Not a bad selection of shops, you can always get something if needed. Plenty of parking with some down the end of Solomond rd near the Brook pumping station.

Pretty dodgy atmosphere, also it's fairly empty. Wouldn't recommend, just get the 700 to Bluewater for a much better experience

I love this shopping centre it's all on one level and such a good variety of shops. Bright and airy. Parking is free and so easy to get to and masses of spaces inside and out. Quite a few lovely restaurants and eating places inside and outside. Petrol station ⛽ also. What more could you need.

The Pentagon needs a major rethink on the services it delivers to its Customers. Empty shops are never a good look. A GRIM place to shop 😟.

A small shopping centre in the high-street. Has basic shops like boots, Super-drugs, party shop, coffee shops etc. They open 9 to 6pm. Not sure if there is parking I came by train. They have bowling’s at the top floor.

My visit to Pentagon Shopping Center was, to put it mildly, a rather underwhelming experience. At first, I approached the place with some anticipation, hoping to find a variety of shops and entertainment options. However, as I explored the different levels, my amusement began to dwindle, and disappointment crept in. Starting on the ground floor, which was the only area that seemed to have any signs of life, I encountered a few shops and eateries. It was, at least, a passable shopping experience, with a handful of familiar brands to peruse. But my optimism quickly faded as I ventured to the upper levels. The first floor presented a stark contrast to the ground floor. Instead of a bustling shopping atmosphere, I found a noticeable emptiness and a lack of variety. Many store spaces appeared vacant or were occupied by shops with limited appeal. The once vibrant corridors now felt like desolate hallways, leaving me with a sense of disappointment. As I continued my exploration, the slowly declining level of amusement became more evident. The absence of any noteworthy entertainment options or engaging activities left me wondering if Pentagon Shopping Center had lost its charm over the years. It felt like a place that had not kept up with the changing demands of modern shoppers. In the end, my visit left me with a sense of regret. While the ground floor may have some redeeming qualities, the rest of the shopping center left much to be desired. It's a place where the promise of an enjoyable shopping experience gradually fades away, leaving you with the feeling that there are better options elsewhere.

Terrible shopping centre, don’t waste your time or money visiting. It’s also situated in one of the most depressing high streets I’ve ever seen. Let’s hope the local council does a decent job of the ongoing improvements to general area. Perhaps in a few years I might change my mind.

It's an okay centre but is looking old and tired. The 1st floor was desolate with only about 3 units trading. Reasonable amount of choice

Never enough seats for folk in this building. What is there is unstead/old/wooden. And you still have to pay for the loos which is unheard of anywhere else. Not many folk carry change these days so it's wrong on another level. The High Street is dying so these things need addressing to encourage folks to stay in Chatham shopping

An average shopping centre. There are 90 odd shops, cafes and stalls. My favourite shop is Wilko, a great place to get things I want. The one thing that really irritates me about the Pentagon Shopping Centre is that you have to pay to use the toilet.

Lots of different shops in here from boots, Wilko's, EE mobile shop, subway, Sainsbury's and many more?! I think there's bowling here to!! The bus depot is right opposite the side entrance. At the front entrance you have a really big Primark shop!! There's a few cafes!!

Not a fan, dated building, floods when it's high tide, I don't think it's had anything updated in years, crowded in places and dead in others due to the dated layout.

Once upon a time the pentagon was a great social shopping centre but sadly now it's deteriorated. The shops are pretty standard High street shops nothing majorly interesting and nothing to make you want to rush there . The toilets are how can I say "pretty smelly" for want of a nicer term . They are dark and dingy and the smell wafts into the shopping centre side entrance which is far from welcoming . The only reason I visit now is for Wilko and D&A toys which has always been a firm favourite shop in Chatham . Besides the toilet the shopping centre is clean ,with lifts available .Not sure what can really be done to update the centre as sadly the area will probably always bring it down .

Gets worse every visit... don't waste your time. £1.70 to park for 40 mins just makes you more frustrated when most of the units are closed up.

A very good shopping centre which has most of the things that you might need. It leads directly onto Chatham High Street where there are a lot more retail outlets. There is a decent sized Sainsburys supermarket and the parking charges are very reasonable. A good place to shop!

