It's a bliss...endless stretch of greenery and the fresh air. The safari is a must-try here and one of the main attractions. There are 3 timings for safari: 6am,9am and 2pm. The early morning 6am slot timing is the best for safari. Tickets prices are: Rs.450 per head including a guide, plus another Rs.150 per vehicle entry fee. Each vehicle(top open gypsy jeeps) takes 4 passengers + 1 guide + 1 driver. You need to stand in line to get tickets and don't forget to take a xerox of your Aadhar card/other govt. id. There is a huge rush, so reach way before the timing and get a spot in the line(they have about 20 vehicles going per slot). The ticket counter is about 1km from Lake View Resort towards the market. Even if spotting a few animals here depends on luck, missing the wild experience would be a big mistake. There are 25 different kinds of orchids found here apart from many other trees worth watching. Amidst the forests, there are 2 tribal villages here. The roads running through the dense green forest on either side and the never-ending flow of cold breeze is perfect for any nature lover. It purifies your soul. A must-visit place for anyone willing to get a blend of little altitude, forest, small rivers and quiet, peaceful surroundings in the lap of nature.

Nature at its best. Preferably stay st Kalipur Eco Village run by Forest Department. They only have four trees houses in the property amidst tree garden and jungle. Stay itself is thrilling. Food is basic but tasty, special mention Mr Biswanath who always there to take care of you. Don't expect any luxury, everything is basic, just enjoy the nature. Ample car parking space. You can also enjoy tribal dance in the evening.

Service from Gorumara national park is good like pick up from your kpdtc resort and drop. They have a dedicated folk dance show after the safari if it is in the evening. But if you are interested in seeing animals this safari is not for you. Hardly you can spot any animals. We got to see only peacock and bison.

Had a very good experience. However, was unable to spot any animal. But that's okay. Jeep safari in a dense forest like this is itself a memorable experience. The guide and the driver nicely showed and explained everything about the Jungle, the lifestyle of the people around the forest and so on. It's absolutely worth to go for jungle safari in Gorumara.

Safari program not exciting at all. Offline morning booking available morning at before 5AM .ticket processing and ride start from 6AM slot wise. If enjoy safari program then confirm online book at Jaldapara National Park and stay not Lataguri. It is my views and experience based on multiple area local public. However other than jungle safari like peripheral sightseeing is fine.

Gorumara National Park is in Northern West Bengal, India. Located in Dooars region (foothills of Himalaya). It is a small forest preliminary habitat of Indian rhinoceros. Apart from this it has got varieties of elephant, bison, leopards, wild cats and birds. Also so many insects. Lovely place to visit with friends and family during weekends. This park has safari timings at both morning and evening for very less number of tourists. Therefore, getting a chance to have safari inside the jungle is really wonderful experience.

Gorumara National Park is one of the most dense forests of West Bengal. Sometimes I felt it denser than Jaldapara. It’s a big forest with a huge variety of wild animals and a number of plants. The main attraction of Gorumara National Park is the Jeep Safari from NIC Lataguri to Jatraprasad Watch Tower. The best timing for the Jeep Safari is 3:30 PM to 5 PM because this time there is much possibility to find wild animals especially Elephant, Peacocks and Deers. The Rhino is also a main attraction of this place. In the evening time you can feel the silence of deep forest which can’t be felt in the morning or afternoon. Online booking is available at West Bengal Forest Department Website. You can book the Safari online and enjoy the wildlife beauty.

Gorumara is a reserve forest of west Bengal, Jalpaiguri. You can go to the jungle safari here, in the jungle sometimes you can see animals like elephants, bisons, rhinos etc. Various types of birds. After safari in the evening you can see tribals dance. It's a very good place to spend time with yourself, your family members and your friends.

Recently we have visited this National Forest. We booked our safari car from the gate of Murti Banani Resort. There is a hike in the tariff has been observed for the jeep safari. We took the safari in the afternoon at 3:30 PM. We found peacock, elephants, bison & dears during our safari. But, most importantly it was the vibes of the jungle that we enjoyed most. It was really a dense jungle & certainly well maintained by the authority.

It's a big forest. Now, in 2021, it has been changed a lot as I'm seeing now after 8 year. Road has been highly developed, a huge number of settlement increased in the last decade, concrete structures covered the natural beauty a lot. Market facility, homestay facility pushed up the area more friendly like general plain land forests. But, one of the most interesting thing everyone should experience once at least is jungle safari in open-hodded jeep provided by Gorumara forest division. Best time to visit Gorumara is the beginning and end of monsoon. Which will provide a scenic beauty of forest land. Though, the winter visit also a good choice. Peacock is the only watching element and sometimes a bison. If you are very lucky, then, an anonymous elephant.

Must visit for wildlife lovers . Located in the Terai region of the Himalayan foothills, Gorumara National Park offers its tourists exquisite splendor and the scenic beauty of the unperturbed nature in the region. Deemed as a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1949, this medium-sized park, with grasslands and forests, rose to become a national park in the January of 1994. The national park is exactly sited in the Malbazar subdivision of Jalpaiguri district, in the state of West Bengal and is primarily known for its population of Indian Rhinoceros.

Roads are covered with large forest bed, we visited here during month of May, 2023. Couldn't spot any wild life here during day time, early morning around 4-5 am is the good time to see movement of elephants across the roads. Must visit this place from Siliguri, roads are remarkably nice!

