It's a wonderful place to visit. You get to see a lot of flora and fauna. They have elephant safaris and vehicle safaris, for which you need to book in advance. We booked the elephant safari and it was a great experience. They have a lodge there but it is mostly booked so, getting a room there can prove to be difficult.

It's a magnificent place to visit I'd you love wildlife and nature. At jaldapara the best place to stay is hollong by wbtdc. It's a beautiful place to stay and view wildlife. The quality of food is also good but if you are with family or senior citizen or someone sick I will recommend to stay at Jaldapara tourist lodge. Just beside the forest. Lot of facility is available there.

There are six national parks in West Bengal & if I have to take 2 names. Then 1 is Gorumara National Park & another one is Jaldapara National Park. You can see wild rhino, elephant, bison, sambar deer, peacock here. Take the jungle safari (car safari), that's one of the best attraction here. After car safari you can enjoy local tribal dance. Forest is maintained, hats off to those forest officers & staff whe are deployed here.

It is an amazing place to travel. So much greenery and peace. The jungle safari is a lifetime experience, everyone should go for it with friends and family. We could actually see Rhinos, Elephants, Deer, Peacocks, Bison roaming around.

Known for conservation and preservation of the One horned Rihno, Jaldapara is a must visit in Bengal for all the nature lovers . Taking the safari in a foggy dawn was a good decision indeed!

A great national forest it is.It is devided in to two range as Madarihat and chilapata range. It is dense jungle. Safaris like elephant, jeep , watch tower are available here.animal like Bison, rhino, leopard, wild elephants,so many birds, snakes are here. Tickets for booking safari should be booked through forest website. Nearby local station is madarihat station and station for express train is Hasimara. Madarihat more,Just outside jaldapara jungle buses, share cars for Siliguri, coochbehar are available. Hollong bunglow of forest department is there for stay.

Come here to feel the jungle. Do the elephant ride if you can wake up early. Its worth the trouble. Car safari is also there. Rides are tad bit pricey.

My experience was simply awesome! I have to say I was indeed quite lucky to have spotted the rhinoceros, elephants, deer, and tonnes of birds in one go. Witnessing the rhinoceros was quite unexpected. You can choose to have the safari either on a jeep (Cost - Rs.700 per person for a car of 6) or on elephant backs (Rs. 1200/1400 per person for a group of 4-6 people) . Trust me, it's totally worth it.

It's beautiful. Better get place into Hollong or Jaldapara Tourist Lodge to get elephant safari. It's simply amazing and have much better chance of watching animals. We got to see deer, rhino, python in our trip. Jeep safari is also good, but we liked elephant. Even if you don't get to see anything, you are gonna love the experience of elephant ride through the forest.

We had a wonderful experience in the forest safari. We did both the jeep and elephant safari. The elephant safari takes you deep inside the forest. We were able to spot animals. Could see the rhino on both the safaris. Other animals that we saw were bison, sambar deer, lots of peacock. It was kind of a life time experience.. Elephant safari is a bit expensive and there was no provision for online booking.. Hope online booking process for that opens soon..

Very nice place for one day trip from coochbehar or Siliguri. If you want to stay in the forest you have to book the government banglow in very advance. You also can take jungle safari. This national park is famous for one horned rhino . You also can enjoy elephant safari.

One of the best places for jungle safari in West Bengal. Make sure to book your safari a day before and take the first safari in the morning to maximize animal sightings. You should be able to spot various birds, rhinos, elephants, barking deers etc. here.

Beautiful place to visit and spend time with nature. Jungle has lots of wild fauna and it will keep you interested, one has to be lucky to sight leopard although they are quite in numbers. One can sight lots of spotted deers, sambar, rhinos, peacocks, elephant, hornbill etc. But without a rhino sighting it is incomplete. Get your cameras to the safaris. Carry face covering masks, shades, cap or wrap around as red soil will ensure you get a good covering from it. Overall a great outing!!! And please keep your mobile phones silent mode at the time of safari, it will gives you more peaceful safari. Thank you..... ๐Ÿ™

Costs -1200/- (excluding vehicle charge)per head for an elephant ride for 1 hour(actually 35-40mins). 1200 /- includes guide charges i.e. Rs350/- Guides are pathetic. Hardly explains about the flora fauna or ecology of the national park. The ticket counter is 7km from the elephant riding point(from where the ride begins) and for that part only ,the guide is available (not the entire trip). The route from the ticket counter to elephant point of 7km carries an additional charge of Rs800/- if you have brought your own vehicle. If not, they provide a jeep but costs even more. Scenery - The park is famous for One horned rhino. Went there twice.hardly found any. Other fauna like pelicans and deers are also not seen. The elephant ride timings are in 3 shifts (6:30 am,7:30 am and 8:30 am onwards for which you have to arrive 30 mins early respectively). When asked, neither of the 3 shifts found any one horned rhino. They have 5 elephants for each ride carrying 4 people each. Elephant routes are hardly 2-3km long in the jungle. Conclusion -The national park is great if you want an elephant ride in the forest.Cost per head is on a higher side. The guide provided is compulsory and is good for nothing. However Jeep routes are longer (approx 15km) and last upto 1.5hr. You can spot tribal dance after 3:30pm.

