Cascades Shopping Centre is a nice, clean, conveniently located place to shop. They have a lot of the nice name brand stores.

Amazing shopping 🛒 environment with plenty of stores. Although some of the shops closed during my last visit but the shopping centre 🏢 was still spacious and has some potentials for growth 💹.

Went to TK Maxx and also visited the juice bar there for a coffee. The juice bar is called BLEND and it's run by Michael. He is such a nice guy that he deserves your support. Why always support the large cafes and their rich owners? He serves great coffee, tea and ice-cream. The arcade mall is very clean and there are plenty of decent shops. I highly recommend the juice bar for its coffee. The owner has just started a new business and needs support.

This shopping centre wasn't very nice to visit. The outside entrance (on the same street as Superdrug and Primark) looked scruffy dirty and old. The inside wasn't much better with leaks and water stains everywhere and broken ceiling panels/missing panels on several spots. It looked neglected and uncared for. Some great shops in there which was a shame because the centre isn't very welcoming.

So many empty units and the cost of those that are full pushes up toe prices in the shops. Most if the goods shops have been pushed out including the last good fabric shop in Portsmouth. The new layout feels small and crowded. There are some great specialist shops but they often seem to struggle and they often end up closing. It's closeness to Commercial and transport links is great. It has a good amount of big shops but it's the kind of place you go to when you already know what you want to buy.

Not a bad place for window shopping and general shopping. I usually just for the public toilet. These are very clean. Unless you get a customer who doesn't care, will make it difficult for the cleaners, who are really good. My old profession was cleaning, and I know when it's cleaned right. But all in all, not quite full marks, but do well

The team in charge of the Christmas decor have really upped their game. It is nice to see that there are lots of active shops in the Cascades and plenty to see. A must-see if visiting Portsmouth!

The centre itself has seen better days, watermarked ceilings and loose wires. Lots of nice variety of shops but the place could do with a face-lift. It has a few beaches and well maintained toilets but the upper floor which you can access by elevator is a ghost town. Highly underused

The mall is nice. Good brands. But the structure of the mall is confusing and the biggest problem is that once you enter the mall you have no signals and you can't use internet. The wifi within the mall is also not stable.

Not a bad little centre, the high street is poor tho... had some great independent business which Is rare in centres..small American style sports shop selling caps and sportswear is spot on. The sports direct is great offering some flannels options aswell

Very nice shopping 🛍 centre with loads of shops & alternative. Spoon Buffet even offers free parking if you are patronising them by mentioning to the receptionist. Multistorey parking space & large parking space at the front

I haven't been to Commercial Road and Cascades in 20 years. I went on a Thursday and it was dead. The multi storey carpark was empty. Most of the shops were shut-in and out of Cascades. It was like a zombie apocalypse when even the zombies couldn't be bothered to go. Nobody had even bothered to put washing powder in the fountain. The sweet shop in Cascades was fantastic. A bit of old fashioned jars and new sweets with a lot of American. Nicely priced and the lady running it was friendly.

Nowhere near as good as it used to be. Quite a few shops have gone. The inside bit (cascades) is ok. Outside the place is a tip it's disgusting. Litter, food, gum everywhere all over the floor. Yuck!

We find the Cascades quite a dull shopping area. Some of the original shops now gone. Also some empty premises. A decent cut through route to get to the other end of Commercial Road.

  • 3/5 Gorgsey 3 months ago on Google • 26 reviews New
Not been for ages and was surprised at the amount of shops still open there, given the local press about the decline of commercial road. Some really good high street stalwarts in there, with a good mix of independents in some of the smaller units. Only three stars though as in this day and age you should really have the ability to get a mobile phone signal in the building

A good variety of shops, often changing as well as some of the bigger named shops. Clean and spacious, with the added extra of a few pop up stalls which also change occasionally.

It is a great place to visit with all the shops such as primark, h&m,sports direct etc. I love to shop there. Also, it has food court. So, you can explore different varieties of food.

  • 3/5 MrAtaylor84 1 year ago on Google
The Cascades has gone down in my estimations the last few years, there used to be a great selection of shops, but in th3 last few years the number of empty shops has increased and there seems to be a lot of the same shops selling similar items to each other. The kids like the empty shop that has the display of toys from Beaulieu in the window (I must admit looking at some of the items brings back memories of my younger days!)

  • 4/5 Simon W. 1 year ago on Google
Nice place, clean and spacious. Pity they rook away the food court, it gave the place a stunning centre piece that left an impression. I guess it wasn't a good return on their investment.

