What was once a busy bustling prosperous town centre has become an empty shell which has not kept up with other towns in Greater Manchester. Nothing of substance left in the main Rochdale exchange. Getting rid of the indoor market was the worst decision any council has ever made. A real self inflicted wound that will fester and end up fatal.

I still haven't understood why the wheatsheaf centre had to be abandoned and this new shopping area built. The wheatsheaf centre was a great design, everything under one roof, car parking on top, cosy atmosphere and security. I don't believe this new centre will attract more business.

This place you could get most things . Now a days you cant.It is such a shame. Every time I go in its like a shadow of its self . I feel sorry for the renters as its a massive worrie for them as to hire a shop in Rochdale ìts a huge amount of money.

Although some brilliant shops remain, too many are empty, including the market. Few people around on what should be a busy lunch time. Very sad to see. On the plus side, the Exchange has its own, large car park above. Charges apply.

Lots of great spots for shopping. Food, gifts, phones, eyebrow threading, WHSmith was my favourite. Security guards. A lift to the car park.

Very poor shopping experience - 2 discount stores 1 food store 4 phone shops 2 clothing stores 2 card shops and only about 5 other stores - this was one of two shopping malls in Rochdale with many streets to explore too now its a ghost town - a fulls shopping experience now reduced to an hour - this mall is waiting for investors to make it a great place again

It is clean and staffed with visible security, which is reassuring. However, like most shopping centres these days, it has empty stores and little variety. I would visit again. If people don't support these centres, then don't complain when they close down. People's jobs depend on our, the customers' support.

Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre offers a delightful shopping experience with its diverse range of stores and amenities. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the cleanliness of the center enhances the overall visit. The variety of retail options caters to different preferences, making it an enjoyable destination for shoppers. The staff is friendly and helpful, contributing to a positive overall impression. I recommend exploring the Rochdale Exchange for a satisfying and convenient shopping outing.

Need toilets that work, allow buggy through turnstile or disabled toilet access. Only toilet was in bus station. No good when you need asap. Cannot leave baby in buggy outside In Back alley.

Good place with small amount of shops. People were friendly but lots of businesses are closing so always check before you end up going there and seeing the desired business is locked. The food shops were good specially the street food.

Management here is poor they call ou a liar and make up stuff thinking they are in the rights to ask for evidence what happened to customers are always right?? Security guards think they are the police and are rude and bad mannered and say awful comments towards children and body shame! Especially Carl! Sort it out who hires these people!

Like it's neighbour, Oldham, this is another struggling shopping centre. Few people about on a pleasant day. Supermarkets and the Internet have done for these places. Some real imagination is needed to get people back in these places.

Absolutely appalling. 18 days now without a connection on my wife's phone. O2 have promised 4 times that a manager will contact us. No e of these contacts have been made. All we wanted was them to unlock my wife's phone Now we are having to go out and buy a new phone . O2 you will now lose all of our family contracts with you and I am making a claim on line through the small claims court. Also sending full details to BBC Watchdogphone Now we are having

Small enough to enjoy a quick visit but lacking in some major stores. Pleasant space in the mall. Great easy parking.

I use this carpark daily and to be fair i can always get a space, very roomy in the SUV section. The only thing i dislike is the paystation. It decides ot won't take my card or even more frustrating it'll take the payment twice, hence checking my banking app daily. It once took my payment but the screen to say I've paid just hung so cancelled it. Let's hope i don't get a silly letter trying to fine me!

Richdale has changed over the years. Although I feel changed for the better. I visited Boots and Vision express and the and factory managed to get all I needed . There are plenty of parking spaces. We also alled in Wetherspoons had something to eat , service quick and the Regal Moon was clean and tidy

Parked in multi storey got in lift to find there was no indication of which floor the shopping centre entrance was on. Expected ground but no signs at all. Will not be going back

The centre is really nice, lots of different stores around, and fun games for kids

Shopping centre is good but went in EE after checking website for a phone with buttons for my dad who can't do touchscreen. The 2 cheaper phones are only available online so the cheapest one in the shop is 70 quid but you have to buy a 20 quid top up with it. Went somewhere else and got one for 30

This is the first big shop I have used to do my shopping almost every fortnight. You can find everything you are looking for and enjoy sitting on the free benches provided gazing at Blue sky through the glazed roof or passing a wide number of lovely customers who always willing to have a quick chat with foreigners. It is an inclusive, diverse, and vibrant market.

