First time since the new owners had changed the layout and opened up more space upstairs...took my Romanian rescue doggie ( turns out she doesn't like French Bulldogs). All great and busy. No idea about service at the bar as I was treated!!

Fantastic....wonderful pub.... Two pints of Landlord & two packets of Piper's sea salt crisps, sat outside, absolutely hit the spot @ 6pm, Sat 26th Feb 2022, after a 40 mile cycle ride... The greatest pub in history; when it rains, they pour.

Wonderful place. Great choice of beers. Thoroughly recommend. Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. I remember Fanny's being a venue where you could only buy take away containers of beer. It has evolved and is now one of the very best pubs in the Saltaire / Shipley area.

They've changed the bar so it's more a thoroughfare now, people are not encouraged to stay around the bar so not as friendly. No longer the rock juke box and plays Taylor Swift and the charts instead :(. Juke box very quiet too! Toilets cold. Definitely lost a lot of its charm and feels more mainstream. Not sure the owners are from a pub background. OK location though.

Sat outside in the sunshine, albeit on the roadside. Really accommodating staff, my friend couldn't decide what to drink! The interior looks good too ... none of the old charm is lost!

I was made to feel very welcome even though this was my first visit under this management. Great traditional surroundings with a new modern bar. Good selection of ales lagers and ciders. Will be back

What a great little pub. We walked past it the day before, but was advised to go back and have a drink. Good beer, plenty of staff and clean. Well worth the visit

I’ve been coming here on and off for years but in the last week I’ve been twice and the atmosphere and service is excellent. Had an issue with a beer and this was changed without any quibble and given quality service. Thanks

Shipley is blessed with some very good pubs. Introduced to this gem of a pub by a friend on a visit to the nearby salts Mill this is definitely worthy of five stars. This lovely rustic Style pub has a fantastic range of cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. There is also a good range of other beers and lager. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and so are the other customers. It's dog friendly too. A great pub highly recommended.

Fanny's Alehouse has a great atmosphere and is a fun find. Quirky interior with lots of rooms and space for boardgames. Love it here so far.

Nipped in here for a drink when in the area. A good range of beer and was served perfectly. Deceptively bigger inside spanning two floors. Would recommend.

A pub serving gluten free hand pulled beer? Well I never! Coeliacs get down there. Brilliant!

Really friendly owners, beautiful decor with fires lit, good selection of pints and close to the station/art gallery. Gluten free pint on tap as well which is nice!

Called here Sunday lunchtime for a couple of pints. Great selection of ales, lagers etc on offer at reasonable prices in a fantastic nostalgic interior. The shipyard was served perfectly. The owners were most hospitable. Highly recommended.

Can’t help but feel this once atmospheric, historic pub has lost its soul. The renovation has removed a lot of the charm and was saddened to see the gas lights have now been replaced by electric ones. Staff were boozing behind the bar and playing bad dance music when I popped in last night. Seemed strangely quiet for a Friday night too - perhaps I’m not alone in my thoughts?

Quiet when I arrived, staff were present. Great range of real ale, lovely pub with assorted benches, tables, chairs & standing. Later on, nice people, good chat. Summary: great beer, great people.

Five star from me, more if I could. Fantastic choice of ales and great service on every level. Not sure if they do food but plenty of local options if not. At least three coal fires, plenty of space inc up stairs. Great value. What’s not to like. Dogs welcome. Highly recommend

Best bar in Yorkshire. Staff so friendly. Beers Brill and dog friendly.

Love the bar but they have changed the music and it honestly puts me off. They play disco music in a old mans pub on a Mid week day. So loud and annoying. Just put something normal and less irritating on. The jukebox is also expensive. They know the music is bad which is why they replied with the below.

A friend recommended Fanny's Ale House to us and we were not disappointed very older worlde great staff nothing too much trouble for them you can't find pubs like this anymore was a pleasure to go back in time 😀

Great spot for a beer, plenty of atmosphere and plenty of ales to chose from. Decent price for drinks as well. Really liked the Virtuous from kirkstall brewery. It’s an old police station so there’s a crazy layout with lots of random areas very cool.

I remembered this as a great bar when I last visited far too many years ago, and was pleased to see it hadn't changed at all. A fantastic range of beers, all in perfect condition - in fact, the guy who served us came back to check a pint we'd had was OK as it was from near the end of the barrel - it was, but that just goes to show the emphasis they put on quality. A great atmosphere where conversation and well-chosen music rules. Just what a pub should be.