  • 3/5 Evelyn B. 1 year ago on Google
Nice little shopping area, visit it often as its my hometown. Only problem is that in the present climate there are so many empty units or pop up shops that dont stay that it makes shopping there alot less enjoyable than it used to be. There are shops like: Primark Game Newlook Squiggle Next Tkmax SportsDirect Lush All in all I like it but theres not as much selection anymore, hence the 3 stars.

  • 4/5 Patience S. 1 year ago on Google
Large shopping centre not too far from the ferry. variety of shops with food available outside. Did have a run in with a Christian recruiter type, and this has occurred before, however this is the risk of going out in the city. overall a good place to shop.

I used to live in Portmouth and at one time this center was a hub of the town. So many well known shops are nolonger. This decision I feel has taken the life out of this place . Maybe this is our own fault as so many people shop on line.

Great selection of shops, masks available to buy, good social distancing

  • 4/5 Emmy T. 1 year ago on Google
You can tell they are doing their best considering the state of the high streets in the country. It is clean and the toilets are lovely (never thought i would say that). I always see security walking around so it’s safe. A good variety of shops and they have lovely events during the holidays. Very accessible and inclusive.

Not a lot here and quite tired looking... A couple of the bigger chains have gone and it feels a little empty... Tk Maxx is inside and Next... A few independents but not many... The rest are accessible from outside of the centre

Have not been here since the pandemic, could not believe how run down the whole area is. Not a good impression for anyone visiting Portsmouth 50% of the units are empty and some of the outside shops appear derelict some shops you have to knock the door to be let in, drunks and druggies make it feel unsafe. Won't be back anytime soon.

Depending on the day of the week it's pretty quiet here a good selection of shops mainly clothes stores I went to the American sweet shop. There are a few little cafes to have something to eat at.

  • 3/5 Lottie L. 5 months ago on Google
Overall, the cascades is usually empty and most shops you walk past are closed. It comes off commercial road, which from personal experience is "shady". It looks nothing like the picture. If you need to, go but I would never consciously choose the cascades for an afternoon promenade or Christmas shopping.

  • 5/5 Lei H. 5 months ago on Google
This shopping centre has a nice amount of shops and some places to eat or have coffee. The shopping mall is clean and has lots of space to walk in. It’s wheelchair accessible. I usually come here to shop in Lush for bathbombs, Primark for some essentials and TKmax for a good price on some items.

  • 5/5 Jacky W. 5 months ago on Google
Love cascades - had a very successful Christmas shopping trip only to come out to the carpark and neither of the pay machines are working ! We had to down load the app which wouldn't work ! It took us another 45 minutes to get it on my phone for it not to work! Honestly we left without paying- so are we likely to get a fine ? There were approximately 20 other people standing around the pay machine trying to pay ! The whole thing was a complete fiasco! I also tried to call NCP only to find I was 5th in the queue! Could you please sort out the parking! Everything is online these days - what about those who can't do it likely 87 year old mum or those who don't have a mobile! Not everyone has a mobile phone !! The experience was ruined by the total frustration of not being able to just pay !

Very good inside shopping mall with a very large amount of variety of stores, I've been to quite a lot of malls and this has got to very one of the best so far. Portsmouth is a great place and the people of Portsmouth are fantastic!

  • 5/5 Robert J. 5 months ago on Google
Not over impressed with Cascades, just your ordinary run of the mill shopping centre. But I was impressed by The Royal Standard pub just outside, a proper boozer, not ruined by pub developers, a great pub with a brilliant atmosphere and friendly locals. Full of naval memorabilia truly a place to visit time and time again.

  • 3/5 Mimi G. 8 months ago on Google
Parking is too expensive. The entrance to cascades is not inviting and so plain. So many stores have closed shops. Hope that with wendy's opening,it will come alive as it was before.

Rubbish Shopping Centre. Boring shops (the usual boring ones), run down place, water dripping everywhere! (damn lots of water buckets everywhere, we are like doing a cross country race while shopping there). Finally spotted a nice little cafe with really good rating on Google but was kicked out by the rude security staff of the shopping centre saying they have to close! Shopping centre closes at 5? That’s why Portsmouth is named a dying city. I thought it’s close to ferry / cruise terminal and it would be a better city to visit as people would normally work harder and be more energetic. Holiday ruined by that security staff and the nasty Shopping Centre. If they intend to close at 5 sharp, they should have stopped people entering at 4. If someone enters before they stop people from entering, they should be given reasonable time to finish their shopping - that’s SERVICE! The only star is to the staff of that little cafe. Thanks for your food and your wonderful service.

