    I visited Sunday 25th June, from the moment I arrived, I felt I was boarding a business class flight. The service was impeccable. Each and every member of staff smiled acknowledged me. The Optometrist Youssaf really listened to my concerns and my eye check has never been so thorough. I was feeling anxious before I arrived, the staff and their holistic approach put me at ease. I cannot thank Specsavers staff enough.

    My mother was sent a letter to come in for her yearly checkup and when it came to the payment and them knowing she was on benefits, one of the workers pressured her to buy extras that she did not need on her lenses. Unfortunately she was not shown any of the cheaper frames as all were out of stock (not) but frames from the midrange that were way to expensive for a pensioner. The total was around £200 considering she could not afford this I had to ask the individual to remove all the excess stuff and even the bare minimum was £85, the staff member was not happy and was angry I had requested for a review on price. Considering specsavers is a major high street business I was upset to experience they have no ethics on helping the elderly and vulnerable in the community but are profit driven. Please accompany your elder family to this place if you need to use them as they will be ripped off and if possible use alternatives as this place is all about profits and making money for frames that don’t cost as much as advertised, I would recommend ‘premier vision’ as that met all my needs recently for my other vulnerable adult in the family for less than £30. Don’t get ripped off, due to the cost of living spike there are cheaper alternatives.

    The staff at here are some of the best around. So many other companies could learn off their customer service. You genuinely feel valued when you enter the premises here. This is has been the culture for as long as I've been going, roughly ten years.

    Eye test 1st rate. Deals on glasses? Gave me a price on glasses. Pointed out I was pensioner, so they gave me the pensioners discount of 20%. Brought the price down 3p . Didn't buy the glasses 👓

    Poor Service Poor Policies . Everytime a child brakes his glasses you have to bring him with you in an order to be repaired, complete waste of time, different people have different situations…not recommended…

    All the staff are very friendly and helpful especially Nigel gentleman with glasses he explains everything in detail ans allows you time to decide what's right for you and your budget most importantly. Set of professionals that make you feel welcomed and looked after especially when you go in and you are worrying about your eyesight that's the kind of support you need great team.

    I called them over a week ago to set up a date to trial contact lenses. The lady said on the phone my eye test is still in date but runs out next month. That’s fine. She told me nothing else. (I previously tried before but couldn’t physically do it. Sick of glasses getting in my way so I thought I’d try lenses again). Skip to my appointment (this morning) and I’m served by some man who told me that my eye test runs out in 29 days. I said “yes the lady told me that over the phone” The man today wanted me to pay £10 for an eye test that I wasn’t told about and I didn’t plan for as I have other commitments. I calmly but bluntly told him, I don’t want a test. My current prescription is fine, I can still see perfectly with my glasses (they’re my eyes not yours) And I’m pretty sure the whole point of a contact lenses trial appointment is to “test” them and get used to putting them in, so if I can’t see with them I’m obviously going to say something!!! So he wanted me to pay an additional £10 for a test I did not need, to then mess about waiting for a new prescription of lenses to come after waiting a week for the originals to be ordered in… Also, have you not heard fuel prices have gone up? You’ve literally wasted my time… you’ve wasted my diesel. To go to an appointment to just walk straight back out disappointed. I cancelled a really important plan to show up today. I should have gone up to Newcastle to visit a family member who isn’t well. And I could have done with their company too. A break away. So I’ve cut my time away short. I could have drove up yesterday. But no, I didn’t as I had a contact lense appointment today… so you’ve quite literally wasted my time and money. Even if the test was free, i wasn’t told I might need a test over the phone. So I haven’t allocated time for said test. AND it’s the principle. Trying to sell me an add on! Does he want a bonus? Are managers pressuring staff to sell eye tests? Because he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Even though it’s my eyes and my test was still in date. Do you really think I’d pay £20+ a month for contact lenses that don’t work?! Give your heads a shake. Absolutely disgusting service. Each time I’ve been before the service was fantastic. But that’s probably because each time I’ve spent a chunk on glasses… This rating is solely based on the interaction with the man that served me today. The chap at the door was nice and welcoming and the place was tidy and presentable. I am absolutely disgusted at the fact you’ve made me come all this way to just be treat like I’m stupid. “Oh your eye sight might need a different prescription” So why order in lenses in my current prescription, not advise me over the phone and why can I still see crystal clear out of my glasses? Sale tactics and scaremongering doesn’t work on me. You literally had my money on a platter. I was more than happy to pay £20+ a month on contacts. But that’s not enough. You lost a bigger sale over the sake of sorting me to have a test for £10. I don’t need contacts I want them. It’s not absolutely necessary to have contacts. It would just make my life easier. So to have someone walk through your door and basically tell you they’re willing to pay x amount of month but then waste my time. I think some of you might be intelligent on paper but have zero common sense.

    I don't have a good experience with Specsavers. Good customer service, while a doctor who examines eyesight without competence. The lady badly examined my eyesight and I received the wrong glasses (2 pairs). I immediately reported the problem. They repaired my glasses but when I came to pick them up, no one let me inside the store, only the service lady brought them to me in front of the store and told me to try them on. This is not the case with the customer, the more so that £ 250 is left in the store. I do not recommend!

    I was looked after from walking in to having my eyes tested, going through the choice of frames and finally collecting my glasses just a few days after. The only thing I would suggest is that you are a little more transparent with the extra costs, maybe advertising the extras where the frames are? There are no surprises and it helps with the shock when you receive the bill!

    Very organised place. You are immediately received by staff once you arrive and tell you exactly where you need to be. Ateeq was the optician for my eye test and he simply explained everything he was looking for. Nigel then helpfully advised me on a choice of glasses. Thank you everyone for such a friendly experience.

    Looked after me when I had a issue with my eye even now they still keep and eye on it when I get my eye tests done only downside is just the cost of the extra lense things like scratch resistance

    I came in for a contact lens teach, bit nervous with trying the contacts Kayleigh was absolutely brilliant helped me so much regarding the teach and I felt so much calmer with how to handle my lenses, staff were extremely friendly during my whole visit would definitely recommend this place for your eye test or contact lenses

    So today I went in to get my prescription and collect one of the form. I always get amazing service from them and this was my place to get the eye check from last 5 years. However, my today experienced has changed everything.The lady on the front door was very welcoming but who she appointed to solve my enquiry. Shockingly doesn’t know any customer service, I explained to her my situation. First she kept saying we don’t ask for it, then her attitude was off. And she is watching me when I went back in, felt intimidating. I would have given 5 stars for my previous visits .

    Every single member of staff is incredibly welcoming, courteous and polite. It doesn't go unnoticed and it makes a difference to people like myself who are vulnerable. Made my visit to the opticians after years of not visiting easy. The only thing I would say is the waiting area is still a bit cramp, but I can see they've tried there best to open up space. I walked away feeling like my eyesight had been closely looked at and taken care of. There's always someone on hand to help and they've a good range of glasses. Thanks for helping me take my vision much more seriously and it feels great to see an improvement!

    Had my eye test and needed new glasses. I also had the option for a scan to check my eye health. It was a busy day and there was a wait, but staff courteous and helpful. Happy with the service

    The staff and the atmosphere in this particular branch is just amazing. They have mastered the art of customer service. From the moment you walk through the door up until they see you out, its phenominal! They are so helpful, so attentive its amazing. Each staff member is cut up perfectly for the job. They just make you feel at home. I have spent upto 2hrs choosing ny glasses and they were just amazing! I have been a customer here for the past 7 years and I have always felt blown away by their service.
