Lovely friendly pub, popped in after the bradford v leyton Orient football match, I was an away fan and it looked like a regular location for the home fans, but everyone was lovely and chatty and we discussed the game and hopes for next season. i imagine it might be busier pre-match and limited to home fans depending on any rivalries or reputations, you would need to check, also noticed there was a large beer garden which must be in high demand for summer days. Highly recommended.

Pub is fine ; usual Sam Smiths attention to detail when it comes to historic detailing wood panelling multiple rooms old pictures etc their full range of keg beers + old brewery bitter on draught. However what has reduced this to a 1🌟 review is some bizarre and actually rude attitudes from the staff / manager / licensee (I'm guessing this is a tenanted Sam Smiths pub). On thursday night I ventured in about 9.30pm only to be told they were just closing early despite about 5 other people in there with sizeable drinks left playing dominoes I think. I didn't query but noting would try again another day. Could it be because the way I dress ? No surely not. On Saturday, have just literally come out of there. Requested landlord to take some pics, not allowed, no problem with that it's Sam Smiths policy. However the landlord barely turned around to answer me. Then on leaving I gave a courteous thanks to him - he couldn't even be bothered to turn around and return the compliment. Just mumbled what I presume was thanks. So much for Yorkshire friendliness. You won't get it here. Thankfully everyone else I've come across in my short break in Bradford has been super friendly. Can't recommend this pub for customer service, and it's possible there may be an element of transphobia here.

A hidden gem of a bear garden in central Bradford. Clean and well decorated inside. Traditional old pub friendly service.

What an absolute gem of a pub! Located on Kirkgate in Bradford City Centre, this Samuel Smith pub is so welcoming with Mick and Jackie; your mine hosts The pub is beautifully decorated to give you that 'homely' feeling. A stunning open fire to warm your cockles up on them cold winter evenings and a sizeable beer garden at the rear for the rays of sunshine we sometimes get in Britain But it's not the building that makes this a brilliant pub. It's the management, staff and customers!

Love this place, always a nice place for a quiet drink and a bite to eat during the day, and a lovely place at night. Great atmosphere in the winter with their open fireplaces. Good for watching sports as well.

Absolute hidden gem of a pub! Fantastic ale, fantastic prices and fantastic staff! Will definitely return! Check out their outdoor seating area.

The owner or manager of this pub is living in some bizarre false reality where the modern world doesn’t exist, obviously except when it suits. Mediocre beer, but I only had one because they don’t allow digital devices, so you have to listen to the staff joking with the ‘real’ customers. Don’t take card payment, cash only, good luck with that in 2022! Then again the place was pretty empty for 5pm, now I know why. If you’re under 75 give this place a body swerve. I’ll never go back.

This was a fantastic pub to drink in at, having the main options presented clearly at the till! The staff were friendly and fast, serving me a quality pint of lager. It is comfortable in outside seating and the setting indoors is lovely, especially with cleanliness being maintained!

A lovely little pub with a diverse crowd. Positioned between Forster Square train station and the town centre, so a great place to meet anyone coming in from Calderdale. Has a walled-in beer garden that allows smoking and keeps you out of the wind. I've met some right characters there! The Ale's are decent for the price and the atmosphere is surprisingly rural for the town centre. The staff are great but don't suffer fools.

Was very quiet at 10pm when I went in. So a good place if you want to have a seat and a chat with who ever you are out with.