It's tired and dated and I'd say struggling, there's a good selection of shops still but it is obvious there's a large number of empty units. I've never really felt safe here and keep my family close by and hand on wallet and phone, on our last visit there were a couple of guys with woolly hats and dark face covering walking about, looked deeply suspicious and just added to the unsafe feeling of the place

I love this mall! The foot traffic directions make it a safer place to shop. The shops are doing their best to keep open and shop attendants are lovely. Generally you can find what you need in here or within a short walking distance outside it.

May look big on the outside but you won't get lost with a vaiety of treats; from food raw & cooked, clothing Nd pharmaceuticals. Expected more from individual stores but the few hours here was enjoyed.

A special breed of human visits here. There are a lot of empty units on the upper floor. Car park in dingy. The whole placed is dated. Any film producers looking for a retro film set, this is your place! On the positive, there's a good range of usual high street shops and a few independent ones. the shopping centre itself is clean and there's plenty of security walking around..And the people watching opportunity is fantastic.

Car park stairwells are gross.... and a tripping hazzard for children... do they ever get cleaned? Whole place smells of urine. So unhygienic. Shops are very disappointing will not be visiting again and certainly will not recommend.

I like this place! Many shops to explore. You even don't notice how the time passes by while looking for the items. I like the place and how well maintained it is for such a busy place. That's why 5 stars.

The Pentagon shopping center at Chatham is an all encompassing mall with all kind of stores with varying goods and prices. The shopping center remains always clean with kind people ready to assist. We bought alot of stuffs from different shops. The memory was awesome!

Now, what you have got to remember about this place is that there is a car park and the confusion of mixing you the car parks can cost you money.. The carpark is central to town and shopping so they you can not have it all. The ghost of its grandger is haunting. I can imagine all of the grand chain stores living there once not so long ago. The only store that is great is Sainburys. The corpse of Wilkos is still there. The furniture heart foundation is there too. The rest are the dreams. Small independents shops that want to keep their shopping centre going. Which is cool and brave, very brave. The toilets are easy to find and there are seats for those who can not walk far. The job center is across the road So there is an air of desperation and poverty. I would not go there after dark if I was a woman . This shopping centre is ticking through the hard time Chatham is going through. So as long it has life good thing can grow from there unlike Gravesend. At Christmas there was not much cheer in the shopping center which was sad.The saving grace it the potential it can hold for the future.

Some shops are decent. I feel since the bus station was moved outside by the river, the shopping centre has gone downhill massively. I avoid Chatham in terms of shopping as there is no longer anything to do. I usually go to Maidstone or Bluewater. All the centre needs is some proper investment to get it back to how it used to be

Decent shopping centre. Most units are filled. Nice variety of shops in there plus the foot court and bowling. Security around for assistance should it be needed. A good edition to the commercial area of Chatham.

A decent shopping center, however it is in a horrible area and looks horrible from the outside, a little better inside. There are some ok shops but in general it isn't great. I'd recommend to go to bluewater or ashford shopping center instead.

I can remember when the Pentagon had great selection of shop's but now there only Wilko and of course Sainsbury's otherwise looks very tried need massive face lift and as for Smyths no loyalty to D & A Toys who have been there since the Pentagon opening.

Decent shops if you're not looking for anything specific, otherwise Bluewater via the 700 bus would be a better option. The ground floor is usually fairly busy meanwhile the second floor is always empty and many shops are vacant. Everything feels outdated in this shopping centre. To the appearance, to the layout - there needs to be a modern refurbishment. The unused multistorey level from The Brooke road at the side of the centre could be converted into a extended second floor level, which includes more shops and a public space. The car park is also very confusing.

Not a bad trip to the Pentagon today. It can be a mixed bag as can Chatham in general. Still not enough variety of shops and when Wilko goes it will be a big blow.

Pentagon is always clean, and there is lots of parking available. Shops there are okay, and are either regular shops or speciality shops. Being inside the Pentagon shopping centre has a welcoming atmosphere.

It's a shopping centre that is more than adequate, but suffers from the chronic strain of a post covid world. Closing shops, underwhelming staff and a parking situation that is confusing at worst and infuriating at best.

  • 3/5 wayne h. 3 months ago on Google New
Is and always has been a white elephant. Loads of empty units and a poor selection of shops. The eyesore that is the attached car park and the former bus station and the tower block have spoilt the whole appearance of a once great shopping area with character and choice. I'm afraid Chatham is a den of iniquity now and I only visit the town if it's essential.

