Such a strange shopping centre with a fake little old school shop facade in the centre. I always feel sorry for old shopping malls. They deserve some love. The public toilets are really nice and kept clean and tidy.

Love this place. Lots of shopping, great restaurants, Stacks has great crepes, Fredrick's has amazing ice cream and candy

Secondary Mall to West Quay but caters for customers with a more discerning eye for a bargain. Decent toy and fancy dress outfits on 2nd floor, plus Global Food Buffet catering for all types of palates. Old fashioned sweet shop with a vast stock choice, and Roman fashion label store at ground level. Worth a visit.

Used to be an excellent centre but the pandemic has reduced the number of stores considerably. Its a shame but not unlike many other cities. There are still some good cafes. Let's hope it recovers

Very huge shopping mall which almost has everything reacted to day to day living. The place is best filled with good people and many stores that welcomes people to buy or to server with the best what they can do to their customers. I loved to buy vegetables from the Marlands which is fresh and good quality with cheaper prices. The Marlands shopping center is located at the center portion of the city center of southampton and almost every bus route connects to this point right in front of Marlands. The stop is dedicated for Marlands shopping center which includes name as ASDA & MARLANDS stop or you can get of at civic center if you wish to walk into Marlands even faster if your were traveling g from airport, Portswood, eastleigh, Bitten park or portsmoth area direction. It has a dedicated parking service which is very huge and vast The marlands is one of the very fast moving shopping center and we can trust on their quality and hygenicity. The Marlands shopping center will always have a specific team to grab and dispose the unwanted materials and waste, very well managed by the supervisor. Each and every shop at the Marlands are bit affordable to buy any products for day to day purposes and durability of the products depends upon the useage Overall I'm totally satisfied with the Marlands Shopping Center experience.

Cool shopping centre, sad to see some shops go and close like the Disney shop though, it was my sheep's favourite one :(

Can't fault the staff in the Marlands, such a lovely community spirit in lots of the shops. Feel the place could do with some more investment for repairs and maintenance. Is a wonderful place to shop but feel the building needs some more love.

I had not visited Marlands for about a decade prior to this recent visit (2/3/22). Sadly it has clearly experienced a decline in business along with the rest of the High Street. It was clean, tidy and sadly rather too quiet. I saw at least three empty shops, a new pawn shop, and a fresh vegetable stall that I assume was a 'pop-up' venture as it was to one side of the main thoroughfare rather than a shop premise. Marlands is very dependent on the adjacent main shop (I recall Matalan). This large unit is currently unoccupied. I hope things get better because otherwise a visit is not justified unless the customer wishes to specifically visit a particular shop.

THE CAVE I go to the marlands for my favourite shop the cave. It really is a treasure trove . They have a beautiful selection of crystals which keeps me going back to the marlands .The staff are always lovely and the aura is welcoming and relaxing . I popped in recently and I understand that they are looking for new premises. I hope they get something very soon . I'll will definitely be following them to the new place.

Not a bad shopping place, but once again, every shop that was, seems to be closing down! Won't be long before the Marlands shopping centre is no more!

Awesome mall and can spend good time shopping all sort of brands. Love the ambience and vibes in the mall especially just before Christmas

I remember when I was a child we would skate in here and terrorise the security guards. Once my friend through a steak bake from the top floor onto a security guards heads. It was one of the best things that ever happened to that security guard at work. He was so happy he got a free pie and hair cut combo. Go on sean keep throwing pies.

Nice place for buying things you can’t find in big malls 👌🏼lots of independent stores and interesting small shops.

Awful place. Lady that served us (we think she's the owner) was so rude to us from the beginning, constantly looking as if we're bothering her with our presence. And when we wanted to returned the "pizza" (quotation intended) she said its already eaten (yes, we've eaten a piece to taste it, obvi), there it no way we can return it and that it's our fault that we ordered it- she really tried to defend this dry bread roll with tomato sauce.

When I first came to Southampton it was packed, now West Quay is open it's not so busy and less seating. The escalator has been out of action for ages.

  • 3/5 Toby P. 1 year ago on Google
It's an ok little shopping mall. More independent shops if you want a change from all the big brands you might find down at Westgate, but it's quite small, so the options are clearly limited.

Visited Costa coffee in the Marland's, good coffee, will probably go again some day. Centre clean and apparently good condition, but too many empty shops.

