Myself & my partner have been coming to this coffee shop for sometime, but unfortunately after today’s experience which appears to be a recent change of ownership/ management, we no longer feel comfortable visiting and wouldn’t recommend this place. We recently moved into the area and decided to visit a few of our local favourites. I’d picked up pastries and a takeout coffee on route to tambourine and arrived at the shop with an empty cup and a brown paper bag. My partner ordered a coffee while I sat down, my intention was to order breakfast and a coffee. Unfortunately the Manager delivered my partners coffee to our table whilst pointing out that I had products from other businesses with me, accusing me of being rude for bringing them on their premises. Feeling uncomfortable, we left for a moment and decided to return to speak with the assistant to relay our experience. During which the manager that had originally approached us said ‘This is going to be a long conversation’ and then laughed at us as we left. We felt bad for the assistant who clearly also felt uncomfortable and apologised to us. We understand that a coffee shop would be protective about their territory, but this does not make for a welcoming atmosphere and there are much better ways to address these things without making customers feel uncomfortable. It’s with regret that we wouldn’t want to return or recommend this place as the values it once held appear to have gone.

Was in Shipley while visiting family, and we selected this place for drinks and sweet treats based on the good reviews. We weren't greeted or even acknowledged by any of the staff, which set the tone for the rest of the visit. Despite it being mid-week and relatively quiet, service seemed disorganised, with drinks and food coming out at different times. There was a hair in one of the pastries we ordered, and I was left to wait for my order (2 pieces of toast and a glass of water, so nothing complex) long after everyone else in our group was finished. The two people who served us were apologetic about these issues, but you'd expect a bit more than a simple "sorry", really.

How coffee is supposed to be!! What a breath of fresh air after the few terrible experiences we've had lately. I had a decaf latte, my partner an decaf oat flat white. My latte was perfect (and I don't use that word often!) - not too hot so it still had that gorgeous sweetness to the milk, excellent texture ie not too frothy or too thin, the strength was spot on (nice and strong) and it tasted amazing despite being decaf which can be very hit-and-miss. Super impressed. My partner's coffee was just as good in all those ways. The cheesecake brownie was also insanely good - such a massive piece for the price, so tasty, gooey, chocolatey, with huge slabs of delicious chocolate throughout, best I've ever ever had. My partner's (huge!) peanut butter and jam flapjack was also good, slightly dry but still very very tasty. Vibes inside we're super chill, scandi, zen, hipster, light, clean etc etc - all the stuff we're into. We sat outside on the street as it was such a hot day, lovely place to watch the world go by. Could not recommend more! 10/10.

I’m tempted to say that this is the only speciality coffee shop in the area? The overall experience was good. Nice ambience, a good amount of seating and overall, a light and spacious feel considering the size of the shop. Coffee is good. The barista is obviously competent pulling a good shot for my flat white and texturing the milk nicely. It’s not quite up there with the best coffee shops in Leeds but easily the best in Bradford if you want non commercial coffee. The cake selection was limited. We opted for a chocolate cookie which was pleasant. Service was fine. I would like to know more about the coffee that’s being served, so perhaps a board with some info and a guest espresso would make a nice addition so customers have some level of choice. One thing I would suggest, don’t start shutting shop before the stipulated time, I could see other customers noticing this as well. I think overall, this is a decent option if you want to move away from the likes of Costa and Starbucks and have a more authentic coffee experience.

Delicious lunch, the pea soup with focaccia was very tasty, and would recommend a slice of nectarine& fennel loaf with a flat white 😊 Very cosy, friendly atmosphere!

We stumbled upon this cafe while visiting Saltaire and we were so glad we did. Really inviting space with delicious coffee, lunch options, and sweet treats. It was so good we went for coffee and then again for lunch after exploring Saltaire. Huge bonus for not charging extra for oat milk and the staff were super friendly.

