What an absolutely fantastic place this is. I remember going when I was young but this was the first time I have taken my kids here and they loved it. There is so much to do, we went with my 8 year old daughter who has autism and ADD, my 2 year old son and my 10 month old niece and all 3 kids enjoyed themselves and there was something to do. The only downside was that the weather wasn't great so we had to avoid the put door play bits but they looked great. We went on a Sunday and got there at 10 for when it opened and for the first hour it was relatively quiet, which was great for my kids. They had lots of interactive areas and great play areas. We booked our time slot and paid online, like you need to for most places these days, the prices were reasonable and then we found out that our tickets mean we can go back as much as we want for a whole year, we will definitely be making the most of them! We brought a packed lunch with us, my kids love a "picnic" so I can't really be sure about how expensive the cafe is. We did pop in for a drink each and if they are an indicator I would say it is a little on the pricey side. If you have a spare hour in the morning I'd recommend doing a picnic. I drove there as we are only 30 minutes away but if you don't have a car, Halifax train station is literally on the door step, that is not an over exaggeration, you can see the plat form from the reception. So it is excellent for transport links too. I would recommend anyone to go for a great family day out.

Incredible day out. We took out 15 month old so that he could have a fun place to have a walk around and explore without us having to say no to touching things. Better than we could have imagined my 15 month old explored, played and had such a fun day out. He was able to get involved with lots of the exhibits. The perfect place to take a toddler and plenty to do for older kids too. Highly recommended!

Amazing place. Educational and fun! Most things are probably best for kids up to 12 but older kids will enjoy it too. They have a gift shop and cafe on site, the food is reasonably priced. Sand pit outside so I'd recommend taking a little bucket and spade and a towel to get little feet clean. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

We recently visited Eureka and had a wonderful time. There is so much to see and do with a highly interactive element for the children to learn from. The staff are very welcoming and the cafe within the museum is really good. The 🍔 I had was above average and fairly priced. There's a well stocked gift shop prices reasonable too. There are 🚻 on all floors and lifts for those less mobile. Good thing about eureka is that you pay to go in however you get a free yearly pass so can go back as many times as you like with 12 month's. If you have children and fancy a day out I'd recommend visiting Eureka 👍🏻🤷🏾‍♂️😀

Pros: 1. Various sections for different kids' ages. We spent 6 hours there, did not spend time I all areas as some not suitable for below 5. Our daughters enjoyed every bit of it. Basically would need whole day to really spend time in most of the areas. 2. Friendly and helpful staff. 3. Beautiful place for family especially the kids Cons: 1. Parking not inclusive. 2. Cafe is small compared to total visitors capacity. You have to wait a bit during lunch hour to get a table.

Fun place. Lots of things to explore. Lots to learn for the kids. Some great models and lots they can touch or play on or with. Some of the features were a bit confusing or possibly weren’t working properly where you’ve got the dark rooms with lights that you’re meant to be able to interact with. The show was great fun the people performing in it were funny and managed to keep it going despite some unrest from some of the children. Parking was busy so used the overflow where there was plenty of space. It’s £3.60 for 4 hours. Which you can easily do that amount of time there. Also the train station is right outside so train travel would be a good option if that’s your preference. It’s a yearly pass so will definitely be back.

We had a great time at Eureka with our little one. We took her when she was 1 and now again at 2 and it was a totally different experience. There's still lots she couldn't understand but everything is so interactive it's a child's paradise. There's even some cool things to get involved in and learn as an adult. Banging instruments, shopping, banking, pretend driving, splashing in water, dressing up, sensory activities There's so much to do. There's also a cafe with reasonably priced food. There's a large car park on site that's £3.20 for upto 4 hours and Eureka do a package where you can go back as many times as you want in year on the same ticket. Staff are all really friendly too.. enjoy !

Did you know they have a sensory room/ chill out room... Staff are very well trained and aware of special needs. We were shown to a separate desk, offered ear defenders and told about a quiet room if we needed it. (we did and it was amazing! The staff member we found was perfect it was her first week but she was excellent). There were crash mats and weighted blankets dimmed lights and blinds making the room almost silent and very dark. We chose to use a bubble lamp with the blanket. There was a phone if we needed it and a staff member came to check if we needed further help. I can't praise Eureka staff high enough for their training on sensory needs!

This is a very good interactive science centre, my granddaughter loved it. It got a little bit noisy with two school bus loads in, but everyone there was enjoying themselves. Plenty of knowledgeable staff on hand for information. Good food at normal prices.

