth style. In the year 1920, British India Corporation was established and Lal Imali was registered as a limited company managed by a board of directors. After the currency scam in 1956, the board of directors was dissolved. Then the president was Haridas Mundra. In the nationalization made on 11th June 1981, this mill became subject to the Government of India. This is how the mill started going from history to history. Power generation also used to get Lalimli is the world's first such mill. Where important machines are on the first floor and electric poles and lines are mounted on the ceiling. Power Generation was also done in addition to Woolen Cloths in Lalimili. Not only did the power demand of mill meet be completed, but the bungalows of the nearby officers were also illuminated. There was a bogey track for carrying coal to the mill. Whose marks are also present. Lal imli mil is a historical cotton mill which was started in the 1800th century by the English government . Its building is a fine example of architecture and design. The view is very nice and attractive. Now it is very old and less popular for its work but famous for its building.