We attended Santa today with my little boy who is two at first he was unsure, but Santa allowed him a few minutes to then come back in and the second time my little one loved it, amazing little grotto for tiny feet, very good price and such a memory x

  • 3/5 Neil S. 8 months ago on Google
It probably has everything you need here but has the feel of a dying town centre. Unfortunately, there is also an unsafe atmosphere with youths milling around in large groups

  • 2/5 Ray Tilburey W. 9 months ago on Google
Not been there for a long time. Uninspiring don't bother go to west key Southampton which has much more to offer. The original plan to extend where the car park is was never started and was a missed opportunity.

  • 2/5 Eddie R. 8 months ago on Google
Very poor. Like many shopping centres designed in the 70s / 80s it looks like it's moving into decline. Not helped by the ridiculous parking charges! Empty shops everywhere.

  • 5/5 Patrick S. 11 months ago on Google
A modern shopping development, with enough choices of outlets, that meets the needs of thousands. It has enough history around it to keep one occupied for hours. Good fur tha family, with all mod cons. Very good travell arrangements rail, bus and ferries.

  • 4/5 Dan D. 1 year ago on Google
Although a little rough around the edges, Cascades has everything required inside. It's larger than expected, which is good. However, it is a little complex to navigate, but once you've been around a couple of times, it obviously becomes easier. Big car Park attached to the centre, with direct access to the highstreet, and it is worth a visit for window shopping and browsing as well as buying

  • 4/5 Joan H. 9 months ago on Google
Good selection of shops, Thursday is market day with a few stalls. Only rated 4 ⭐ because of the car parking prices £6 for 2 hours.

  • 3/5 Rebecca T. 9 months ago on Google

  • 3/5 Michael O. 9 months ago on Google
Easy to park the car in the dry... Take the lift down to a selection of Great shops... Also access to Commercial Road for even more excllent outlets... So why only 3 stars... As a place it facilitates the business that trade there, nothing more...

  • 5/5 Sonia F. 1 year ago on Google
Has some good shops but unfortunately these are getting less and less. Thank goodness for Primark, Lush, Next and H and M. A few more individual shops like a cafe and a nail bar. All accessible from the main carparks by lift so perfect in bad weather.

Cascade as a shopping center is a lovely place for shopping however outside carpark is a trap. Just been fined £100 for 11min 😡. Unfortunately there was no empty space, done two rounds with no success and decided to find a space somewhere else. Camera has recorded my reg on entrance and polite letter explain how I have breached car park terms of conditions. It's been lovely to do shopping there but unfortunately not planning to come back any time soon. 😔

Quite a few empty shops these days, but the shops that are there are good, plenty of choice, COVID19 has been thought about but other customers don't particularly follow the directions. Needs investment, new shops, decent restaurants and entertainment to really make a destructive that's attracts people in.

Nice local Cascades Shopping Centre, with huge car parking and well served by a number of bus lines. Coffee shops, restaurants are readily available and toy store

  • 4/5 Alistair K. 2 years ago on Google
One of the cheapest places to buy fuel locally with 12 pumps including self serve and a kiosk that stocks all the essentials. Waiting times are generally reasonable. There's also a car wash and an air pump for tyres. This is not a 24 hour Petrol Station. They are able to provide assistance at pump for disabled customers who must use the app as they can't do it on demand.

Great place that isn't yet run down like other town centres, parking is usually good but gets very busy and can work out expensive, the parking was very handy during lockdown as we live close by and no parking is close by but prices have shot up and now it is very busy aswell, shame about some of the idiots who can't drive and one who scraped my car when speeding through the multistorey parking area probably a young racer or something, we saw them speeding out a wee came up, but the security is great and plenty to do in the shopping centre, just be careful leaving your car anywhere around during the day.

A bit run I can't lie. Been here shopping for over 10 years and recently it has been declining fast. Water stains, missing panels, paint falling off, water damaged walls from the constant leaks. A recent visit (22nd Feb 2024), the main entrance AC or something went from off to 100% max power super fast, not only was it LOUD, could be distinctly heard from Sports direct, it startled me and many people leaving via the main entrance. Management there should refurbish the place, maybe close it down for a couple of weeks to fix the damages. At this rate, it will become an eye sore and will most definitely be replaced by gunwharf if it's already not.

I go there often as I use Tesco's a lot. Only a couple of good clothes shops, Next and River Island. Next is small compared to Havant and Whitely so it's not a good place to clothes shop. Wish we still has M&S and a few other good shops. Heading more to West Quay more because of the great variety of shops abd places to eat and a nicer atmosphere.