This is our 4th visit this year we! We absolutely love it here! Kids age 8 and 5. Never get bored and loved coming back. Definitely recommend. After paying for the first visit you get a 12 month free pass. Definitely worth it, can't believe we get to come for free for a whole year now. Also the food is lovely and its a very short, less than 5 minute walk to town and only a couple of minutes away from the Peace Hall which I'd Definitely recommend a visit to on a nice day!

Great place for the kids! Not somewhere to spend all day , I am aware we came during summer holidays so was maybe extra busy but it was very hard to have a go on everything despite a few trips around the whole place. Despite missing quite a few things, we stayed around 2 hours but too be honest it was far too busy for us! The exhibitions were great for children though and even adults will learn something I’m sure, I just didn’t like queuing for each one absolutely boiling jammed packed with people just for my little boy to put clothes in a pretend washing machine 🥵! I would definitely recommend a trip here but maybe not during the peak seasons. We didn’t visit the cafe as again it was packed! Really glad to say we’ve visited finally but I wouldn’t rush back unfortunately!

Amazing place. Wonderful exhibitions. Staff are so lovely and helpful. Great and really reasonably priced Cafe. The only negative is the poor rage in the over priced gift shop. My 3 year old is excited to go again soon.

We have been here for multiple visits, and my children love to go. I would say it would be entertaining for children up to age 10. Since our last visit a few years ago, it was good to see some areas of the museum updated, particularly the area with cars on the lower floor. The changing exhibition spaces also ensure there's often something new to see. The museum can get very busy. This time we went at the end of the Christmas holidays, and it was probably the busiest I've ever seen it. Mid afternoon, the upstairs space to do with the human body was too loud and busy to enjoy properly. During term-time is a good time to visit with little ones not yet at school, but be aware that there's very often school visits to navigate around then. I'd definitely recommend arriving for opening time to make the most of the area downstairs whilst it's quiet. There is an onsite cafe with a good selection of meals at a reasonable price. On busy days, it's worth going in before 12 if you want a table to eat at. Tickets must be bought online in advance and are valid for a year's entry.

It was a really good day out with my niece. She really enjoyed herself even though most of the museum is better suited for kids younger than 10 years old. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I remember going when I was in primary school, and I'm so glad I was able to take my niece somewhere her mum and aunties had gone as children. Definitely recommend it as a day out.

Fabulous interactive museum for children to learn more about bodies, sound, light and enjoy lots of role play activities. We also thought the 3 man show in the theatre was terrific. Funny, witty, informative and musically tailored to a family audience. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The shop had reasonable prices and the whole place was perfect for a stimulating 3-4 hour visit with two 7 year olds. Parking cost £4 on top of the entrance fee but good value for a special treat.

I took my 2 and 3 year old granddaughters, they absolutely loved it. There is so much to see and do. We were there for 4 hours but couldn't easily have spent longer, will definitely go earlier next time. It is quite expensive unless you are going to take advantage of the annual pass, which we definitely will.

We asked our daughter where her favourite place was and this was one of them! Everything is aimed at children and will suit children of a wide range of ages. Almost everything is interactive and play based. We first visited with our daughter when she was two and she's now four and there's always been plenty for her to do and during that time activities have been updated and replaced so things don't get too tired or dated. Even our four month old enjoyed some of the more visual activities, and it's fun for adults too. Firm favourites for our four-year-old are role playing in the M&S shop, the ball conveyer in the desert area and water play in the bathroom, it's also good fun being a post-person delivering post to different areas of the museum. Oh, and watching Archimedes take a dunk in the bath tub on the hour and half hour (which is something my husband remembers from visiting here as a child!) Tickets last for a year which is great since there's so much to do we've never been able to see the whole museum in one day. If you don't live locally I recommend booking an early slot. We have always visited on weekends and it does get very busy especially as the day goes on, if you or your child struggle with crowds and noise it is probably better to visit in the morning. The museum is right next to Halifax train station, and also has a large pay and display car park. There is a cafe on-site which is a bit on the pricier side, and large indoor and outdoor picnic areas if you'd rather bring your own food. This is a really great day out with kids and is somewhere we will continue to visit for years to come.

Fantastic day out for a 2 year old. Booked for Sunday morning 10.10am and quiet. So much to see and do and very little wait time. They also have an extremely well stocked craft room (we made a crown). Food was reasonable £4.75 for jacket potato with cheese and beans and £3.00 for a children's pasta and tomato sauce with a garlic bread (huge portion). Free water is also available in the cafeteria at the end of the counter. All the staff were friendly and kind- adding to an excellent experience. Two little niggles-Ticket machine for car park was broken but you could pay at the desk. Let down by baby changing facilities considering it's a place for families (1 baby change per floor) and the toilets are tiny- leading people with toilet trained children to use the baby change cubicle because there was more space- meaning more time to wait/having to queue to change a nappy. Eureka also provide free annual entry if you've never been before which we'll be sure to make sure of making it fantastic value 😄

I love Eureka. We came as kids and so did my younger brother and sister. Now I get to take my little girl. She loved it. There is still plenty for her to do and look at even though she is only 2. £14 might seem steep for an adult when you can't do much but the ticket can be registered for an annual pass. So it's actually £14 for a year and you can go as many times as you like.

