In a member for over 1 and half year. Stuff is very nice and friendly. There is a lot of machines. Basically I’m happy with that gun except one thing. Whenever something breaks they fix it for long time… For example machine for leg curls was broken 3 months ago. Please fix it!!!!

I used go here 3 times a week as it was convenient, due to my work place being right across Thornbury roundabout. I must say although it would get busy, their was ample machines to use, and mostly always could get onto my work out stations. The folk that went there were mostly decent peeps, and some funny guys too. It also has separate ladies only area, separate showers and changing rooms. The staff were all polite and friendly, and very helpful. The showers were always warm, and changing rooms cleaned and tidied every hour or so. Machines all got wiped down every few hours. Unfortunately due to covid I had to close my business down, so didn't renew my membership after that, as it's too far for me to travel just for a gym, as I live in Leeds. If I was going to Bradford 3 times a week would defiantly join again...

Never ever use this gym!!!!! I have been using the gym since March and never had an issue with parking until recently, where I’ve been given 5 parking notices £51 each even though I use the gym and never stay over an hour. This is ridiculous. And it says free parking on their website for this branch! DO NOT USE THIS GYM!

PureGym Thornbury Is an exceptional gym, that is highly convenient. Upon entering the Gym we are greated by a large section for cardiovascular activities as well as weight machines, the large variety of equipment allows you to explore and find what works for you creating a open and diverse environment, both males and females can mix without any discrimination, whilst also providing a separation with the separate female area providing comfort whilst promoting equality for those who require it. The staff are friendly, equipment is clean, and the management are aware of their job role and what they need to do to ensure all service users can take part in their activities (reminding others to put their weights back after allows others to be away from avoidable harm). I have been at this gym for a long period of time and can say as an individual who came in obese and borderline diabetic, I had lost over 20kg, dropping from 90kg of pure fat to a much more slimmer 70kg, I'm back to 90kg now however this is the process of my dirty bulk and heavy lifting. This gym is going to help me cut and ensure that I will eventually maintain a much healthier physical appearance as well as supporting my mental health. Thank you PureGym, and for those who want a gym to start working out do it! Join puregym and change your life for the better!

Bog standard gym, but expected for the price. What I didn't expect was the scam they operate with the retail park about parking. I joined and went each day after signing up. After 2 weeks I received a £65 parking fine for using their carpark! Obviously, without knowing I'd already parked 12 times and received a fine each day after the first one arrived for the next fortnight. I appealed and showed that I was a member of the facility, they reduced it to 10.... FOR 1.!!!. I raised it with PureGym on their customer service email, as the staff at the gym are basically zombies. They said the parking and facilities are not their responsibility. So, they are happy to not explain there is some weird parking set up, whereby you are scammed out of £65 each time you park. Don't offer any help, or even attempt to explain how you might avoid getting a fine. Don't waste your money at this virtual gym. Nobody cares and you get just as good a workout at the park. Colluding in a massive rip off.

Classes are great but now are being cancelled at the last minute or change of instructor which is not reflected on the app. Can be quite misleading then as to which instructor is doing what classes. Usually happens to the Friday's classes and if another instructor is taking over for whatever reason, needs to be updated on the booking system too then!

Worst gym in Bradford. Main machines missing. Not enough small (10 and 12kg)dumbells. People don't put back the weights. Only reason I coming here is because this is the closest gym but i will change soon.

I've been a member of pure gym for a couple of years but after the recent 6 months there, I'm moving to another gym. The quality in equipment has gone downhill massively. The equipment itself can take weeks to be repaired. There's been a massive turnover in staff members recently, some aren't welcoming or approachable. The atmosphere in the gym has changed, members don't put equipment away and aren't reprimanded for it. Even staff leave equipment and don't tidy up after themselves. Toilets aren't always the cleanest. The plus side to it is there are a few classes that are enjoyable, would highly recommend the Zumba or any of Simon's or Martins classes.

good gym appart from the aging equipment and the repairs take for ever, also there's a few machines that are missing which are vital for a gym to be complete. All in all 3 stars is a fair rating. Staff is good gym is clean! Just missing out on a few things and repairs take way too long in my opinion.

Being a member here and at pure gym for years. Overall gym is reasonable. Not updated any equipment for years, two hand grips for the whole gym, which are definitely the same ones from before Covid. Worst part of this gym, they have sold their car park off to a third party company. Which decides to fine you whether you follow their procedure or not, Poor behavior, and to fine members for using the gym, using the car park they have used for years. Clearly out to make every penny they can, quit my gym membership of 5 years, won’t accept their lack of appreciation for their members. Out with the chains and support independent businesses that don’t behave like this

🤢🤮🦠Filthiest gym i ever seen 🤮🤢 I wonder how they get away with this, i joined there and there was Mucus on one of machine after 2 weeks i left and it was still there, if you care about hygiene there is No Cleaning station, never seen a hand wash and tissues In toilet, showers is full of hairs and since no windows most likely you end up with sore throat as i am sure by looking at over all Standard of this place i am sire they don't gives a S### about cleaning the filter, and if you park and forget to add your number on device you end up with £65 fine. I will Stay away from this 🦠 Disease 🦠 gym at any cost 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

The gym prides itself on creating a comfortable environment for all genders involved including a women’s only area which is rare and very handy. The PT’s are all welcoming and kind and willing to help out. You can tell this gym wants the best for its customers.

