I guess it would have to lose points for disabled access but otherwise this is a must-see piece of history in Yorkshire. You can see why it has featured in over 20 films and tv series, it's Victorian charm and unique situation, gives it an absorbing quality that transports you back in time. It has to be the smallest railway level crossing in the world too.

Lovely little spot here. The field overlooking the signal box is great for spotting. See attached phots.

Smallest station in the UK. It's a request stop and can only fit one carriage and requires a step to get on the train. Small road crossing and a single home signal make it a very charming stop with a small toilet and mini in door waiting area. Don't expect to get any food or drink here! It's also part of the railway walk that is worth a visit in the summer!

Wonderful little train station with friendly staff of ancient times. They don’t sell train tickets, but you can get them in the train (better bring cash, card does not work well)

Worst station on the line. Upon arrival, was greeted by a dog who wouldn't stop barking, and drove me mad. When I tried to talk to the stationmaster, he wasn't much help either. He said "the dog's not gonna go anywhere, but you can!" Nice station but look out for the worlds loudest dog before you park.
