Bar Pub

👍👍 Visiting Bradford 33 years after graduating and the same length of time between pints here. What a *great* pub. Easily the best pints we had all weekend and it's still a proper pub with a large range of ales and a friendly landlady. Didn't want to leave. Well worth your support. One of the top places in Bradford for real ales and ciders. Simple and hearty basic pub food at lunchtime is tasty and good value. First class managers and staff can guide regulars to their best selection, and give good explanation and testers to newbies. Beers all well kept. A rare and winning combination !

Fantastic pub. Moved to Market Deeping from Bradford in 1987. Recently met up with a group of old Grattan friends, 8th August 2018 in the Fighting Cock. Apart from Jim not being behind the bar the pub was just as I remembered. Hope it will not be another 30 years before I return again. Best beer pub in Bradford.

Fantastic traditional pub with a fine range of cask, lagers & bottle conditioned beers. Supported by real cider, good food and spirits. All enjoyed in a friendly atmosphere. A proper gem of a pub!

Great pub. I've been a few times over the years. (I live over in Lancashire). Always very friendly and having a quality pint in a nice relaxing environment is always welcome. Thanks to the owner/barman for his advice on things to do in Bradford, along with a good chat. Recommended..!!

I would love to give this place five stars but it is in dire need of TLC. The exterior needs a good lick of paint as it looks the same from thirty plus years ago. Take a leaf out of Jacobs well book, a basic pub but clean and inviting. Otherwise it could be a great pub with an excellent range of beers

An absolute Bradford drinking gem. A must visit when in Bradford if you love your ale.... a full rainbow of selection of beer colours always on. Never fails to be a good pint....

An authentic pub with no pretentious 'olde worlde' make over. Excellent selection of ales at reasonable prices. A gem!

This is an old style watering hole with lots of real ale history. I visited this establishment on a Saturday lunchtime on the way to Shipley, and there were only 3 people in it. Maybe it gets better later on. There were about 5 beers on offer (with room for more, apparrently 8). The beer I had was quite good, but later, a few friends arrived (bound for the same destination in Shipley) that didn't like theirs (but I can't say why). The pub itself is in need of some TLC and appears to have been neglected for some time, A bit like the area around it, which was a quiet industrial zone devoid of people. In fact, the whole area appears to be somewhat neglected. There was no food on offer. There is a beer garden available for those balmy days just situated across the narrow road. It was nice to see some of the old memorable decor, fireplaces, and pictures about What was once a beer drinkers milestone is now sliding into disrepair. Perhaps it's a non fashionable district nowadays. I certainly hope it picks up as I would like to try again at a more popular time.

Revitalised, beer as good as was before Covid. Has an open drinking area across the street now. The dodgy but useful taxi firm at the top of the street is now a halal meat wholesalers, so get a taxi on your mobile.