Pentagon Shopping Centre along with adjacent high Street is good place to shop around, car park is decent, most of the time found clean,so staffs are very vigilant considering busy and messy locals! Securities are noticeable, free toilet facilities(which is used to be paid one). The first floor looks completely dead apart from the Toy shop,Management need to make it happen offering lucrative offers to the business to venture here 😀

It was wet and early it was just about open, not very busy, as people were just getting in to work and opening shop. Apart from that it isn't too bad. Missing a lot of decent shops.

Any traffic is generally inside the stores. The gangways are generally free flowing. Getting in and out of the shopping centre without stopping is a regular event.

It was nice to be out about,I had gone to the pentagon shopping centre,to get a few items. Plenty of people about, not too crowded, bit anxious, being as of the COVID. But still enjoying the experience of getting about. Just going about and wear my mask if and when I need to.

  • 3/5 Battered B. 2 years ago on Google
A selection of shops that cater to the demographic poorly and bring nothing interesting to the spaces, parking lot spaces fine but always loitered in by Chatham yobs, stairwells reak of urine and waste. Mall is dark and dingey. Not really for anything other than bowling, cheap tosh shops, and some food

  • 4/5 Fab F. 2 years ago on Google
Good location in the town, surrounded with many small parking spot with fair parking fees. The shopping center itself is quite big with a commercial street just juxtaposed to it. Family friendly area despite it rough appearance.

  • 2/5 Richard S. 1 year ago on Google
Shopping centre is abysmal. Feels sad and tired and like a shopping centre you might see on This is England. Toilet attendant rude, people using food bank as a bin. Really poor considering this is theoretically the main shopping centre for over 250,000 people. The contrast to shopping centres in similar sized towns such as Reading is incredible.

We went to the Pentagon centre today, as we really look forward to going every Month to THE MEDWAY VINTAGE TOY FAIRS. They are usually in the empty unit near Sainsburys and Wilko. Unfortunatly we found out today that the Toy fairs will no longer be taking place. This is a real disapointment as they are somthing fun and enjoyable to attend. We have been going to them since they started a few years ago even before when they were up at the Medway lesure centre when they were called the Film and screen festivals. F.A.O. anyone within the Pentagon centre or within Medway Council please can you do something about arranging for the Toy fairs to start up again. We would be extremly greatful. The Pentagon shops will also benefit from these events aswell, as it helps to increase the number of people within the Shopping centre please, please, please can someone get this Amazing monthly event back up and running again, many thanks Colin ps ( BRING BACK THE MEDWAY VINTAGE TOY FAIRS )

Disappointed as too many of the same shops. Good to see Boots , an asset to any Shopping Mall. A lot of empty spaces upstairs but Jesse's Cafe hidden away is definately worth a visit, not as expensive as the ones downstairs but just as good!

What can be said about this place it is at least half empty, some shops have been relocated downstairs, be reds a new injection of shops but it won't get it, not now the council hi as its hands on it, just look at the state of the footpath that was done from the train station down to the waterfront bus station, it is full of black patches of oil or bitumen that was left by the contractors who did the laying,it cost far more than it should have and it is still not finished.

Pentagon has many shops, where you can buy food, presents, there is Boots, barbers, poundland, little fresh fruit and vegetable market. There is bowling and many more stores (mobile phone stores, jewellery etc.) Many cafes with tasty snacks 😉

Haven't been to Pentagon for years. Still quite a few shops there. Got there late afternoon, so didnt go all round. Shout out to man working in Muffin cafe as he stayed open so we could finish our coffees and toasted sarnie. Plan to go back and have a good mooch.

It's a good shopping mall of Chatham with lot of parking availability.. lot of small and big shops are available here.. boots and wilko available in the ground floor all the shops are wheelchair accessible good shopping center.. but they will close very early...

I feel this shopping centre needs a re-vamp I know a lot of stores are closing up but it needs a re think on how to attract the good shops maybe the rent also needs a brighten up . I like Hempstead Valley light airy got good shops it's a pleasant to go shopping there. Also the car park at the pentagon is a real let down its a dingy horrible car park stuck in a time capsule that needs a re vamp .
