This is a fascinating museum, having displays such as animals, ornaments and tools in its spacious area! It is also well-organized, placing artifacts from specific time periods in the same glass boxes. Navigation in the museum is able to be done with ease since there are signs for all the floors, which you are able to go in lifts to. The staircase itself is massive, serving the clean museum well alongside its lifts!

A fine example of a good local museum. There's lots of interesting items and displays telling the story of Wakefield and its people. There's plenty to appeal to families with young children, too. An enjoyable trip down memory lane!

A hidden gem of a museum, my daughter loves dressing up and playing at kitchens, while I sit in a comfy arm chair and listen to wartime wireless. A variety of displays about Wakefield, all interesting and well put together. The current Charles Waterton exhibition is fantastic, narrated by famous names, including David Attenborough, with really detailed papercut displays of birds and trees, a must see. Great cafe opposite and a decent library upstairs.

Small but very interesting museum with something for everyone, activities for children & very helpful friendly staff. The audio & videos were particularly good and help us to understand how life used to be. Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.

Kids love it here, really interactive. They have activities for the kids to do and Staff are lovely and welcoming. The new Egyptian exhibit is of a modest size but packed full of interesting curios and in a purpose built mock Egyptian tomb. Well worth a visit!!!

A really lovely space to let kids wander around in and explore. It’s only small but you definitely could spend an hour here if you had some time you needed to kill. The library upstairs is lovely too.

Lovely small museum, with a surprising I will call Horror camera, with animals and some horrendous transformed animals. With a customer service more interested in talk to attend the only one visitor.

Have brought my son here from being a few months old, we loved story time and the museum is great. We still use the library now he's at school to discover new reading material and still love a look round the museum. Staff are friendly and helpful.
