Chapramari wildlife The closest railway station is Malbazar Rail Station. Chapramari is located around two hours' drive from Siliguri, the principal city in northern Bengal. The access from Jalpaiguri passes through the dense forests of Batabari range. Due to complications caused by monsoons, the wildlife sanctuary remains closed each year from mid-July to mid-September. A large variety of flora and fauna are found in the forests. Chapramari is known for its elephant population. Indian bison are very common in the Chapramari region. Rhinoceros, Deer, boars, and leopards are also found there. The place is popular with bird watchers, with parakeets, kingfishers, and green pigeons found in abundance. You will enjoy a lot even when you will go with your family or friends.

Excellent service and very professional drivers. Comfortable and tidy cars and trust me it is well worth it. They also provide potato chips and water to go. Don't even think about those overcrowded shared jeeps.

Nestled in the heart of nature's embrace, Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary stands as a mesmerizing testament to the untouched beauty of the wild. Here, where the sunlight filters through the ancient canopy of towering trees, a symphony of life unfolds in the most enchanting manner. The sanctuary, located in the lap of the Eastern Himalayas in West Bengal, India, is a sanctuary for both the creatures that inhabit it and the souls that wander within its bounds. As you step into this sanctuary, you are immediately greeted by a chorus of melodious birdcalls that resonate through the air, creating a harmonious ambiance that awakens the senses. The lush greenery, adorned with vibrant blossoms and fragrant wildflowers, paints a picture of paradise. A gentle rustle in the undergrowth hints at the presence of elusive creatures, adding an air of mystery to the surroundings. The sanctuary's true enchantment lies in its diverse wildlife. Majestic elephants, graceful deer, elusive leopards, and numerous other species call this sanctuary home. Every rustle, every call, and every fleeting glimpse of these creatures adds to the sanctuary's allure, inviting visitors to embark on a journey of discovery and awe. As the day unfolds and the golden hues of the setting sun cast a warm glow over the landscape, Chapramari transforms into a magical realm. The silhouette of ancient trees against the twilight sky creates an atmosphere of tranquility and wonder. Night descends, unveiling a different world altogether. The night sky, adorned with a myriad of stars, serves as a canopy under which the nocturnal beings of the sanctuary come to life. The distant hoots of owls and the eerie calls of nightjars only add to the sanctuary's mystical aura. Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary is not merely a place; it is an experience that etches itself into the memory, leaving a lasting impression on the soul. It is a sanctuary in the truest sense of the wordβ€”a haven for both the wildlife that resides here and the wanderers who seek solace in nature's embrace. In its mesmerizing embrace, Chapramari teaches us the importance of preserving the wonders of the wild, reminding us that in protecting these sanctuaries, we are preserving the very essence of our planet's beauty and biodiversity.
