Excellent shopping and sightseeing place with churches, food places and shopping. Lot of paid parking available so it is convenient to travel by road. Good places to visit if you are travelling up North.

Durham has something for everyone, nice selection of shops, plenty cafés, restaurants and bars, nice indoor Market and lovely Riverside walks, not forgetting the Cathedral which takes pride of place. Parking available in town or use the park and ride, well worth a visit.

Beautiful Durham. ❤️ Great views along the river with cruises, river walks, boat hire. Historic Durham Cathedral, Durham Castle. The city has plenty great shops, bars, cafes, restaurants. Student vibe/Durham University. Traditional cobblestone streets and so much history. Such a wonderful place to visit. Friendly people.

I love these shops. Not many around now. I just love how friendly the staff are. As they are so rare the shop is definitely worth a visit. You can shop online, pick up and return to the store. Keep our High Street shops going. Not to just keep the store afloat but the staff jobs too.

Beautiful place, lovely and calm within such a busy city. A brilliant range of different shops, cafes and pubs around. Great history around and great photo opportunities. Very clean and well kept environment.

Plenty of shops Great idea regarding the umbrellas. Each on named after a loved one lost to cancer. Just £5 per umbrella. Two losses in our family.

It's a shopping centre! Good parking availability. Quite a few shops closed on boxing day

always an extremely clean and well kept shopping centre. couldn’t fault it. security usually patrolling and cleaners doing their rounds frequently. Car parks safe and reliable and cheap for parking so it’s everything in one. Shops have dipped in quality over the years. nice to see it’s still very full of life.

Outdoor pedestrian shopping plaza located in centre of Durham City. Several stores including TJ's and New Look were visited and large underground car park with, have to say tight bends to navigate...Worth an amble but city centre is constantly changing in retail aspects and not for the better IMO...

The revised redevelopment plans look interesting. Also pleased that the venue is going to take over and run the empty Pattiserie Valerie cafe.

Perfect for a quick takeaway handmade sandwich and hot drinks for a good deal. Friendly staff and a loyal customer base. Lots to choose from basic sandwich menu or speciality selection. Also some great homemade biscuits and cakes. A good place for the healthy option with lots of salad and sandwich options to choose from.

Good available parking although bays are really small. Struggle to get out of/into vehicle when other vehicles either side. Good to have public toilets available too

Yet more shop closures. Durham used to be a vibrant and fun place to shop. Now it seems like each time I go (which is becoming more and more rare), there are more empty units. Come on DCC, breathe some life into Durham city centre. Stop building new shops until you fill those already there!

Anachronistic architectually, compared to the rest of the city but imaginatively decorated. A good range of shops. A bit like a Jurassic Park of brands, I thought, as I passed by Patisserie Valerie and visited TJ Hughes. Basically, they've made the best of a bad hand. Parking cost was reasonable.

Looking very sad. I was in Durham when it opened and it was so exciting! Planning application in for changes to student accommodation... Hope it gets the ok. Retailers should then be supported to move into Silver Street.

I stopped in Durham for a day visit and use their car park as it was close to the historical town centre. Car park was fairly easy to find, if need to make sure you take the right lane, especially if you're not a local, and not used to the roads lahout. Ample parking at decent prices. Can't say much about the shops, but I strongly encourage you to visit the cathedral. It's beautiful and full of history.

Good car park for the city centre car parking jus need to make better signs outside of the carpark entrance exit especially when you leaving there should be a clear signs for the motorway. Otherwise car park is good with the decent price to park your car

It's so sad how few shops there are here. Expect to find tourist type stores with art and postcards, gifts, local foods, stationary, clothing and cafes. Some of the empty units hold an occasional pop up mini market and there are coloured umbrellas hanging above, which make all the difference.

Dire. Not that many decent shops just run of the mill high St. Couldn't even get a pair of blk round toe court shoes with about a 3 inch heel. Back to online shopping

Lovely place to visit. We were here just before Christmas, lots of good shops & restaurants. Lovely outdoor / indoor market not many places have them now in the town centres.

We just used the car park. Easy number plate recognition so no tickets to lose. Plenty of spaces and centrally located.

Fantastic shopping centre in the centre of Durham right on the riverside. Quite a large shopping centre, with a fantastic range of your normal cheap stores, some more upper class stores, and large amounts of food shops. We did most of our Christmas shopping here for the past few years, and have always found everything we needed in one place! Near by some of the food places are amazing like Chiquitos etc and local bars and a theatre. The place is kept very clean and staff in most of he stores have been very pleasant!

Central parking venue. Very busy on this day but still had spaces. No fuss easy payments. Would use again.

It's clean and tidy, but a better selection of shops would be good.

Durham Town Centre is looking fairly sad now... Most of the bigger shop names have moved out now leaving the town looking very tired and empty.. Still we go every year as Durham cathedral is still worth visiting

Looks fine but arrived on a really wet day.

A sad experience on a dull Saturday morning, very few people around, maybe it has become a place where local people only visit when they know what they want. There seemed to be few tourists, but then it was a miserable November morning. Too many empty stores, perhaps over-renting causing too many failures. There is also a lot of competition within walking distance where other retail arcades are drawing similar experiences.

Nice new shopping area with Aldi, Home Bargains, Food Warehouse (Iceland) , and a Costa Coffee

Fair selection of shops, car park convenient, if a little overpriced Only downside everything still closed at 5 even though it was a Saturday in December and Christmas festival day.

Terrible trying to park here. Shouldn't let you into the carpark if theres no spaces!!