Great shopping area as it's been good for us as we are staying in an airport hotel, so good that then Primark H&M just someone get extra clothes with some lovely restaurants around the area.

Another shopping experience looking for goggles. Loads of shops, didn’t stay long but it seemed popular

A mixture of units, some really lovely individual shops. However there are lots of closed shops and cafes. It was very clean but the whole place needs some love and updating.

  • 4/5 Elaine 1 year ago on Google
Very clean and tidy. Not a huge variety of shops; 2 budget shops, 2 bridal shops, a couple of dress shops, a couple of shoe shops and a few coffee/eateries amongst others. However there are also quite a few empty shops. Add this to the lack of crowds this does give it an air of it being a bit depressing compared to the main shopping centre. But it needs to be visited at least once.

Lovely indoor shopping centre with a nice mix of large chain stores and specialist shops including a Lego Store, Men Kind and Lush.

So sad to see many of the shops closed down. But I'm glad Grape Tree still going strong. Always friendly and helpful staff going the extra mile to assist. 🙂

Definitely better than the Swan centre in Eastleigh, although I don't feel as safe as I used to in here, I'm a wheelchair user and highly unlikely to come in on my own anymore. Good choice of shops, and a few little stalls, most wheelchair friendly, but can be cramped in some. Wheelchair accessible toilets, which can be in need of a thoroughly good clean. It is a shame the large card shop has gone, it sold arts, crafts, gifts, household goods etc, it was a fabulous shop, with great staff, I miss it greatly. They have some great live music, it would be nice to have it in there more often and all day.

Some niche shops in here and it's usually quiet. Upstairs there is Shakeaway, Stakks and some other food places. A better option at times compared to how packed West Quay gets.

  • 3/5 Kazandra1 7 months ago on Google
Not much happening upstairs, and several units downstairs empty as well. I hope it doesn't go the same way as the Bargate shopping centre!

Fairly small shopping centre, not many units open.we had lunch at the global restaurant which was nice and also used the toilets in the shopping centre.

Another very useful shopping mall with parking, lifts, escalators, toilets etc.All under one weather proof roof. And all helping to keep everyone happy while they are busy shopping.I was particularly interested in the fashionable shirts and accessories. Which you sometimes have to travel to London for. But since September 1991 the Marland Shopping mall has changed all of that. Back in 1991 it was the largest shopping mall in Southampton and the first significant shopping mall in the city. However it has since been dwarfed by Westquay shopping mall in 2000. In the Marland Shopping mall there are about 60 different Stores,Cafés & Restaurants including; Costa Coffee, Frederick's Chocolates, F.Hinds,Cards Direct, American Candy, Glamour Forever,Moss Bros, People's Pride Southampton,Sea life play Centre,CEX, Savers,UK Shaolin Centre, Supercuts, Starbucks and Rock bottom Toy store. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday 8.30am-10.00pm Sunday 10.00am-10.00pm (each individual store may operate at different times within these hours) Although not every disability is visible Marland Shopping mall do a very good job of looking after a lot of disabilities with accessible parking, shopping and Radar operation toilets. Lifts, escalators and ramps. There is a 810 space multistorey carpark and Electric Charging points (6×type 2). The shopping mall also has wheelchairs and mobility hire services. Shop mobility service provides manual and electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters to people with a limited mobility. Enabling them to access the city centre and shop independently. Southampton City shopmobility is situated within the Westquay shopping Centre.

A very huge mall but not as busy as West Quay which is very relaxing. A good variety of places to shop and parking is quite cheap too! Would 100% recommend to anyone to visit

I just love the Marlands centre at this time of year as soon a as you step in the doors you feel that christmas spirit. I love the shops in here again some are quirky and some are the run of the mill shops you find in other centres the range of shops in here are all you need to finish your christmas shopping or maybe your just starting it's all under one roof, you can buy everything from party dresses to dressing up to toys, and even an asda store or maybe you want a different kind of shop they have a few shops like anime and an old fashioned sweet shop.

Building Needs improvment has potential in general. some places here are good such as, Dice and Dumplings, Great game store that runs lots of different card game events like MTG, Yugioh and I hear they will do lorcana, pokemon and one piece in the future, they always serve delicious dumplings. Hot Pod yoga is really nice, a very unique take on doing yoga, highly recommend. Sea life play center is good if you have kids, can be fun for them. There's a Fun axe throwing place too.

