It was a very long ride. It was good as it takes only up to 6 people in one go. So everyone can comfortably sit and enjoy. They have some nice restaurants and tea garden at the other end of the ropeway and we can come back after spending time at the gardens. The view is very nice and we get time to enjoy the view during the ride.

One of the best tourists attraction in Darjeeling. It’s a 45 minutes and 5km ride but it will take total 3hrs so which includes 2hrs standing in queue. Ticket counter start at 10Am in the morning and close at 5PM Each 🚠 has 6 seat so if you are in a group of 6 then it’s fine else you have to share the ride with other tourist. If you are in a group of 2 /couples then you will get a 1st track line by luck because some time there will be 4 people in the group and the will need another 2 people to accommodate so you will get that chance even if you are at the end of the queue . Adults ticket 🎟 is ₹260

This ride is nice over the tea garden, small villages, open areas etc. Overlooking the nice peaks of Himalaya. The only pain point is the long queue. Try to reach before 11am latest to make it faster. It can take 1-3 hrs depending on the day.

The queue is long..but understandable why!! Trust me it's all worth it.. the ticket is only 250rs but the lovely scenery that you witness after that is unmatchable.. And also once you get out of the cable car on the other side..make sure you have momos on the first shop to your left with an umbrella table.. it's legit the best momos I've had in Darj :)) REALLY RECOMMED IT TO EVERYONE!

No words to describe. Just go and feel it. Was an awesome experience. Nice climate , feel the fresh air. Won't regret, long ride total value for money. Had to wait in a long queue to get tickets, depends on season. Need to climb steep steps to reach this place

The experience is spectacular but it is quite expensive at the same time. Also they make you stop midway during the return journey and stand in queue again without no apparent reason except maybe to trick you into buying stuffs from the nearby stalls.

The Ropeway is a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to Darjeeling. The cable car ride offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and tea gardens. The journey is smooth and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, the waiting time can be long during peak season, so it's best to book tickets in advance. Overall, a highly recommended experience!

This ropeway is one of the most famous tourist spots in Darjeeling. It offered great views of tea gardens, but the waiting time was too, too long. After a test of our patience, we got into the cable car that covers two and half kilometres on each side. It took us to the end point where we had to wait in a queue, again, though shorter, before coming back.

It was a beautiful sunny day. The taxi dropped us off at the marketplace where we had a steep flight of uneven steps to climb. After that there was a line to buy the tickets. Once we got into the gates for the ride the line was even longer. Then after one and a half hour crawl through the line we got into the cable car. The smooth ride and views of the valley below and the mountains around were great. A 16 to 18 minutes ride brought us down about 1500ft. Once down there is nothing to do but turn around and get in line for the ride up.

Great view from the cable cars. The tea gardens and surrounding areas with houses and mountains offer an eye catching view. The ticket counter opens at 10:30. Be sure to be there at 8am to avoid rush. I reached 8:30 and was behind 15 people.

Dunno but each time I take the rope way it’s really foggy so never really got to enjoy the view :p Nevertheless it’s a fun ride over the tea gardens and a smooth one. This time we weren’t allowed to get off at the stop. It takes about 45 mins round trip so it’s a long one. Six people can be accommodated in one cable car. Again one of the must visits at Darjeeling :)

Loved the ropeway experience. If you are traveling solo you only have to be in the long queue for tickets but if you are in a group then you have to wait in a long queue after buying the tickets. Combining both can take up to 3-4 hrs for groups .

The ropeway ride starts at 11am but to avoid the long queue, it's better to reach early. The cost of ticket is 200/- per person and the journey is about 5kms, which takes around 40mins to and fro. The ride is really beautiful as it passes over the tea garden and small villages. The scenic view is awesome. On the other end there's small cafe for snacks and beverages and definitely some good spots for photography.

Nice experience. A long 40-50 minutes ride (to and fro) over the green valley. It's better to reach there during 1st hour which is arround 9 am other wise have wait at least 1.5 to 2 hours due to heavy rush. 6 person for each ride so plan accordingly. This time (may 22) tkt fare was 260 for adults and 130 for 3-7 age group.

Fascinating. Costs 260/- rupees per head round trip. In Tukvar village downhill, you can get refreshments. The journey is simply fabulous with tea gardens below, surrounded by hills. Total journey time is around 20 minutes each side.

I cannot express the experience of doing this awesome ropeway in words. The views are speechless. At first, when we arrived there, we were heartbroken after seeing a very long line. We had to wait for two to three hours for our turn, but when our turn came, it was worth the wait. After seeing those mesmerizing view, we forgot all the difficulties we faced earlier. You may at first think that the price of the ticket is a bit expensive, but believe me, it will seem nothing after you experience the views. And don't forget to buy tea leaves after you reach the other side, they are genuine and tastes very very good. You can miss anything darjeeling, but please don't miss this ropeway, or else you will regret it for the rest of your life.

