A beautiful waterfall's from the mountains .The 700 m one way trek to reach to the bottom of the waterfall is tiring as well as exciting and all the joy comes out on experiencing such a nice waterfall. One should be careful while treking as the path is steep and slippery. Although support sticks are provided, one must be careful while going downhill. There are small food and refreshments stalls for providing refreshments to people as one had to cover a very steep path while returning uphill .

Changey is one of the most touristic places in North Bengal .Located just 14 Kilometers away from Lava near Kolakham village. It is one of the gorgeous waterfalls in Kalimpong region and among the best places to visit in Lava.Falling from a height of 400ft it is said that the waterfall goes through two prior stages, locally known as Tiffin Dara and Ghanti Dara.On open days the timings to visit Changey Falls is from 6am to 5pm

This place I tell is one of the best places. We visited kolakham for noise free vibes and this place serves the best. We had to hike downwards for like 500 meters to reach this waterfall. And it was worth it!! Very serene and beautiful. They also provide sticks for rs. 10 so that you can easily hike back. Just a little tip, please wear well gripped shoes because the path is not very suitable for slipper type footwear.

Beautiful place but there is much more leeches. Entry fee is rs 20 and people gives you walking stick also rs20 when you come back give them back your stick. To see the falls you must climb down 900 metres. Road is too tough

The way to the falls is somehow adventurer.. the fall is large & eyesthoothing....as we went during rain...we faced muddy slippery way...& problem of leeches but we enjoyed a lot..precaution- carry water bottle & inhaler in case of asthma & obesity patients.

Majestic Waterfall. The water bounces back into the air and creates a magical environment. Very good. you don't have to buy a stick, it's just a business policy. You have to walk 500m down and then 500m up. Totally worth it. this falls has stairs and trail both. a bit difficult for elderly people. beware of leeches. 100% Recommended.

A Wonderful tourist place near kolakham within Kalimpong district. This is situated within neora Valley forest but it's safe in tourist time. You can go by car till starting point after that you need to work near about 1 km downstair. Rs 20 par head is ticket price. Who have knee problem except those others can go to visit waterfalls. One shop is available there starting of the point you can buy tea, coffee, chips, biscuits, Maggi, Momo etc but all are over price than MRP.

A hidden gem that we found while exploring the wild adventurous roads of Kolakham! The waterfall is located at the base of the mountain, hike down the well-pavemented path to enjoy the beautiful view!

A wonderful but breathtaking journey through the jungle towards the falls, very steep and uneven stony road. Only mentally and physically strong person dare to take the road.. I'm not talking about the age here, because the age is just a number...you should be young at your heart to conquer the challenge.

A very beautiful waterfall inside the deep forest. You need to do a short trek. To go down it will take around 15 minutes and to come up it will take 30mins. But once you visit this place you don't feel like coming back. The water is fresh and cold. And the place is very photogenic. For old people trek will be difficult but still if u have will u can do it. You need to buy tickets Rs10 and stick Rs10.

A wonderful place to visit especially during monsoon as the waterfall is in peak force. Absolutely scenic, beautiful and peaceful! I visited this place several times and recommend this place to every nature lover.

After trekking some distance you can see this very beautiful waterfall. Nice place.. But keep in mind that downward walking is quite easier than the upwards.

A must do if you are visiting kolakham lava or neora valley...the treak to the falls is little bit of a challange, but that is the best part cause it's worth it and after you get to see the falls the treak seems to be way more than a good trade off...

The waterfall was about 4km from our Homestay and we hired a vehicle to visit the waterfall in the afternoon but before sunset. The road is real bad and once you reach the waterfall area, you have to park your vehicle on the main road and walk down the path to the foothill to see the waterfall. The pathway is generally goods and at various places you have steps to climb down. The pathway may be difficult for people of old age and takes normally 15 minutes to reach the bottom of the hill. Midway, there is a viewing place from where you can also watch the waterfall. The place is not generally crowded and you can enjoy the waterfall from a covered area without much risk. Kolakham is a very small village and hence your options of visiting nearby areas is limited. We also visited the nearby jungle hiring the same vehicle and the drive through the forest was good and enjoyable. But you typically do not see any animal or birds in the forest. We rather did not see a single soul during our trip to the jungle which is commonly known as Pipeline. It is called Pipeline because there are many pipes carrying water to the village is coming through this forest. We enjoyed our visit to the waterfall as well as to the jungle.

The falls is about 800 meters down from the main road or car parking. The way to the falls is a very basic muddy road with a lot of steps to cross. The high slope of the road makes it easy to go down but difficult to climb up. You have to trek for about 15 minutes while going down and it will take about 30 minutes to climb up. There are 2-3 sitting arrangements in between but most are in bad condition. One must hire a stick before going down which is available for rent at just Rs 10. This is not recommended for elderly people. Beauty of the falls is not worthy. Very basic but the only option to explore. Beware of leeches. Very moist area.

This waterfall is awesome. It's soothing. After a tiresome journey, it will bliss you. The water is crystal clear here.. and be aware of the leeches. It caught me there. If possible take umbrella.

