This is a nice rustic home out in a village. As a westerner there were somethings I really enjoyed and some that seemed strange. The village and the people around the house were fun and very welcoming. My kids made many friends and had a lot of fun. There was also beautiful wild life. We saw many birds and even a great horn bill. Many neighbors let us pet and play with their sheep and goats. The house itself is comfortable. Some softer mattresses on beds some very hard. This is where it gets no so good. The owner insisted on staying with us. He also let us know as a family of 7 we should not all bathe to much because of water scarcity. Also we should not use more than 3 of the bedrooms. Since we brought our own food instead of opting for their cooked meals he insisted we pay extra for using the gas and refrigerator even though a kitchen is said to be provided. Overall it was an okay experience. We do wish we knew the owner was going to sleep and stay in the house with us, that we would be charged to use the advertised kitchen and that the owners family was going to roam in and out of the house while we were there.

You will never find a better homestay, better hosts and a better location... Right across evergreen forests are the foothills of the Himalayas with the river Mahananda flowing in between... Only con is that it is about an hour's drive from NJP station, but I will still come here every time I'm passing by.

Not friendly and hospitable. When you call they talk as if they doing a favour Further you cant visit and book or inspect before booking ! EDIT: How can you prejudge without asking that I am a tourist or local ? If i want to see and book onspot then their is no option, as a customer i feel thats bad hospitality and lack of trust

Just about 5kms away from the hussle and bussle of Siliguri... No doubt the surrounding is so peaceful and quite and relaxing.... The owner here is very sweet and nice to talk to... The rooms are decent for the price and also the food isn't so bad... If you come here it would be nice for a day or two but not for long cause it may get monotonous after a certain period of time.... Please keep the area clean. Do not litter, have some love people. Enjoy your stay at Gulma!

Cozy place for short stay. The food is fresh and so tasty. The owner and the family is very helpful and gentle. Modern amenities are also available here. If you are lucky then you'll get the chance to see the wild animals from nearby Mahananda wildlife sanctuary. Calm and quite environment of the small village will be the added gift.
