What a fantastic park with lots of different attractions. There is a beautiful house, cafe, farm and GoApe. Great scenery, lovely to walk with either with a family or a as a couple. Plenty of parking nearby! Would recommend to anyone. Went during a weekday and it was so peaceful. Lovely kept grounds in Leeds.

Lovely day out at this historic stately home and farm. Was terrific fun for the whole family and it includes a nice playground for the little nippers to blow some steam. There is limited free parking on the road just before the roundabout

A great place for children & big kids!! A wonderful nature trail, a beautiful lake, and a garden lover’s paradise. A stunning walled garden with a breathtaking glass house. The geraniums & rare breeds of flowers growing inside simply take your breath away. A small clean farm and playground to keep the children busy. A lovely tea room with delicious home made food. The house must be seen from inside. My grandson loved to explore the grand staircase and the dressing up play rooms. My favourite floor was the first floor grand master bedroom with its rich decor and drapings. Something for everyone to enjoy. A must visit. An absolute great value for money.

My favourite local dog walking spot. Beautiful landscaping, big enough to find space from others if you want that. Something for everyone. Flat accessible routes around the grounds, more adventurous, hilly routes through woodland, bridle paths, lots of different pathways through the grounds. Beautiful lake, visitor farm, Go ape, historical house and cafe. The walled gardens are looking amazing at the minute. Only thing that spoils it are visitors leaving litter behind on busy days. There are several free car parks available, and one charging car park next to the House.

A fab walk this time of year (May), the gardens are beautiful, the cafe had lovely fresh seasonal food on the menu with some great outdoor eating space. Good, quiet walks through the woods too. Great place to unwind.

Absolutely beautiful place. I got the impression that not a lot of people know of its whereabouts, but it truly is a wonderful place, worth visiting. We were a group of 4, booked a tour - it was only us and another person for the whole tour. I believe our tour guide was named Tyler - a charming lad, who explained many things in details, which was absolutely wonderful. The park is also marvelous - I wish I could go there every day. We would definitely visit again in summer.

A great day out, free parking and lots of easy walks in the area. The farm is fun at £4.50 per adult and with a nice range of animals. Even saw a 4 parakeets in the wild, reminded me of Kew Gardens.

Historical building with an interesting past. Henry the XII slept here. The manor is kept in very good shape and has a lot to look at inside and out. It is well furnished and you can get the feeling of the period. The staff was very informative and enjoyed sharing their knowledge. There are play stations and dress up for children. A wonderful place to spend some time and to take children. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Lovely place to walk around, with a farm, wooded areas, a pond, and beautiful flowers in the greenhouses if you go at the right time of year. You can also do GoApe which will need to be booked in advance. Large enough estate to spend most of the day. Child friendly. Also has a gift shop and cafe with tasty home made cakes as well as hot and cold drinks and hot food.

Beautiful indoors and outdoors. We've visited the house previously, but went back on a Monday (house closed) to explore the grounds. Absolutely beautiful to walk around, a gorgeous garden in good bloom even in mid September and a nice friendly cafe with lots of vegan options. We enjoyed our morning.

Period house on the outskirts of Leeds with extensive grounds and woodlands. Small pet farm, café and shop. We don't live too far away and pop along with our dog on occasion. Loads of free carparking (except the one next to the house) There's also a GO APE Ariel course on site. The grounds, parkland and Woodlands are all FREE to roam.

As a guest to a wedding being held at Temple Newsam House, we were privileged to see parts of the house not normally available to the public. The staff were really helpful. The reception was also held in the marquee located in the walled gardens. Another place worth a visit although the marquee is only open for weddings and private functions, the walled gardens are open anytime with all the flowers in bloom it it gorgeous. There is a charge to go into the house but not the gardens. The whole estate is beautiful, clean and well kept.

Great area to take the dogs. Plenty of open space to let them run free, or woodland to explore. Enjoyable in all weather. Toilets available and free car park near the go ape activity area

Temple Newsam is a really beautiful place. The farm is great and always has been and the playground inside of the farm is really good and well kept. The whole grounds are always well kept and there are plenty of walks that can be had around the grounds. A beautiful area of Leeds 👌

Beautiful stately house. Owned by Leeds Council. Part of Historic Houses and free to members of Historic Houses. Orginally Tudor it had gone through many changes of ownership and alteration. Beautiful interiors and interesting historic pictures elevate this lovely house. Once known as the Hampton Court of the North. So much to see. We didn't have time to explore the garden and lake. Nice cafe and gift shop.

Went during Halloween and it was SO MUCH fun. Temple Newsam house was so much bigger than expected. Easily spend 2 hours in there looking at each room. The walk from the nearest bus stop to Temple Newsam is also so scenic. In the evening, you see people walking their dogs and hiking. Green areas are very vast and the dense vegetation looks particularly pretty in autumn! Definitely worth a visit (or many) :)

Fascinating main building. Extensive grounds including lakes, formal gardens and glass houses. Good cafe, with decent coffee. Try the scones with clotted cream and jam. 😀

Great place to visit. The staffs were very kind and helpful. House ticket is £8, it's definitely worth it. You can view a lot of great art collections and see lavish decorations. At the end of the tour, there is a big ballroom where you can wear maid and noble clothes, it was really fun to wear them.