Good gym, great staff although machine to hip thrust is missing and you should add it

  • 2/5 Eddah W. 7 months ago on Google
This gym is big and spacious but the dirtiest gym so far and very unhygienic. I have been to different gyms in bradford and it looks like unhygienic issues are obvious. Machines should be wiped down after every use, the toilets should be cleaned regularly, antibacterial sprays and disposable tussue towels should be placed on different lacation inside the gym to allow customers wipe down the machines after every use. I have been in to gyms in leeds and can't be compared with gyms in bradford because gyms in leeds are super clean and very hygienically managed. Most bradford gyms such as JD gyms and pure gyms are dirty, do smell and toilets very dirty and soiled, shower and changing rooms not cleaned, bins full and not emptied. Sad! Be ready for covid cases!

Overall the gym is a good clean gym, however there are areas of improvement for instance the equipment is ageing needs modernising, there are a few more bits of gym equipment required to make this a better gym especially more leg equipment, the yanga machine which we pay extra to use always seems empty and only disperses water also why is there no heavy bags ? There is plenty of room for at least 2 these are a must have in any gym great for cardio and weight loss. This gym could easy be a 5* but seems there is no passion from the team to make it any better nothing has changed in this gym in the last 8 yrs sad really has so much potential.

Very good excercise machines, clean and very easy and smooth to enter and leave. One feedback is to possibly install separate changing cubicles for those who want that extra privacy to change into gym clothes. Otherwise i 100% recommend to anyone. Very good membership prices as well.

One of the worst PureGym I've been to. Bins are overflowing, litter all over the place, it's really rundown and needs repairs... The best thing about this gym is the temperature and flow of the showers

Decent gym, I used to train here prior to covid and it was quite worth what you paid for in terms of membership. There was a male cleaner that used to work here on nights, his customer service was always 10/10, he was one of the reasons I stuck here for as long as I did.

Friendly, inclusive gym - as an 'older' gym user I never feel judged or awkward. Also, a HUGE thank you to AJ who went the extra mile when I locked my key in the locker 🤭👍🏼👍🏼xxx

Plenty of space for all the guys in tight tops to flex in front of the mirrors, which give folk like me a chance to use the equipment.

Absolutely abysmal gym with ageing equipment that takes forever to repair. Gym also lacks key staple equipment which every other gym has. Turn over of staff is high and every time a new manager joins, the same old false promises commence yet each and every one of them has zero power of influence to make changes. If it werent for the close proximity to my work place, I would never attend this gym. It is getting worse by the day. Common get our by upper hierarchy is to speak to manager but as explained above he has zero influence to make realistic changes requested by everyone. Pure Gyms half the size of Thornbury, Bradford have much more equipment, its embarrasing.

It's a lovely, clean friendly place. The only issue are the women's area. It could do with being bigger and more equipment for glutes and arms. It gets quite full. Because a few of us suffer from anxiety it's really frightening going into the main area to use equipment. The air con in the changing rooms is nice at the moment with it being so warm but when they're on in winter it's really not nice, especially when you're coming out of the showers. You end up with hypothermia. Overall though, it is a nice gym.

Been coming to the gym since it has opened over the last month the standards have dropped a lot and they have m9ved the weights around they are no warm up weights next to where the weights are they have been moved to the other side of the gym for some reason Also when they have classes on all the warm up weights get taken to the classes or around to the girls sides And they are no steps either when ever classes are on they get taken there Seriously considering leaving not happy with the way the gym has gone over the last month

Nice gym, spacious, nice showers, good variety. Don't like the fact you have to sign your car reg in. Otherwise all good.

Just joined the gym at £0 joining fee The classes are quite challenging but fun especially LBT However I think manager (think he's the manager) is quite rude at times. My friend and I took part in circuits and he kept making silly remarks like how big she was indirectly. She was really upset afterwards and embarrassed and not going back to his classes. Apart from that there is a good choice of classes .

  • 3/5 Daniel A. 2 years ago on Google
Has everything you need. It's a bit small, but there is decent parking and it was fairly quiet even at a peek time. The changing room was a bit beaten up though with lots of damaged lockers.

Good space for workouts, but my daughter and I caught covid from there last Friday (Christmas eve). We used to see staff constantly cleaning at the beginning of the year, but recently I've never seen anyone cleaning /disinfecting any machines /equipment. Please be careful