Brilliant coffee shop for a chillax time especially when it is sunny. You can just sit by the window facing the street to watch people or cars or inside for more privacy. Delicious coffee that did not need anything adding. Their chocolate chip cookie was amazing too! Highly recommended! 👍

Unscrupulous management- having been a loyal customer for years, I am disappointed to say I will no longer be giving my custom to this coffee shop. Management that disregard supporting local businesses, coupled with zero regard to customer. My visit today was swiftly overturned when the new manager approached my partner in a sniggering manner for holding a (non branded) coffee cup; his flare of ego, and zero regard for customer satisfaction made us feel so uncomfortable that we left the shop without even having the drink I ordered, or before my partner could order his. Upon returning for a conversation of feeling disrespected, his staff were respectful in apology, but the manager posed to laugh. Saltaire is community that holds each local business together- this management have a differed vision.

Speciality coffee all the way. A Brilliant coffee shop that i always visit when in Saltaire. North star coffee on tap made by baristas. New outside seating, a new layout inside with more seats and really beautiful crockery all implemented since my last visit too. Everything is made and displayed with love.

Really good coffee and nice food, mostly vegetarian. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere. Decaf and regular coffee taste great and particulary like theie frittata.

There were no sandwiches available. Mainly vegetarian options were available. The interior decoration is not rich and the chairs are not very comfortable. The coffee is nice.

I feel like this is what real coffee tastes like. I usually get an iced latte with vanilla syrup. Exceptional taste. It makes all the chains seem irrelevant. Always amazing service with a smile too. Would highly recommend if you’re near the area

I ordered a three cheese and spring onion toastie and a vanilla iced coffee. The food was flavourful and filling, and the salad was very tasty, I enjoyed the combination of flavours. The coffee was mid, and it definitely could be improved. The service was good. The atmosphere lets the place down a little, in my opinion In the sense that there isn't much atmosphere, it reminded me a little of supermarket cafe vibes, like if lidl or aldi had a cafe [very minimal but not intentionally trendy] Also, it needs better ventilation. The smell of vinegar when you first entered was overwhelming. I can see myself coming back for a quick lunch sometime and maybe trying other coffees.

I’m an ultra coffee snob and it’s difficult , almost impossible to get good specialty espresso in the Shipley/Saltaire / Bingley area. This place is brilliant! barista knows what they are doing so I love it. It’s a lot steamy humid in the café which doesn’t make it feel that great inside, but that’s a minor knock and probably isn’t an issue in summer.

A delightful, quirky and unusual little cafe. Actually, I'm not sure the word cafe does it justice. Anyway, I digress, its a cosy and welcoming place and the owners/staff are as cordial as it's possible to be. Simple fayre such as sandwiches and cakes are on offer but can I just add that you will not find a better toasted sandwich than theirs anywhere in West Yorkshire. They are epic. If you're ever in Saltaire you're spoilt for choice when it comes to eateries or places to have a brew but do give Tambourine a visit. It's great.

I’ve been here numerous times, the food is excellent with great seasonal dishes fantastically prepared and presented. Good espresso and other drinks. Definitely worth a visit when you’re around.

Love the coffee here and the seating area has massively improved. Not had the food here but the only reason for 4 ⭐️ is that when you sit in you usually risk smelling of food as it’s open plan. Needs better ventilation I think. I usually opt for takeout coffee.

Great coffee and vegan cake! Friendly service and a nice atmosphere, with bike parking right outside. What more could you want?

So, found this shop by accident. Small range of stuff but everything is nice. Great hot chocolate! Really pleasant staff, always smiling while never seeming false. Genuinely seem to enjoy their job. Great little place.

Visited for the first time today, my mum had the salad plate and I had the homemade soup! It was absolutely delicious! Everything was so fresh and you could tell most things if not all are homemade! The only thing I will mention is the aubergine pure on the salad plate was a little over powering with garlic but over everything was spot on. Will be back again soon x
