One of the shopping centers, located at the heart of Dundee. Not a busy one, but the centre hosts some of the popular super shops like Iceland, Poundland, Home Bargain, and BM Bargain. Not many food restaurants are there. There is a Gym on the third floor along with some charity shops as well.

Attention! The parking attendant decided to close the parking today (Saturday) at 20:00 and not at 20:30 as posted on the information poster! Got to the parking at 20:20, and it was already closed! Call on the intercom, and was told by this rude person that the parking was close… and he hanged up. I continued calling, the same person answered, screaming “I have closed!” I called again, told him, let me get my car out or I will call the police. After 5 minutes a sweet lady (cleaner) came and opened the door and I was able to get my car out. Thanks to this lovely lady who saved my evening… To the parking management, you can’t just close 30 minutes before the announced time!

Such a good mall near the center of the city with a big library and a lot of shops. There prices are not so high but I wish they were a bit cheaper. A good place with a lot of fast food (Burger King, subway...) A nice place to hang with friends for a quick meal.

Stopped in when passing. Centre is looking a little tired but was clean. A selection of stores inside and near to city centre. What was not good was the need to pay 20p each to access toilets. With a young child this is poor. Worse the turnstile only took cash; almost everything is cashless these days certainly don't carry 20p pieces. Change machine outside only took coins and no centre staff visible to assist so had to leave....

Good shopping centre, the downside is that there are no seats for the elderly and disabled? Even the Overgate and Keiller centre have seats, so people can sit and have a rest. So come on Wellgate management, how about installing some seats.

It's seen better days and there seems to be very few shops and business actually open in that place. The only place that's worth going to is the new JD Gyms that they just opened there. The reason for the low score is down to their security staff - really unhelpful especially when it comes to the parking if you're a gym member.

Paid toilets, no card payment accepted. Parking lot bit cramped. Lack of signage, after the mall closes you need to find the gym entrance to access your vehicle. Shops aren't bad, good deals. Not sure when the food courts open / close.

This mall is quite big, but it's the other mall in the city, it's got a lot of parking (if you survive the round roller coaster ride up and down the parking in your car i.e. ) but this is again one of the places in the city that's dying a slow and gradual death. It seems like it used to be an amazing mall, but sad to see something so big going down. It's quite a sad feeling as soon as anyone enters, there are no big brands here only a pound stretcher and some old fossils of furniture brands. I really hope someone can revive this mall to its former glory.

The Wellgate is like an elderly relative with dementia that's progressively getting worse... There are moments when how vibrant and full of retail shops the building was but now it's just about an empty shell with just the echoes of the past to keep it company.

The Wellgate is an iconic part of Dundee, but it needs some love and care. There are leaks in the ceiling and the empty TJ Hughes lot has been vacant for years. Lots of great social benefit causes here though, like a tool library and a community greenhouse. More of those are always welcome!

Great library for kids and adults. Quiet, spacious, big tables; friendly, helpful staff, varied selection of books, cool displays. Communuty wellbeing space on top floor of centre, charity shop, Heart Foundation furniture, and a gym. The Works, Poundland, Home Bargains, Iceland.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Once the centre of Dundee shopping, now the centre for charity shops clinging on by its finger nails. There could be a cinema in there with nice restaurants, even a centre for pods, but just allowing it to fail is a shame. BTW Stop allowing the food delivery people parking in the disabled spots while waiting for their orders, that's not what the spots she for and all without a blue badge

Shopping centre looking a little tired with a proportion of outlets empty or closed. This place desperately needs a revamp

Going downhill rapidly If it wasn"t for the discount stores and iceland, there would be nothing All the good stores left as there was meant to be a cinema on the top floor, but it never materialised Oh bring back the heyday of the "in" shops

Hardly any shops looks empty nothing inviting at all. Only place to eat is burger king. Looks like its getting ready to be demolished very disappointing shopping centre

A really great centre if you are looking for those fabulous bargains. Oh so many great shops including the library and so much more and right across from the bus stop, not too far to carry all your bargain buys.

You're charged 20p to go to the toilet... The food court is quiet, with only a Burger King left but it's a nice place to rest and there are sockets in the food court in case you need them. I usually buy my lunch from Poundland/Home Bargains and eat it there :)

This shopping centre is a husk of what it used to be. It is full of bargain shops and overall has a very run down, cheap atmosphere to it. Really unfortunate to see how it's gone downhill.

  • 2/5 Michael T. 10 months ago on Google
Not as good as it used to be it's gone very quiet with just a few shops remaining. The only good thing about it is the car park.

  • 3/5 Christie 1 year ago on Google
OK and spacious shopping centre, but nothing too exciting. Has a conveniently placed car park good for when visiting the city centre. The British Heart Foundation shop here is quite good with a lot to buy, however not much else caught my eye. There is a charge to use the toilets in the Wellgate centre - you should never have to pay for basic human facilities. Hold your wee and let it out in the Overgate centre toilets for free!