Beautiful countryside estate only 15 minutes drive from Leeds city centre... Magnificent house which you can spend hours in walking around looking at all of the different rooms. Staff are really knowledgeable about answering questions and know all the history of the place. Amazing grounds to walk around and have a picnic with miles of open space.

Good disabled parking for the walled garden. The herbaceous border and Delphinium collection is brilliant at the moment. Disabled parking too by the house but cobbled areas make for uncomfortable riding/walking. Courtyard cafe is great with nice food and cheerful helpful staff.

Temple Newsam is a magnificent historic estate near Leeds, UK. With its stunning mansion, beautiful gardens, and impressive art collection, it offers a captivating experience for history, nature, and art enthusiasts. The estate hosts events and programs, making it a wonderful place to explore, relax, and create lasting memories.

We had a fantastic day. I'm disabled and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was any trouble. The staff in the big house went above and beyond. The two chaps in the hut ( scooters) were wonderful Thank you we had a smashing day out.

Lovely grounds and well maintained, we just had a cup of tea as cakes and scones ranged from £3.95 - £4.50 an extortionate price, compared to other places!! Otherwise worth a visit but take a picnic, dogs allowed!!

  • 4/5 Nicholas B. 1 year ago on Google
An impressive building. Most blinds were drawn (presumably for conservation?) - a little odd but made for a nice atmosphere. Grounds quite something in the sunshine too. Small free car park as you enter the grounds.

  • 5/5 Emily G. 2 years ago on Google
Love Temple Newsam - always a great place to take the dog for a walk, to meet friends for a wander and a coffee or to see the beautiful rose gardens, where the roses actually aren't a patch on the rest of the plants & flowers there!

Wow what an amazing place, the house is simply stunning inside and out. Very helpful friendly staff. Endless parkland to explore, well worth the visit

  • 5/5 Dominic B. 2 years ago on Google
Brilliant place to take the dogs, with plenty of routes to take you can make the walk as long or as short as you need. Unlike Roundhay park, Temple Newsam doesn't get as crowded so I prefer it. Overall a brilliant place to go!

Had a great day at Temple Newsome, the outside courtyard for the tearoom was very busy, but quick service to your table once ordered. Lovely to see families and friends enjoying getting together in the sun. Fabulous walks along many paths and beautiful lakes. The walled garden is gorgeous too.

Beautiful venue. Some parking is free and some is charged. There is the main house, a farm, lots of green space, Go Ape and a cafe. Today we went to the farm. 4.50 per adult and you can buy tickets online or on site. Under 4s free. Really nice interaction with farm animals and examples of historic farm equipment. Very pleasant day topped off with an excellent park. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. See my photos.

Wonderful open views and great varied walks, so close to Leeds and the M1 but a real oasis of calm. In the time we were there we saw a heron in flight over the lake. Look forward to our next visit when we will visit the House.

Beautiful scenery all year round. The house itself is amazing and full to bursting with history in every corner not to mention stunning. The cafe and gift shop are a wonderful little stop after a day exploring the grounds. I visit here multiple times a week and it never gets old!

Visited here for the Christmas Light Trail event, which was fantastic and fun for the whole family! Cheaper than similar events too, although not as much to do. The drinks and food stalls were a nice touch, along with the toasted marshmallows over the fire! Definitely recommend!

Oh my goodness! We just had the BEST day out at temple newsam farm. You can get so close to the animals. It has a great playground! My 2 year old and my 8 year had an amazing time. And so did I!

  • 5/5 Nigel D. 2 years ago on Google
The walk of lights was fantastic from going in to the car park to walking around the lights with music playing. The thought that has been put in to the walk has been exceptional with plenty to see.

Close to home and absolutely gorgeous. Many different walks to explore

  • 5/5 James T. 1 year ago on Google
My second visit here. This time with family members. A thoroughly enjoyable day. House itself has many original furniture pieces, or pieces made and sourced locally. Good details in each room of the highlights to see. Helpful and friendly staff. There seems to be some building work on the farm to make it more accessible to kids, so we didn't visit this time. But previously it was good. The grounds and walled garden are also good to walk around.

We visited the Temple Newsam Farm over a week ago which was certainly good value considering the £4.30 admission cost and was also free for those aged under 4. They have the typical Farm animals, a moderate piece of history, a play area [swings/slides] for young children and the opportunity to sit on a tractor. The farm area was quite significant so I would recommend for families with young children, it was also nice walking around the immediate grounds of the Temple Newsam House. Whilst we did not enter the House on this occasion, I’m sure a view of the Tudor period would be of interest.

Like magic, this place is as indescribable as you can get. I was astonished with the main building in particular. The main feature and unusual feature is the fact that this is the only building I have ever visited that Praised the name of God. Totally amazing. The writings around this Majesty Construction states clearly/ BLESS IS THE NAME OF GOD, FATHER, SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT...... ETC I HAVE NEVER felt so strong to worship and praise the Name of God as much I have felt in this place. Temple Newsam, is a Tudor-Jacobean house in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The estate lends its name to the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council, in which it is situated, and lies to the east of the city, just south of Halton Moor, Halton, Whitkirk and Colston. House : Tues – Sun: 10.30am – 5pm Home Farm: Tues – Sun: 10am – 4pm
