We visited just after opening on a Sunday and, at first was put off by the size of the building it was housed in, but decided to give it a go anyway. So glad we did because it was crammed full of displays explaining all about the history of Harrogate and the baths. The lady on the till was welcoming and explained things to us. £3.50 per adult. £2.50 for concessions. Pretty sure the opening times were 10am-4pm.

Two years ago I wanted to visit but it was closed. So I decided to come back because I really wanted to visit this museum. It’s quite small but you learn a lot about the past of Harrogate. It’s very interesting to see how they used to live and how popular was the water of Harrogate. We spent an hour but we were really interested. If not you can clearly visit in less than 10 minutes.

A small, perfectly formed Museum. Worth an hour or more to find out about Harrogate as a fashionable spa town...and the rather weird treatments available to visitors!

Amazing place. The building is gorgeous. Lots of information about its use as a healthy bath spa. Doesn't cost much to go in. Will take about an hour to look at it all.

This is a small museum and doesn't take very long to go through, but it does preserve a very interesting part of history for the area. It tells you about the treatments that people would receive from the mineral wells in Harrogate, and how the high levels of mineral deposits in Harrogate's water put it on the map as a spa town and health center. The woman at the desk was very good and told us lots of information. While the museum could do with some updating and sprucing up, I am glad that we stopped by.

Very interesting history of the Pump Room, the spas and water/heat/electro treatments our ancestors endured.

Beautiful stained glass windows, very friendly, informative staff. Entry fee was reasonable; It's only small but holds lots of information about the area and treatments of the day. The Egyptian collection was also interesting. Really enjoyed the film at the end.

Really nice quaint little museum! Good value for money as a little activity when visiting Harrogate. Really like the focus on the origins of the town as a spa town and how it was supported by the working class. Some cool exhibits like the Fabergé cutler

First time visit here. Its a small museum & I think for what on offer a bit over priced to enter.

A sweet little museum, allowed 1h but only really needed 30minutes. Very cheap entry and good to learn about the history of Harrogate as a spa town. Would recommend.

Small, but informative exhibition about Harrogate - how from discovery of first spring in 1571 in this area developed prosperous spa town.

Good little snapshot of Harrogate and its spa history. The film at the end sorting the treatments is well worth watching. The glass floor where you can see down to the well head is good too. Wheelchair and pram accessible.

Very interesting museum telling the story of mainly the sulphur spring and which it was used for in the medical profession. Although the spring has been closed off, there is still a tap behind the museum if you’re brave enough to drink it!

Interesting history of Harrogate as a Spa town. The pump room museum has a number of artefacts, posters and other items which give a good understanding of life in those times. Old black and white video of treatments is surprising.

Very interesting insight into the history of Harrogate and how the town grew around the wells found in the area. Delightful and welcoming host too!

If you are interested in history and especially Harrogate history then this could be a place for you to visit. My wife and I visited and found it interesting and we just had to buy a fridge magnet on the way out.

Very cold inside when we visited but extremely interesting. Watching the videos on the tv before the exit is a must. A fascinating hidden gem well worth a visit.

Nothing is new on street free water taps outside the museum although that's do not appear to be potable.

Interesting exhibits at a reasonable price. Amusing to see all the weird treatments people used to subject themselves to. Don't miss the video of the therapies.

We really enjoyed our visit and learnt so much, especially from the temporary exhibition about the workers who made it all possible. Special thanks to Helen, who gave us an excellent introduction.

Excellent museum explaining Harrogate's historical spring water importance. Doesn't do it's self any favours unfortunately by a rather drab entrance and looks closed! But a "must see" place when visiting Harrogate. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

Great little museum, not much to get in. Very interested about how Harrogate became a spa town due to magnesium and sulphur water springs. Afterwards, walk round the back of the museum and stand over the water grate for your first whiff of sulphurous water.🤭 If you're brave, you can press the button and ..it advises NOT to drink it!! 🥴