Really good enjoyed my time there especially the cup corn definitely one to try. Maybe some more shops and it'd definitely be a 5

Used to be the place to go for most things in Rochdale however most shops are now disused and people favour going to the new Riverside complex. Better yet get a tram or train to Manchester and get everything and much more.

A long long time ago, this shopping centre had the likes of Carphone Warehouse, Boots, HMV, Superdrug and River Island among other shops. Today though, this shopping centre is a mere shadow of its former self. We have now been left with the likes of Iceland, Poundland, and... Wait? Are they like the only 2 noteworthy stores in here now? Ahh... What a sad reality...

We found the shopping centre to be clean and were very impressed by the security staff who not only looked smart and professional but were very polite and helpful to us with directions and assistance with parking machine. We found them to be courteous also. Thank you for making our visit enjoyable

Clean for the most part. Lots of closed units. Apparently Rochdale is still living in a bygone era where they charge people to use the public toilets.

Rochdale has seen better days, past it's time now. The town needs major revamp, even drake street, seems certainly like a ghost town! 🤨

  • 3/5 Sarfaraz H. 1 year ago on Google
There isn't a real mix or variety of shops, and it's literally 2 blocks opposite each other so one path you can walk up and down and back to your car. Plus no cash machines nearby, for that you have to walk to the old high street or to the banks and then back to the shops at Riverside. Less than average for a town centre. Only good thing is the cr park.

It's OK could be better with more shops to visit seems so quiet and empty

Diabolical excuse for a town centre. Hardly any shops, there's less than a handful of eateries. And the Weatsheaf is now closed. Its really run down. I understand there is a new shopping area further down which was clean and had more choice than the main centre and i understand there's a lot of development in the town happening. So maybe once complete this will improve, however for me, this won't be a place I visit in future.

Very nice addition to the town centre. Could do with a wider range of shops though

  • 3/5 Rooksanna M. 1 year ago on Google
Not much is left in here. There are pound shops, phone shops, card shops and the odd bits and bobs type shops. I like that the new job centre is now here. Looks cleaner from what I've seen. Most of the staff seem friendly enough

Rochdale exchange shopping centre is great for a little town which has a variety of shops and places to get a coffee or a spot of lunch. It's safe and kept clean. A town centre to be proud of 👍🏾👍🏾

Once I found out how to access(thank you to the taxi rank near the terminus) the car park by car. It is a card only or website pay site so is only available to those with specific bank accounts or wealthy enough to run private connectivity. From DDA compliance there is parking for blue badge cars and clean lifts. Staff are friendly when machines malfunction. Charges .... not published on entry but over 4 hours cost me £2.70

VERY RELAXED. After 50 years living in Rochdale, we moved away 2 years ago and this was our first visit back. Everywhere in the Exchange was smart, welcoming and looked fresh and well cared for. The lifts were SPARKLY clean and smelled clean too. Well done to management and to the cleaning staff, you have certainly raised the standard high. The folk serving in the shops seemed cheerier and more relaxed too. In fact Rochdale has been through some hard economic times but the town centre looks cleaner and more invigorated than we last remembered it. We are camping at Bury and have to say that sadly, Bury now looks very tired and shabby. Well done Rochdale. If you could now sort out a jolly market near the river and put some daytime coffee shops there too to be able to watch the world go by, with lively evening entertainment and restaurants/eating places along the esplanade, which is what everyone thought was in the original vision, then folk would come from miles around. In this area, there have always been too many nearby towns chasing the same shopping wallets ... Rochdale is more beautiful in the centre than Oldham, Bury, Middleton etc. Developed as an UPMARKET evening/nightime destination attraction around the river with visible security to deter drunken behaviour, free evening parking and serviced by the tram, it will attract more wallets and less scallywags! Some lights and some attractive small wildlife sculptures/scenarios down by the waters edge would look beautiful. Rochdale, you have a beautiful, quality looking town centre, now encourage your councilors to get brave and creative.

I haven’t really got a good or a bad review about this shopping centre. It’s a very quiet place which is my favourite type of places but there isn’t anything there for me to do. A lot of shops are closed but the cleaning staff are very active and it’s a pretty flawless and clean place. I can say it’s a great place for just a chill hotspot.

Quite a nice indoor shopping centre separate from the new shopping area which is not undercover.