After the 500 meters treak down to the waterfall, you'll be welcomed with a beauty of nature. The waterfall itself is worth the stress, plus you get to see the beauty of the forest. The upward treak is pretty hard and stressful, keep that in mind.

Situated in Koklaham village of Kalimpong. One need to go down from main road to see this beautiful waterfall. The road is not very good, but walkable with a stick a need to be careful. Got different viewpoints to see it also can sit on rocks at bottom of the waterfall.

A beautiful waterfall. The trek to the falls is awesome but the local authorities need to do some repairing works of the trekking path for ease of trekkers. Some renovation works at the fall site is also required but the experience of nature is at its best here. Overall its a good experience

Awesome place you have to have a time of 2.30 hrs to visit from Lava Monastery. And half kilometre walking down the mountain to see the mesmerizing Water fall

  • 4/5 Arghyadip P. 1 year ago on Google
The waterfall is lovely❤. But it is very exhausting work to climb down more than 2km too see the waterfall and more more exhausting to climb up the same distance 🥲🥲. So it is very hard for old aged person to see this waterfall. And the young aged people who are climbing down to see the waterfall are recommended to carry minimum things which are essential like mobile, cameras and waterbottles. And while returning it is also recommended to check whether u take all the things or not otherwise if u foreget to carry something from the down then it will be so hard for u to again climb down and bring that..

Truly an underrated spot ! For those visiting Lava-Rishap , can visit this beautiful waterfall as a bonus trip . Although the road from Lava to the fall is a bit rough and narrow , it’s totally worth the effort. Plus all those adventure lover-riders will definitely enjoy the journey. The waterfall takes a little ‘trekking’ as the path is pretty stiff, so the elderly people can find it a bit difficult. I went there in monsoon season so the place was all wet and slippery, so winter would be better time to visit.

Change Falls is an amazing place, truly amazing and a mesmerizing place. It cannot be expressed verbally. You need to visit it once. Beautiful waterfall near Kolakham about 15 minutes by car and bike. Then you have to trek through dense forest for another 20-25 minutes. Be careful of slippery paths and leeches found everywhere during monsoons. The waterfall is huge during monsoons and quiet during winters. Trekking roads consist of stairs and dirt with stones. You can get a trekking stick to make this easier. You can spot many species and birds during the road walk and enjoy the sweet chirping of birds throughout the journey. It will be an experience of a lifetime. This rocky and uneven path may be difficult for elderly people and children while walking.

The trek is easy to moderate depending on the fitness. The starting point of the trek needs to be reached by 9:30 am if you want to beat the tourist rush. You need to get down around 900m from there. There are viewing/resting deck available on the way. Getting a stick would help as the steps are loose and slopes are wet near the waterfall. The view is breathtaking and worth the trouble. You would be able to watch different species of birds. There are a couple of huts where tea is available while getting up. Stick would be of help here as well.

Yes i must say that this place is not for people who are not that physically strong. Because at the time of going down , you wouldn't be feeling any problem that much. But at the time of returning or going up , you will start noticing that your body is struggling enough to take you up there. But yes , the falls is something different . The atmosphere truly captured our moments quite strongly. I recommend you to go at the monsoon season because only in that time you can witness the real beauty and power of the falls.

I have given 4 star only for the condition of the road to reach towards the waterfall from upper side hill (Starting point). Road condition is very dangerous and if we go carelessly you may be got hurt even death can be possible. Our Govt. Should look after this road condition of the waterfall. Nature is very nice and beautiful. It is a big waterfall. But visitors have to cover 1 KM by walk downwards to reach at the bottom of the waterfall. Many visitors were not able to reach till the endpoint. We came from Lava by booking car. Don't depend for food on the restaurant at the starting point of the waterfall. Food there is not testy and properly cooked and also over priced according to the quality.

It's a beautiful place to visit. But it's a no for elderly person. You should take a stick which will help you to go up. You should 1.5 hours in your hand to complete the whole journey. It will be better if you can visit this place at first half of the day. There will be an entry fee to enter this place, 20 rs each person.

We stayed in The Himalayan Retreat so it was a walk of 20 min walk to the trekking point. Highly recommend a walking stick which can be renter for a mere ₹5. It will be really useful when some of the stairs & walking strips are in a really bad condition. You will need to get a ₹20 per head ticket for going down too. It took us 20 minutes to reach the Fall & another 30 minutes to go back up. But all the sweat was worth watching the Falls. It was dangerously gorgeous. There are a few stops & shops along the way to get water or snacks & get some rest. Some places were very steep & some not maintained well.

Once you reach the bottom,it's awesome. Always carry a water bottle. The biggest mistake I made is I took my 3yr old daughter with me. Which is not at all recommended. Going down to the spot is not too difficult but coming back up is very tiring and the road is very risky at some points. There was an entry fee of rs 10 per head(adults). Definitely not recommended for elderly people.

Nice place with a splendid view. But people with leg/foot problems, please be careful. It's a long way from the entrance and plenty of steps. It's highly recommended that you take a walking stick on hire(Rupees Ten only) from the ticket counter. The way up can be difficult