In a world where we are destroying our forests, and pushing wild beings towards their extinction, it becomes important to visit and experience the wild. Jaldapara gives us this experience. Though not an animal activist, I don't like the idea of an elephant ride for fun, unless necessary.

The jungle safari is full of thrill as you have to be aware of your surroundings! The safari Jeep runs through the green forest which is a medicine to the eyes! One can easily spot a lot of peacocks, elephants, bisons.. and if you're lucky you may encounter some rhinos and hornbill birds too!

Jaldapara National Park is located in West Bengal, India. Known for its diverse flora and fauna, it's home to the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, and various bird species. The park offers safari experiences, providing a chance to observe wildlife in their natural habitat.

It's a amezing national park of our India or west bengal. Everywhere just green green . Uff love this place . Love the silence of the place. The birds sounds make me free in there. I must recommend that you go there . Or also I request that, if you go there so, plz don't through plastics or packets or others polluted things in there . It's a clean place or a national park so we must obey that . Thank you.

This is another sanctuary where you can expect to see some wild Animals in today's date as at most of the National Parks humans actually get in to see other Humans only as living animals. Quite dense Forest with scenic places to view with Elephants ๐Ÿ˜ on view.

We have opt out for morning safari. It starts from 6 am and ends at 7.30 am. We have sighted Baison, dears, peacocks, rhinos. Our gypsy number was 0070. Both the driver and the guide are very polite and well behaved.

Very nice. Lucky for those who got the chance to see Indian Gaur ( Bison) & Elephant [maintain adequate distance coz they are very ferocious]. You will find Mayur and other birds and the beauty of jungle. Best time to visit Dawn and Dusk.

A beautiful forest with a variety of trees and wild animals. I come here with my family. We have spotted rhino, bison, deer, boar, peafowls and elephants. Car safari is amazing and elephant safari is awesome. Forest guides help us to spot animals.

It's serene and picturesque. Rhinoceros is a rare sight but you can watch boar, elephants and tons of wild bisons. If peacocks are in mood then they can show their beautiful performance too.

The gypsy vehicle are very well maintained and clean, in excellent condition.

Absolutely amazing place for tourists and nature lovers. If you are not so much nostalgic and have interest in photograhy, come here and enjoy the lush green forest, trees, sounds of cricket and different types of birds, animals. You have mainly two options - Elephant safari and Jeep safari. But it is not sure you can find out the animals what you imagine, it depends on your luck. But the scenic beauty of this national forest is awesome.

I have stayed in Hollong Tourist Lodge in Jaldapara for 2 nights 3 days with my family. Me with my family had taken one Jeep Safari for Kodal basti - Chilapata on the 1st day evening. On 2nd day morning we had an elephant ride in Hollong and in the evening we had a Jeep Safari for Jaldapara Watch Tower. All rides were enjoying and fruitful in viewing the nature and wildlife. If you have the interest to see wildlife and if you really enjoy the forest, try to get the accommodation in Hollong Tourist Lodge. It is very costly Rs4000/- per day for two persons. You can keep one extra person by paying Rs1500/- per day. You have to pay Rs900/- per person per day for food. It is very difficult to get the booking for Hollong as they have only 5 rooms for public. You can book the rooms from WBTDCL web sight 30 days before your booking requirements. Rhinos are sure shot to be seen with groups of Indian bison or Gaur different kind of deers, numerous variety of birds, wild boars and if you are lucky a group of elephants. All these viewing by seating in Hollong Tourist Lodge in the adjacent salt pit. Go for Jeep rides and elephant ride to see them in the midst of their habitat. Book all rides from WBSFDA web site. 16th June to 15th Sep all rides are closed. I have attached some pictures for understsnding Jaldapara and Hollong.

Awesome safary. Just loved it. I saw 15 Rhynoes, approx 50 Bisons, some elephants and 2 red deers and some peacocks. Even If you don't see any animals, the journey is awesome. But don't worry you will definitely see some wild animals on the go. Try to do the safary in the evening, then your chances will be higher.

  • 5/5 Sourodip S. 11 months ago on Google
Elephants, Bisons, peacocks and deers are everywhere. But if your luck is favorable, you can experience the sight of the one horned rhino among the bushes. The safari ride and it's guide will ensure that you get the best possible experience of the safari. The tour also includes the folk dance of Boro tribe in the end, which would give a musical ending to the amazing safari.

Amazing safari experience! They offer two types of safari rides - Jeep and Elephant ride. We took the Jeep Tickets can only be booked the evening before. The ticket window opens at 6 pm, but tourists start lining up way before that. We recommend going there before 5 pm to ensure you get the Safari spot of your choice The Safari is for almost 1.5 - 2 hours, entirely through the forest area with a couple of stops on the way. The park is home to Rhinos, Elephants, Deer and a lot of peacocks. We were lucky enough to get to see most of the residents, including a couple of rhinos The guide accompanying us in the Jeep was quite knowledgeable, providing us with interesting tidbits regarding the neighborhood Definitely a must visit for nature lovers

Rhinos are the main attraction of this park, and we were lucky enough to see one. Peacocks are present in plenty, we could see more than 15 peacocks in the entire safari. Elephants are available. Deer, bisons and wild boars are also seen. Leopards are rare, we couldn't see any.