Visited Gorumara National park for the first time. Had Jungle Safari by Gypsy, which costs 1935 for six persons including guide. The experience was good but we had bad luck. We couldn't spot any animal except some birds ( Hornbill and peacock). Although my expectations were not satisfied, the overall experience was good.

Gorumara National Park is an incredible destination for nature lovers. The biodiversity is impressive, with a variety of wildlife and endangered species. The park's natural beauty, well-maintained facilities, and responsible tourism practices make it a must-visit location.

It is best to opt for jungle safari here (not watch tower Safari). Best time for jungle safari are morning slots. You have high chances to see Elephant in morning slots.

Lots of peacock are there in the jungle, we are lucky as when we were going into the Gorumara NP two male and two female Sambar deer were just infront of our car, that was breeding time, one elephant was crossing the road in front of our car. Jatraprasad watch tower was the best view point.

Another place for Rhinos This national park is famous for one-horned Rhinos. Situated at foothill of himalaya, this place is also the natural habitation of Elephant & Leopards. Surrounding area is really picturesque. Lush green tea estates discretely spread within the dense woods and intersected by rivers & streams with Himalaya at backdrop provides an experience soothing for eye & soul. While stayed at 'Banani': a WBFDC Tourist Lodge, situated beside Murti River at the fringe area of the National Park, we visited the Park by afternoon Jeep Safari. The safari arranged from the lodge as per government specified rate. Each Jeep accommodates 6 person. The guide do all the formalities at entry point. However, one should keep a Xerox copy of photo identity to avoid any hassle, which requires at the time of tour booking . There are two watch tower, Jatra prasad (named after one famous captive elephant) & Rhino Point covered in the trip of 2.5 hrs approx. Don't trust the Agents and don't do booking through them, they took money extra unnecessarily. The jeep sarafi is for 2.5 hours approx and total 3 time slots are available per day. Cost is 2125/- for one jeep, maximum 6 people can onboard.

Gorumara National park is a wild life sanctuary located in Lataguri forest area, consisting of Rhinos, Bisons, wild elephants and Cheetahs. Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari are allowed here. The jungle is the densest of jungles in India.

Nice place for short trip of safari. You can enjoy the safari of tea garden first then a journey between the jungle and kacchi road, the way is full of tall and aged saal segun and others trees. To watch the wild animals there is Only one watch tower is there where there is a chance to find wild animals when they will come to feed themselves. For sure you will find some peacocks and all on the way. And from watch tower you can find any wild animals depends your luck, bdw it's not a zoo so all depends on LUCK . Thanks.

In my opinion, early monsoon is the best time to visit any forest region. The greenery becomes exceptionally beautiful at that time, the temperature falls.. all over very pleasant weather prevails.

As a forest it is marvelous, but wild animal visit or Jungle Safari fully depends upon your luck factor.

Gorumara National Park is a grassland jungle renowned for one horn rhino. Elephant Safari is one of the main attraction. You can book ticket from online. Approx 1000 per head. Gypsy Safari also very exiting. I would recommend to take Jatraprasad coro safari from Lataguri. Very refreshing trip staying in the lap of nature.

If u r searching for true adventure, do visit. Don't expect wild animals at ur own will, accept that they r free spirited and may only show off at their discretion.

Nestled in the heart of the enchanting Eastern Himalayas, Gorumara National Park stands as a testament to the raw, unbridled beauty of nature. As dawn breaks, the mist delicately lifts, revealing a landscape straight out of a dream. Towering ancient trees, their branches interwoven like a tapestry, create a cathedral of green. Sunbeams filter through, casting ethereal patterns on the forest floor, where a myriad of flora and fauna come to life in a harmonious symphony. In this wilderness sanctuary, where silence speaks louder than words, the air is imbued with the scent of exotic blossoms and the earthy aroma of rich soil. As you venture deeper, a gentle rustle in the bushes might reveal the elusive Indian elephant, their majestic presence a reminder of the park's importance in wildlife conservation. The playful antics of rare red pandas and vibrant bird species create a kaleidoscope of colors against the emerald backdrop. Gorumara is not just a park; it's a sanctuary of the soul, where the melody of birdsong and the murmur of flowing streams compose a serenade for the senses. The tranquility here is palpable, inviting you to pause, breathe, and marvel at the wonders of the natural world. Each step unveils a new mystery, a hidden gem waiting to be discovered—a footprint of a royal Bengal tiger, a cascading waterfall that glistens like diamonds in the sunlight, or a panoramic vista that stretches to infinity. As the sun sets, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, the forest embraces the night with a mystic charm. Under the canopy of stars, the nocturnal creatures awaken, their presence felt rather than seen, adding an aura of enigma to this already magical place. Gorumara National Park is not merely a destination; it's an experience that etches itself into your memory, leaving you with a profound sense of awe and reverence for the wonders of the natural world.

Lush green.. dense forest. But if one expects birds and animals will follow will be disappointed. Maybe winter is a better time to visit. If planning to stay at lataguri one can stay in the resorts inside the forest.

It's all about luck here. If luck favours you, you can behold the sight of the Indian elephants, barking deers, peacocks and the Indian Rhino. The guides are very skilled and can spot them at one go. We had the time slot from 6am to 7:30am. The coolness of the fresh air and the morning sun will add an extra edge to the safari.
