Mostly deserted now. I think there is a hairdressers open but not much else. A shame really. There used to be a nice café but it's closed now.

Eldon Garden as a shopping destination is all but dead.Awaiting further, unlikely development, or demolition. Its only value is the attached multi storey car park and access to the adjacent Eldon Square shopping mall, which is well worth a visit.

This used to be a busy hub of a variety of eateries and shops, including Richard Sintons, my favourite jewellery store. Almost every place is now closed down and empty, giving the whole place and ghostly and sad aura. It leads to John Lewis and main Eldon Square shops, and used to be a pleasant thoroughfare. Now it's silent and awful.

I managed to spot Saigon Nails there. Seems to be still going strong. Other than that the shopping centre is practically deserted and serves as access to the attached car park. Such a shame when remembering what it used to look like in its heyday.

This tends to be a quieter flow of traffic as it’s a dead end except to those heading to St James Park on a match day! There is excellent parking nearby within the complex if a little hard for first timers so be vigilant with signs. I went to m and a from the bus depot end which is the food hall side and ventured upstairs. The checkout lady was fab suggesting I get a bigger bag as they are all the same price as she knew I needed to stick up on some m and s favourites! Really nice in what still are difficult circumstances.

This is the first time I have visited Eldon Square for a few years, I prefer The Metro Centre for the free parking, and there have been many changes. I really miss Hotter, Debenhams, and Monsoon shops. I enjoyed shopping in John Lewis, Charles Clinkards, M & S, and Clarks. Everyone who attended to me in those shops was really helpful and nice. However, Eldon Garden is a ghost town...shame! I wonder what is going to be done in this area? 🤔 And it doesn't look good for anyone outside of Newcastle visiting the area.

Don't no it looks like the entire place has closed down I think they should make a it a indoor green space with shops to match fill it with plants and make it look fancy it's a nice place but when there's nothing there and its empty somthing need to be done with it

Disgraceful parking charges, ripped off every time I visit, never again. Eldon garden is the worst, total scammers and crooks

Good place to shop for a wide variety of stuffs… From food to cloths… The bus station is just around the corner and The Metro is available too

I am so sad to see Eldon Garden now. It used to be vibrant with lots of shops. Arts Collective leaving is final straw I think. I only went back there for that.

If it was a dog you'd have shot it by now. Hardly worthy of the name shopping center as only one shop. They should give rent free for 18 months to get some small local businesses a chance.

Few shops at the bottom of eldon square right beside bus station. Few places to eat or to grab take away. Couple shops. Walk through St George's Square and you will get to a different part of eldon square, or it's a good short cut to the grainger Market but just go up escalator and you will get to main part of eldon square. Lots shops and if your hungry lots of nice places to grab bite to eat. Short walk from 3 main metro stations, haymaket, monument and St James. Lots of pubs and restaurants and more shops are close by and plenty of fast food outlets. You could even stay over as because lots of hotels are close by. You can even drive into town and park at the multi storey car parks. A good bus service runs into town and you will find 2 good bus station,1 beside M&S, near Hay Market and 1 at Eldon Gardens. Its clean and tidy with a few public toilets around and in Eldon square😊

Eldon Garden Shopping Shopping Centre is adjoined to Eldon Square Shopping Centre, both of which are just off the main traffic-free (fully-paved and with seating) outdoor shopping area, Northumberland Street. Eldon Garden Shopping Centre is more bijoux than Eldon Square and has an ambiance of its own. There are lots of little gift outlets and salons over two floors and a central eatery area where you can enjoy a break with a cuppa and a snack, with lots to choose from 😋 Maybe pop in when you visit Newcastle for gift shopping and a pamper ☺️👌🏽

This is the most confusing centre!loads of shops good shops too but a total maze of a place!we went in one entrance and ended up coming out on the opposite side of the busy road so confusing🤣 great shops and food places

Pleasant shopping experience undercover with total accessibility for disabled or power chairs. Even rent wheelchairs for taking an elderly relative round and some powered options too As range of shops go there is shop everything and lots of catering and loos too. The big shops like Fenwick and John Lewis are balanced with small specialist shops including claires. Only fault is the loss of shops and boarded up shop fronts even though taste fully done.

A wide range of different stores along with good restaurants. Clean inside and there is many different food options to visit. When you go inside there is also an escalator for access to Eldon Square where there is many different shops to visit when you are in Newcastle.

Parked at yhe back of Eldon Square and cut threw Eldon Gardens to use public toilets which are still open. Dismal to say the least. Nothing of interest. Most of the shops and cafe have closed. Remaining shops are pop up shops selling stock off.

Going to be back, to much to do and visit, went with family to shop and loved it. Never got to the grainger market or museum and Riverside so much to see and not enough time as we only went for a few hours not having been before. We had a lovely meal in a Mexican restaurant in the Grey centre in the square, lots of restaurants to choose from, we decided to try one we hadn't tasted food of before.

Sad reflection of the Eldon square That used to be .vast empty space where you enter from Eldon Gardens car park only place in existence is the excellent independent Artists display centre ..not helped by the extortionate car park pricing . Newcastle a great and proud city in my view is slowly dying from lack of investment ...only Fenwick and Granger market worth visiting .makes me sad to see this .because I'm very proud to belong here.

First of all , the picture of the Tesco isn't the Eldon Garden Tesco , its the one on Clayton Street . All SUPERMARKETS have different prices for the same items . I hardly ever shop at the Eldon Garden Tesco because its small and the variety of items for sale is a joke .

Absolutely dire... a shadow of its former self in the "boom" days. Empty/ vacant shops. There's nothing to draw you there... a sign of the times and the digital age.. Everyone will complain about how bad it is, then order their next go-to item from Amazon 🙄 😒

I drove to Eldon Square roof top car park from Longhorsley. I got out my disability scooter and it wouldn’t work. I drove across to Eldon Gardens Level 4 to see if I could save the day. It was 3.25pm. There were scooters there. They would not give me one because “we like them back in by 4.30pm” They didn’t ask me if I would be back at 4.30…they just said no. It is meant to be open til 5pm. This is an absolute disgrace and a total waste of petrol and time for me.

I'm not sure whats gone wrong for Eldon Gardens.. There's only a handful of stores open, many units empty or being used as charitable/social events spaces, and only the downstairs cafe open. The rest of the center looks abandoned. It used to be full, now even the stores near Eldon Square end are mostly abandoned. Hopefully they can find some more smaller tenants to fill spaces.

Very few shops sadly, massive potential as a shopping/ leasure location. Put a decent pub in there and the footfall will quadruple

  • 4/5 Judith C. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely and clean, not too much artificial lighting, just a shame about the number of empty units .
