In 2014 when we visited the place, the park was still under construction. Had to go through winding and very steep downhill road. From Main Road (Hill cart Road) to the Park the descend is about 720 meters (2100m to 1380m) in 5 Km road. You can imagine how steep it could be. The road is very narrow but was in good condition then (2014). The road will keep you on the edge of your seat. In this place you will find yourself amidst of big hills all around with full of lush green trees. One feels so close to nature here. More concrete structures are coming up now. There is a long waterfall here. It has many stairs to roam around. Elderly people may have problem.

It's right out of some picture book, beautiful place, not much crowded. it's not a part of the seven destinations the taxi people will cover, you need to speak to your cab driver specifically to take you to this place. The roads however leading you to this place is pathetic and in some places all washed away because of land slides and rains (we visited in the rainy season). But the place is unbelievably beautiful and you will take tons of pictures out here. This could have been better maintained, the toilets are not clean and boating was not going on when we visited. There are a few shops to sit and munch and enjoy the place. It is a big park and you should take time, it will be better to come in the first half. This is a little far ahead of the rock garden, so you can visit this first and then while going back see rock garden, however i doubt you are going to like it as much as Gangamaya park. I would highly recommend this place to visit. It was the highlight of my Darjeeling trip.

Tourist attractions is less due to it not maintain properly. Road conditions are pathetic πŸ˜‘. Boating 🚒 started. Although maintenance work have already started . Per person ticket 🎟 is Rs.20 and for parking you have to pay Rs.20 from ticket counter in the entrance gate. There is no extra charges for photography. Natural beauty is the main attraction for tourists. Nature is also beautiful 😍 ❀ here. Fresh water coming from Natural fountain β›². Any one can swim here. Sitting arrangements also very good here. If you go total area in this park you have to burn πŸ”₯ so many calories due its hilly roads. You can easily take so many pictures here. Food stalls are also available πŸ˜‹ here but price is more costly than normal. Momo chowmin cold drinks 🍸 beer 🍺 chips 🍟 also available here but not lunch items. View of darjeeling city is also excellent πŸ‘Œ. Boating 🚒 have started, ticket Rs.50 per person for 30 minutes. This is very attractive here. You can spend more than one hour in this park but not too much. If park maintain properly it looks good πŸ‘but due to bad maintenance tourist attractions faded now. Nothing special is that. We didn't enjoyed πŸ˜•. Upper part is very congested and mainly tourist went down lower part of this park. Overall experience of mine is not good in this park πŸ˜•. Roads conditions should be improved unless otherwise accidents happen in any interference of the way. Thanks.

Best places in Darjeeling though it's losing the beauty due to not taking care of it nowadays. Strongly recommended for those who love to spend time in nature.

Very good place. It is less crowded than the rock garden. But the road is not very good . Good place to spend 2/3 hours . Ample sitting arrangement are there. As it is at least 5 km away from Rock Garden, it remains less crowded most of the time. Boating facility is available.

Being located amidst the Darjeeling Hills, Ganga Maya Park is worldwide famous for its amazing and exhilarating boat-rides. This amusement park is situated only 3 kms away from the Rock Garden and is sited at a height of 7000 feet. This park has a mind-blowing waterfall which allures most of the visitors to sit near the pond. This park is a great source of recreation with lots of amusement to entertain its visitors. Really, doing boat riding on a pedal boat fills the life with full joy and bliss.

Serene and calm place and has boating facility. There is nothing much to do besides boating and walking. There are several eateries beside the path that provide mainly breakfast items.

Ganga Maya Park Tourists enjoying Gorkha folk dances at Ganga Maya Park Ganga Maya Park is further down the road, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from the Rock Garden. Named after an innocent victim of police firing during the GNLF agitation, β€œit meanders down the course of a chortling mountain stream, past gazebos, clumps of flowering shrubs and trees, over humped backed bridges under which koi-carp coruscate, and into a circular lake with paddle boats and a waterfall.” It has a small lake where boating facilities are available. Gorkha folk dances are performed to entertain the tourists.

Gangamayya park which has a pleasant atmosphere and awesome water falls , You must love the nature through the awesome water falls and also you have some enjoyment through the boating. And also the flowing water is also very pure in the river of the parks which is observed as the flow of the water fall. It is a place to visit the good location and water falls with low price of the government initialised charge with the park fee.... You must visit and enjoy

Gangamaya Park is one of the added tourist attractions of Darjeeling city. Gangamaya Park is about 10 km from Darjeeling city. Almost all of which has to come down from Darjeeling. If you want to go to Gangamaya, you have to take a reserve taxi. The number of tourists is negligible due to excess fare and time consuming. We went in August. Water splashes as you enter through the entrance gate. Inside the park, the water of the fountain is going through the middle by leaving a walking arrangement on 2 sides. A wonderful place with thousands of unknown trees, chirping of birds, pleasant environment, sound of water stream and cleanliness. Inside there is a fountain on one side, next to the fountain is an old bungalow. A morning to remember. Everyone is invited to visit!

A good place in nature, it should be well maintained by the authorities. The boating lake is an amazing natural attraction of this place. Decently priced, you can enjoy with your family.

Nice place to hang out with family. This is not as popular as rock garden but it has its own beauty. In Darjeeling wherever you will go you will find scenic beauty.

It is a major tourist attraction and you can visit it with your family and friends. The whole ambience of this park is pleasant and the sound of the flowing water from a mountain makes the atmosphere soothing. Visitors can enjoy a bath from the natural water flowing from the mountain. The park also has a lush garden with beautiful flowers all around. There is a big fish pond in this park.

Nice park. Off beat place but it much better place than Rock garden or Tea garden. Only road is issue. If you manage driver to came here then you will not upset. Govt has decorate this place giving everything need for a traveller. Like restaurant boating place for picnic stage for ceremony ocassion.

Best place for tourists but due to COVID many section of the park was closed.

  • 4/5 Abhishek A. 1 year ago on Google
You can visit the park, walk on trail, go for boating, or just wander around. You only need 30/- entry fee for the park. From there on the left is the source of water that's running through the whole park. On the right you have the Boating area, it'll cost you 50/- for 30 minutes. there are few cafes to have snack or tea. Only problem is that the road is physically non existing. Pick a good guide as there are no public commute for the park. A good guide will cost you 400 per person for the entire day where you can visit almost 6-8 places.

The scenic beauty of the place is awesome. Government had made every thing to make the place more beautiful but as I saw there was no maintenance with the belongings. The chairs were rusted. The bridges made with iron are also rusted. The boats were also not in good condition. Requesting the concerned authorities to take care of this beautiful place so that tourist will regain the interest to visit this awesome place. One more point is the drivers aren't ready to take the tourists there, this is a severe thing. Authorities should also look into this.

Beautiful and peaceful place. It is near the Rock Garden. August - September is the off season so this place will not have much of a crowd. If you are visiting in the rainy season then you have to be extra cautious because the floor gets very slippery and there are no warning signs.