Charming but ultimately some what naff, retro maybe. CEX and Rockbottom Toys have interesting stock and the literal Cool Merchandise store is a new outlet which is quite self explanatory.

Brilliant diverse place to bring the family for a day out shopping-everything (nearly) under one roof. I'm not a fan of shopping centres but this one is great as it has 90%of shops I like. Visit soon I hopr

Very dead but very crowded. I found one very nice store but everywhere else felt dreary and lots of people here were like zombies. Some gems to be sure, but a very dull and sometimes I don't feel 100% safe.

Limited shops in here. You've got poundland, fancy dress, wedding dresses, card shops, clothes shop mainly aimed for teenagers I think and tie dye clothes. Leads out onto the high street or the other side leads to a big Asda shop.

  • 4/5 Kevin L. 2 years ago on Google
The Marlands Shopping Mall is a convenient cut through from Above Bar to Asda. The variety of shops are of no particular interest to me other that once a year to see what's there.

Just love the mocha they have. I visit quite frequently. It's an open space, good coffee, friendly staff.

Kids play area kept them quiet. Then the shops were quite good near an ASDA if you can't find it here.

  • 3/5 Nicholas D. 2 years ago on Google
Many of the shops are now closed, the ones that were "prime" lime Disney, Poundland and Whittards have left. It is still clean and maintained but looking tired, more of a passage between Asda and the high Street than a shopping centre. A real shame, this was a prime shopping venue 3-5yrs ago

  • 4/5 Maria B. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely little shopping centre wasent busy quite a few nice shops and cafe's definitely worth a vist especially if you want a relaxing walk around. I gave it 4 stars as afew shops were closed..shoe zone, peacocks.

Horrible place. Everything all over the place, and none seems to know where they are going. Always swimming against the tide. I do like all the food outlets on one floor.

  • 3/5 Robbie 2 years ago on Google
Most run down shopping mall I've been in for some time. It reminds me of the bargate before it closed. The council should consider a major revamp before it ends up becoming yet more student accommodation! You only have to visit Portsmouth, Basingstoke or even Reading to see how bad Southampton has become.

  • 5/5 Jade O. 2 years ago on Google
Great place for essentials, one of the lifts are always broken at least there's two 😂 All wheelchair accessible, toilets up on the 1st floor.

  • 3/5 Zeon X. 2 years ago on Google
Given a three star as the building appears to be tired and run down. Inside there is quite a few empty plots and compared to other outlets across UK, it's just average...

  • 4/5 Angela R. 2 years ago on Google
Nice shops. A shame that there are empty retail units in there. Needs some more well branded named shops or a good craft or toy shop in there. Favourite shop was Warren James jewellery shop. Nice staff and nice prices. Toilets are clean. Great short cut through to Asda.

I'm afraid its becoming another old Gem being drained by the titan West Quay, I loved going to Bargate when i was young and now its seem Marlands is becoming the same. Don't get me wrong the stores in here are amazing and i love going here too but I do hope this place doesn't follow it old friend.

What a great shopping experience, real community feel and all the shop holders seem to be local and care. This place is a real gem and hope the local council appreciate it's value and support it as retail is struggling a little after Covid and because of the internet. Long may it continue.

Small but convenient shopping centre, centrally located, nice to have some specialty shops among so many high street ones! Also some nice cafes and food court upstairs with many options to choose from - pancakes, noodle bar, smoothies and shakes, fish and chips...

  • 5/5 Vikkiee B. 2 years ago on Google
So many shops inside, I wasn't expecting it to be such a big shopping centre! Only downside was parking, anywhere you go you have to pay & I mean it cost us £9.80 for 3hours & 10mins. Would of been nice to have some cheap or free parking options when they know you are spending money in the shops anyway!

  • 4/5 Joanne R. 1 year ago on Google
A nice shopping centre, some interesting and different independent shops. Would like to visit again.

  • 5/5 James S. 1 year ago on Google
As shown in the photograph, to me, this is one of the nicest spots in Southampton to sit and have a coffee, especially if the weather is not what it should be outside on the High Street. Even now, which weren't there when I came to study in Southampton in 1996, there is also seating further along into the centre that you can sit at and have a coffee, etc. It's a very nice spot.

  • 4/5 Paul M. 1 year ago on Google
Nice little mall but fairly empty, some good local small businesses there, a savers, a cex and the Disney store has gone and is now the saints (FC) store There's a cool Mixed shop upstairs that sells lots of vintage tech