What a fantastic day! My 21 month old absolutely loved runny around and looking at all the different sections! My 3 month old also loves looking at all the lights. Cafe was fab with plenty of high chairs. I’d forgotten my flask and the lady behind the till was happy to sort me out with some hot water to heat baby’s milk. Once you’ve bought the tickets you can then go anytime once you validate your yearly pass. All in all a great day! Oh and right next to Halifax train station for easy transport!

An enjoyable morning here with my 3 year old. We were there for about 3 hours which included lunch. We saw everything. My daughter particularly enjoyed the cars and the doctor's/dentist/midwife bit upstairs. There was a fun game of duck target in the theatre too. Plenty of friendly/helpful staff and lots of cleaning going on. Only one family in the toilets at a time but the queue wasn't long. The cafe wasn't busy but again plenty of staff to keep the area clean and tidy. Some areas not suitable for pushchairs but they are buggy parks around. There is a lift but the stairs are toddler friendly as they are wider/deeper than normal ones. Recommend.

Brilliant day out for the whole family, both our 3 and 1yr old had a great time with lots to do for both of them. The staff were really welcoming, and the cake in the cafe was really good too! The real world play was a bit too busy being school holidays, but that's to be expected. We really loved the light rooms, and exploring the body parts.

We booked our family tickets online prior to going. Website is simply to use, the best thing is you can return for unlimited trips to the museum for the year. Inside the museum there are different rooms with various activities for kids of all ages. It allows children to develop skills through role play. However some of the electronic features didn't work because they were broken. From a covid perspective the museum is doing their bit with plenty of sanitisation and cleaning throughout. Some of the activities include M&S food hall, halifax bank, a garage, a kitchen and a bathroom a name a few.

It's our second visit as a family - we have a three and five year old. They love it. We typically come for around 2-3 hours but that's not for lack of things to do but more pacing our family life. You could easily spend a whole day here no problem. Although it is initially expensive - it is a year pass and one you will easily reuse if you live within an hour radius.

we have no car and therefore we search some place for our kid which is just next to public transport. It's perfect that it is just next to Halifax railway station. To be honest, it is not large and is not a place for the whole day, but it does give my 6 yrs kid a nice experience. It is really good that the admission ticket is an annual pass and valid for a year, so we can visit again anytime in the upcoming year once she wants to. (Just remember it's by appointment only) Just as the comments from others, the burger is unexpectedly good and fairly priced

My 2 year old loved it in her own little way m second visit and she interacted a lot more with the exhibits and role play areas than our first time. Can't wait to go again when she's a little older and starts properly learning from everything that is to offer here. She loves it.

We enjoyed the visit here, it's a very interactive museum as you would expect and there is lots to explore. The kids particularly enjoyed brushing the giant set of teeth in the health centre and playing in the kitchen and pretend shopping street. Facilities are generally good, there is a cafe and a kiosk for ice cream outside. There's a nice picnic area outside too. If you are in the area, the Piece Hall is worth a stroll around too and has some nice cafés.

Loved it here, so much to keep the kids entertained, very interactive. Car park right next to it. Def book in advance, it was sold out. For anyone with sensory issues - it was a bit overwhelming for my son at times. I believe they do quieter SEN days, though.

Absolutely brilliant! Visited with my one year old on a rainy day and it was absolutely fantastic. There’s plenty for young and older kids to do, it’s even fun for an adult too! The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. There’s a great big area to eat packed lunches which is always great! Every single toilet is clean and has a baby change so it’s always SO easy.

  • 3/5 Corkie B. 1 year ago on Google
It's not quite the same as when I first visited 30 odd years ago but it's not far off. They do have lots of interactive stations but child needs to be willing to read/wait for instructions. Was super noisy I needed my loops. Went in the afternoon but was still too busy. Will go back solo with eldest so she has time to take it in. New light room was good. Map could be more animated so children or those who struggle to read could visually see what to expect in the different sections. Cafe was excellent, definitely recommend the salted caramel latte cake!! Staff were lovely. No idea what was showing in the theatre couldn't easily see what was on or when but may have been due to arrival time (2:40pm) I remember the entrance being so grand when I was younger, definitely feels a little lack lustre on arrival. Would love some nature science with water areas and bridges (architecture science) And some ways of getting girls more into stem and away from delivering babies (though very valid and important too!)