Must visit place, really fall in love with this city especially ropeway ride. Approx 5Km ropeway journey ( up & down) is lifetime experience for me. Approx 40 minutes to complete this journey. But one drawback is... Cabin is limited that's why waiting time is too much. This is the main reason...for all tourist are unable to cover this ropeway journey.

Must visit place. This roapway takes you downhill for 15/20 minutes and brings you back. Excellent scenary of tea garden and hills can be seen from the roapway. Ticket price is around Rs.250/- and you will have to wait in the queue for around half an hour. Highly recommended.

The real magic lies in reaching the pinnacle, where you'll be treated to what can only be described as the best mountain view with the most awe-inspiring panorama. The cable car ride is not just a mode of transportation but a memorable journey that encapsulates the essence of Darjeeling's natural beauty. So, despite the wait, it's an experience that should not be missed for anyone visiting this enchanting hill station.

Good scenic view... but only catch is that we have to stand in a long queue...by long means apprx 2-3hrs..incase u have other plans then better skip this ride because it will take atleast half of our day..better is to go early for first ride that is around 930am and for that you will have to be there by atlst 830am

It's a wonderful experience. The whole journey takes ~ 40 minutes and you get the panoramic view of the whole Rangeet Valley and its lush tea gardens .Also the distant hills are visible making the whole experience worthwhile.

Never been on a ropeway or cable car system before so didn't know what to expect. There was about a 20 minute wait because it is always busy. I think I counted 7 or 8 cars on the go and each one seats upto 6 people. It was a very smooth ride down then back up. There are a few Cafés at the bottom where you can find refreshments. Definitely worth a visit to guide over the plantations.

After a wait of over 5 hours was able to get into the car. The ticket dispensing was stopped and started without any announcement. The management after taking the tickets and standing in queue was excellent. The car experience during ropeway ride was fantastic and is about 20 minutes one way over a huge tea garden. Things at the other end of the ropeway and ropeway complex should be upgraded to international standards. Further the number of cars are also to be increased by upgrading the system to cater to the huge crowd. The ticket time is from about 10 am. You have to come before 4 pm for the tickets. However considering the popularity it is better to reach by 2:30 pm. Also for tourists it is better to finish other city tour destination and reach here by 2:30pm.

Very crowded place in heart of hills. Very popular among tourist visiting Darjelling. Worth waiting to tak a ride especially when it's gloomy and foggy all around hills. A little costly but deserve beacuse this rope way service might be requiring regular maintenance

Value of money. The experience of ropeway was awesome. The view of tea estate from the top will clouds all over was mesmerizing. Should visit once and feel the natures touch.

The ride was too good, the views were breathtaking , but the negative point is management. The authority sometimes shuts down the ticket counter without any previous notice if there is a huge waiting line of tourists who have already booked their tickets & is already waiting in line. To control the crowd they shut down the counter & stop further issue of tickets..Again they start issuing only after the waiting line is considerably reduced. The official time of opening the ticket counter is from 10 am to 4 pm during pick season & upto 2 pm in off season , but actually they stop issuing ticket on their own wish.. So it's better to go there with adequate time in hand..3 hrs it will take for the whole process including taking the ride, coming back from the other end..But all said & done, the ride is worth it...

    1. Amazing view of tea gardens 2. Nice cafes at the bottoms What to expect 1. The line to the rope way takes almost 1.5 to 2 hrs 2. Ride is shared by 6 ppl. Many people come with children. After waiting in the line for 1.5 hrs the kids can be cranky. The ride may not be as pleasant if you are stuck with a cranky kid.

Overall a serene place with cool weather . The views of the tea estates, waterfalls, small houses, heights of mountains and clouds hanging them give us a very peaceful experience away from our daily routine. You may find it disgusting to wait in a long queue for your chance but assure yourself to experience a wonderful ride which can turn away things . It was a little lengthy ride and quite happy with what we have paid

This is my first time to take this journey. For adults they charge 260 rupees. Worth it, because it's a 40+ minute journey. Now, how you would feel during the whole journey totally depends upon you. You can get a totally clear sky or partially cloudy. I was lucky. While going down, it was a clear sky. So I was able to take some nice pics of Rangeet valley tea garden. While coming back it was cloudy. So I got some nice clicks of clouds too. You can take a break at the below point, if you want to. There is a restaurant where you can eat some local foods.

It's awesome experience.. it's opening 10am and close by 4pm but ticket counter close by 2.39pm or sometime depends on crowd.. but it has awesome experience with Darjeeling city whole view..

Entering this place is bit tedious. If elders want to try this it’s difficult for them to get there. Had to literally wait for about 20 mins to get the tickets Inspite the person being in that spot to issue the ticket. They were chatting. It was built in the year 1998. Experience in the cable car was fantastic with a beautiful view of tea estates, varieties of trees.

Ropeway service is there which takes you through the majestic tea garden of Rangit valley. This ride is of more or less 40 minutes up & down and total of 5km distance.. One adult charges are 260 ₹ (up & down) as of current time.. But there are rush most probably all the time.. So you need 1-2 hrs of time for that place