Pointless it even being here, waste of space with corporate shops that are better elsewhere. Nothing local or special to Dundee just B&M, home bargains and Iceland. Dead and miserable shopping centre where you still have to pay to use the loo. The only reason I go into the Wellgate now is to get to the bus stops at the other side. Needs something done with it because it's just depressing now.

Not overly busy with some good shops over 3 levels , food, health stores perfumes, and one art supplies store on ground floor with lifts for disabled access

Wellgate Centre is a shadow of its former self. A lot of empty units with the Central Library and a Gym on the top floor. My visit was to the Library. The lack of customer footfall and empty units in a once thriving centre is sad to see.

A lot of changes here, I was sorry to see J T Hughes close. I go down every Saturday, the three I visit are Home Bargains, Poundland and Iceland there's still a bargain to be had, worth a visit.

Only giving it 5 stars coz it has home bargains in it and band m and Poundland the rest apart from toyshop and savers is practically shut down home bargains is like drag me out here before I blow all my pay coz it has such so many good stuff cheap as can be....it has lost its life feel from WEN I used to skip school and go thru it..it used to hv a beautiful fountain to throw coins in and the clock used to chime and was much more populated than it is now...there used to be much more shops like each floor felt like it had 12 shops on it but now it has a charity shop x2 a gym that's not really part of the wellgate Iceland savers superdrug has closed down and moved into savers sand u hv the entertainment shop toys stationary...it is like a former shadow of itself....feels empty it still has a lovely library upstairs but like I said the toy shop bandm savers with superdrug moved in there Iceland Poundland I think it has a subway not sure and charity shops x2 at top floor but it's not the same wellgate I remember full of life and always populated but the small amount of shops it does has are good.... just lost that magic feel WEN I used to skip school and throw coins in fountain....but it's still 5 stars to me home bargains and Poundland are awesome enough to make it a five star rating altho Poundland things are now 1.25 1.75 ???????🙄so I don't understand why it's still called poundland

Well I like the central library but so sad to see so many empty shops. Wish they could revitalise this place but doesn't seem to be coming soon. This end of Dundee High Street could use a nice cinema or cafe or John Lewis or something that attracts more customers

This shopping centre has a comfortable library, a gym and Cafe. Also you can buy groceries here for your households. It has 2 entries and exits. You can enter directly into the library by using its own special entry which opens on Victoria road side.

The Wellgate Centre is very much in need of an update. There's a B&M, Poundland, and Iceland, and not much else. B&M has some great deals, and I love browsing in there. Iceland can be good for filling up the freezer. The Central Library is situated on the upper level. There used to be lots of prominent retailers in the centre but it's very run down and depressing.

Interesting shopping centre with several community projects, charity shops and retail outlets.

There are still too many empty shops in the centre giving it an air of an uncaring owner. They have some cheap Xmas lights up which I hope means they have just starred their Xmas decoration and not that it's all that will appear. Thus used to be one of the most beautifully decorated of our centres in Dundee at Xmas. The owners need to look at pictures of the way it used to be and do better. Only then will the people of Dundee think the wellgate is worth visiting again.

A few empty shops but the shops there are great. Normal home bargains and b&m, but also Pavers, a great shop for footwear. Good quality at great prices.

I want it to keep going!¡!! It serves so many in our community; From the charity shops, voluntary services, and essential food stores (yes, Iceland is essential to many!) It provides an important and accessible space for people who would otherwise struggle to get out the house. Even the half dead food court has a place. It's quiet and undemanding, unlike many fast food services in the area.

Narrow, endless circular route up to parking levels. Price for long stay reasonable. Nightmare trying to find way in after 6pm. Wanted to get into centre after shops shut to use parking tix machines, and ended up walking the same route as vehicles - no obvious signs saying how to enter or what level you are on in the staircases. Locals probably used to it but as visitors we hadnt a clue best way in.

Feel like empty. And you have to pay to go toilet. But, I like Iceland supermarket, always have some good deals And there is a burger King inside.

Absolute dump. Full of charity shops and bed shops. The place needs bulldozed. One lift in a place that big, no decent cafe, escalators and doors constantly out of order, areas closed off because the roof is leaking, countless empty shops. Need I go on?

👍 We have only used this store once on the way back from Dundee. The nephew needed to use the toilet. As far as he said it was a good toilet. Getting in and out of the car park wasn't as straightforward as it should have been. 4/5

😠 Do not use this car park. Owned by euro car parks who try and catch you out if you don't get a ticket when you park. Tk maxx were unhelpful in resolving this. Don't use.

👍👍 At first glance this single storey shopping centre is just that but in reality it is much, much more than the sum of its parts.