  • 5/5 Ben S. 2 years ago on Google
Like the Science museum in London, this place is much more of an experience than a museum. Every kid in there seemed to be having a brilliant time and our 6yo was no exception. The place is really well laid out and stuffed full of fun exhibits. We spent just over 3 hours there and could have easily spent more. Shout out to Dan too who, dressed as an astronaut, spent at least 15mins giving us loads of great information on the local area.

There is easy, good value parking and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The activities range widely and appealed to all kids in our group (1 - 5) but I saw much older kids enjoying themselves (as well as adults!). So much variety all very well planned and educational as well as incredibly entertaining. A great cafe and fabulous outdoor activities too. We travelled over an hour to go and wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Our tickets are annual passes now so I expect we will go again very soon.

Such a good day out for kids. So much to see, do and learn. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The added extra of season activities was also great. Only thing that lets it down is some of the exhibitions are run down and need repair.

  • 4/5 Claire H. 2 years ago on Google
Great value play for your child as tickets can be converted into a yearly pass. Everything is always nice and clean. Plenty of toilets around the place with big enough stalls to have your little one in with you. Café is nice and clean with a good range of foods at a reasonable price. Can be crowded during busy times which makes it harder for the kids to all play at the same time causing some frustrations but there is a lot to do to distract them from this!

  • 3/5 Kirby B. 2 years ago on Google
Love this place, however was very busy when we went! Most places we had to move on from as it was far to crammed! When we arrived there was 2 people doing bubbles which the kids loved! We arrived early so enjoyed this experience before going inside. Unfortunately it was just too busy inside

  • 5/5 Jana O. 2 years ago on Google
This is a fantastic museum with interactives and hands on activities. There was also a 'Horrible Histories' session outside in a marquee which we all enjoyed. There is so much to explore for children (and adults!) of any age. Everything us clearly signposted, there is a picnic area with benches where you can stop and enjoy your lunchbag, or you can pop into a café which is onsite. All in all, great fun for all the family. We used our Tesco vouchers to purchase tickets online. At the moment, you can only visit if you book a slot in advance via online booking.

  • 4/5 Andrew S. 2 years ago on Google
Great for kids. Lots of interactive things to do which will be great for development. Your ticket gives unlimited access for a year so it's good value. Slight downside is that it is a very busy place and the noise & constant activity is a bit stressful. Friendly staff, good restaurant, plenty of space.

  • 5/5 kyle 2 years ago on Google
We decided to take our kids here as a surprise. Over an hour drive there and was totally worth it. The kids absolutely loved it and so did we. Lots of stuff to do, very interactive and kept our kids (who struggle to concentrate on anything) very occupied. Would definitely go again. Little pricey which could put people off, but you can easily spend 4 hours inside so makes up for the price. Absolute must for anyone with kids interested in science aswell 👍👍👍

It was a very good experience for my 5yrar old and 7-year-old. There were lots of learning and fun activities. Time went by so fast. The name suits the place. Don't forget to activate your annual pass to enjoy a free visit for a year. You will just book the date and time for the next visit.

A long-standing centre for both play and learning for children, that has proved itself as a tried and tested favourite for many years. Access via train is recommended due to being directly next to the Halifax station, which is on a main Northern line. Staff were friendly and approachable, with exhibits all working and well-maintained. There is a cafe area serving a general variety, some improvement from the staff and service needed in this department, particularly as the costs are above average, while quality is average at best. The overall atmosphere is pleasant, with good open space and clear zones for each theme of learning. Good value from the VIP pass, making a one-off ticket purchase reusable for a year, granting freedom of access to return and enjoy at leisure.

This is designed for kids so no surprise that my 3 year old enjoyed every minute of spending here and it was nearly 4 hours long! Great experience, absolutely recommend it. We were amazed at how fantastic Eureka was. We went with our two year old and lasted all day until it closed, so give yourself enough time. It's great for young kids' imaginations, and they can touch everything so you don't need to stress like normal museums. Really well thought through, and our kids loved all the role-playing sections. Well done Eureka!

Visited here today with our 3 yr old and he had a brilliant time. Loads to do and interact with and plenty of space. Really enjoyed the sparkzone and the living areas. So easy to get to and has a huge car park. It is okay and display but not expensive (3.60 for 4 hours, with other options available). Also a short walk into the town centre if you want to go somewhere for lunch. Would definitely visit again!

I took my Grandson Matthew who's Autisic, unfortunately he tripped and fell in the car park and the staff were amazing with him especially Alicia she was so wonderful, they took great care of him and sorted him out and made his day so special after such a bad start. Eureka is a must visit for any child or adult simple as that
